My wife and I have a timeshare that we want to get out of, because the timeshare has failed to deliver on every promise that they made.
So, we enlisted the help of Helping timeshare owners.
They took our money immediately, and told us it would take about a year. They offered a 100% money back guarantee if we were not out of our timeshare within 12 months.
Our agent was Debra Snead, and she was great. Very nice lady, and I have no complaints about her. However after a year we were no closer to being out of the timeshare than we were when we started. We even gave it a couple of extra months. After 14 months we decided to accept defeat, and that this was not going to get us out of our timeshare.
So, we requested our refund. We were assured that it wouldn't be a problem.
It has been 3 months since we requested it and all we seem to get is a run around.
We have been told repeatedly that Jeremy Philbin is the only person in the entire organization who can help us with the refund. We spoke to him in early December, and he led us to believe that we would have no trouble getting our refund. Then nothing happened. After Christmas he told us that things has been held up a bit because of the holidays, and people taking time off. At that time he told us it would be about 2 WEEKS.
On January 10 I received a document through email from Natalie Laboy that I needed to sign and have notarized and return. I signed it and had it notarized and mailed it back on January 12.
As of February 4, I had heard nothing from anyone, so I emailed Natalie and asked her for an update. I got no response.
For close to a month my wife and I have both been trying to reach Jeremy Philbin. All we originally wanted was some sort of an update. Some idea on what is going on with it. Not once has he answered our calls, or returned our messages.
On those rare occasions when somebody does answer their phone and we get to speak to a live person, all they tell us is that Jeremy is the only person who can help us. They take our information and every time they promise us that he will 'call us tomorrow'. Not one time has he called us.
So, it has now been about 3 months since we requested our refund. And that was after 14 months of failed attempts to help us out of our timeshare. And now we can't even get any kind of status update. This is absolutely terrible.
We finally received our promised refund. Apparently there were some extenuating circumstances, that caused the delay in the processing of our refund. I can understand that.
I cannot fault Jeremy for the hold up, as this was outside of his control.
Based solely on that I would have upgraded to more stars, however the reason I did not, is because although I did receive the refund, and the delay was not his fault, the amount unnecessary of time and aggravation, it took to accomplish this was still unacceptable.
Specifically I am referring to the fact that on repeated calls by both myself and my wife, where we spoke to live human beings, we were lied to on every call. Had even one person simply said that due to unforeseen circumstances he was unavailable, but they would do everything they could to get this taken care of. I would have appreciated that.
Instead, every one of them, without fail, said 'He will call you tomorrow.' He never called me tomorrow, and as far as I can tell the reason he did not call, was because he did not get the message. So, they lied, repeatedly. A couple of them were even incredibly rude when we spoke to them. They were rude, and they lied. One individual encouraged my wife to seek legal counsel and sue.
If this was my company I would fire a couple of them. And most of them definitely need some sort of training on dealing with customers.
So, in the end I'm happy that they fulfilled their promise. I'm not pleased with the unprofessional behavior of some of the personnel, and the entirely dismissive attitude that we received on multiple occasions.

After trying to get rid of our timeshare for several years I came across, Help for Timeshare Owners, through a common friend who had used them to get out of their timeshare. We gave them a call and after putting some money down they got us out of our timeshare with no muss no fuss and we are very happy with their service. It may cost you a little money to get this done, but its well worth it in the long run. Rather than paying the always increasing maintenance fees every year for something that you can hardly ever use because the availability is not there. H4TSO helped us get out of 2 timeshares. It does take time but we followed their directions their process worked! Of course their was a monetary cost but it's a 1 time fixed cost compared to the ongoing agony of fees and assessments year after year. By the way, they offer a 12 month, 100% money back guarantee if they can not resolve your problem. Our first attempt went 12 months and we asked for our money back and they said OK but they thought we were close to a resolution and asked if we'd give them an additional 3 months, we did and 30 days later we got notice that our timeshare contract was CANCELLED! Our second timeshare resolution took less than 6 months. We are very pleased with H4TSO for relieving us of the financial drain and eliminating the stress that goes with it.
