NCHs service MixPad, was free for the basic version, NCH says, and, after almost a month, when I opened MixPad, it said: "Your 'trial' of MixPad has expired."

Their software that I purchased has worked rather well for me, but their constant nag screens continually popping up and causing me to have to stop and delete them has caused me to avoid purchasing further products from them. And there's no way to simply permanently block these pop-up ads.

I am pretty sure they are hacking hard drives. I was using Express Rip to move a Santana album to my hard drive and when I pulled up the playlist a Johnny Winter album called "Progressive Blues Experience" popped up. It is on my harddrive. Earlier, the same thing occurred with a Norah Jones album, but with an Argentine music album.
It then dawn on me that the only way this could be happening would be that the software was hacking my harddrive. I want to know what they were doing on my harddrive.
This is very suspicious. Does anyone know who to report this too?

Useful software, but wrapped around ancient open source tools.
The components are packaged with old installers that need admin rights and mostly fail on newer Windows.
The installers for the components tend to trigger warnings in some AV, but testing with VirusTotal this seems to be false positives.
The software uses a version of OpenSSL from 2007 so should not be trusted for use with accounts.

They advertise FREE software but it NEVER is. You can download it free but to use it you pay.
Most of what have tried from NCH doesn't work properly anyway.
If you do download anything be sure to custom install or you will unwittingly install a load of stuff that you don't want and be nagged ad nauseum to upgrade.

I bought the audio conversion software and simply found it to be no good, not converting itunes m4 to mp3 for instance. I have free software which is legal and does a better job. It seems money is there only or main interest, Also they send me update notifications which always turn out to be advertising another overpriced product, I direct them to junk now.

No, none of this is free. You name it, you have to buy it. They offer 14-day trials and after that, you can't used it anymore. There is a way of downgrading to the free version, but that doesn't work anymore.
Therefore, techsupportalert.com has removed any software from NCH from their lists. AVOID IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FREE SOFTWARE.

Good web site. Be beware, while installing of of the proposed apllications a suspicious (and real hook) was detected by my security softwares. Just do as follow. First, use a clean programm (ex: CCleaner from Piriform, free and safety). Second, use Malwarebytes Anti-Malwaware, free and safe) to scann and clean the supicious detected hook. Third: To be safety, use SuperAntispyware Free Edition, for a quick scann) and and last, if it is possible for you (administrative rights), clean all Windows Restore Points. Create a new one, and everything will be fine for you.

The only reason I didn't give all green was due to the add on search and info bars they would like you to include on install. They do in fact alert you to the options and by rights it is your responsibility to refuse. Pay attention to the info text when you download and install.

Yes, you do get "free" software but their installation program is very invasive and installs a LOT of other links and software in your Windows Start menu that you don't ask for. It's also difficult to remove completely from your system afterward.

I have used this site for years now to get some programs, yes once you install a program it puts lots in your start menu but you can easily delete these shortcuts, i love there video capture software, i have never experienced any problems with them.
