I have had more issues with Halifax in 2 years than I had with Lloyds in over 20 years. They failed to identify a fraudulent transaction which should have alerted them something was amiss.... now my on-line banking will not allow me access with no way to reset details online as it just signs you out and no one available to deal over the phone....
Shocking, shocking service. I have already had enough. I am off.

Halifax never gave me any trouble. I don't hear them or see them...great! App always works and you get a notification when there's maintenance coming up. They're great at changing my address, unlike a bank that rhymes with ShatWest, who after 8 years still haven't been able to change my address. Also they haven't taken out multiple payment that I never asked for, unlike this bank that sounds like FlatChest. Also staff at the bank are very helpful, unlike the clowns that work at their competitor that rhymes with DevilsPest. Thank you Halifax!

Halifax Bank are SCUM OF THE EARTH. I banked with Halifax for year's. Year's ago I had My Own Company Bank Account with them My Personal Bank Account with Halifax. My half a million pound mortgage was with them and my Business was trading with the Bank of Scotland all with HALIFAX PLC THE SCUM. Then BOOM I MET A WRONG UN WOMAN AND LOST EVERYTHING. WHEN I LOST MY 8 WEEK OLD BOY TO MY EX 1ST JANUARY 2005 . I then had a breakdown after wrongly being put in Hospital by a Jealous Police Officer who was hell bent on destroying my success as the dopey muppet thought I was something I was'nt. When he realized I was all legal and above board a hard working Business man. He hated that fact more and destroyed me with a wrong sectioning. While wrongly sectioned I was burgurled within 5 min of being put in the hospital wrongly and my office's ransacked. Ermmmmm I wonder if somebody set me up? OBVIOUSLY. Anyway on comeing out the Hospital I'd lost everything in a burglary office's had been closed down the Mental Health act had failed me massively and my whole life I'd grafted 18 hour day's to get had been destroyed by bent Police jealous of my life a wrong un hospital and what ever muppet got me wrongly put in hospital wrongly with alleged Bi POLAR. Which I hasten to add I haven't got now DISCHARGED no medication never have had medication. ERM I THINK I WAS SAVATAGED AND I THINK ALOT OF DISGUSTING WRONG UN'S THAT DID IT WILL BE SENT TO HELL FOR WHAT THEY DID TO MY EARTHLY LIFE. Anyway after obviously being shocked at how much damage had been caused a burglary had taken place I'd lost absoulutly everything I OWNED EVERYTHING OFFICE BUSINESS MEMROBILIA TELEVISION'S I MEAN EVERYTHING APART FROM THE KITCHEN SINK. Eventually loseing my house repossession 2009 as I could'nt hang on to it after being cost all I'd worked for etc. Any way there is alot more but I can't go into it it's to much and I shall get to upset plus to much has happened and I'm going to run out of room to type. Let's just SAY I HAVE HAD A TERRIFICLY DIFFICULT LAST 14 YEAR'S AND AM LUCKY I HAVEN'T COMMITED SUICIDE. Let's get to this WITH THE SCUM HALIFAX BANK. After loseing absoulutly everything going through homelessness and then liveing in a hostel so I was'nt on the street but I'd lost my home etc. I was out drinking upset at all I'd endured. I think my drink was spiked while drinking tearful in 2017 as my scum bag ex had poked her nose in to see if I was still doing financially well. See I was broke and had lost everything because of SCUM BAG'S AND MISTAKE'S MADE TO MY EARTHLY LIFE BY OTHER'S AND took my son away again devastating me. So I was pouring my heart out to people drunk I'd become a victim of fraud. Worse then loseing the money was how HALIFAX EMBARESSED ME IN THERE BANK I WAS DEALING WITH ONE CASHIER WHEN ANOTHER CASHIER THEN LEANING OVER FROM HER CUSTOMER TO SAY I MUST OF TAKEN MY OWN MONEY. Embaressing me big time then put me like a performing seal in the middle of the bank on the phone so everybody could hear and see me getting tearful. As I'd gone through so so so much I swear I was haveing a breakdown live infront of CUSTOMER'S Bank staff it was very upsetting being on the phone to a woman telling me there is nothing they can do and I'm not getting my money back. I wanted to complain to the manager after regard the Cashier makeing accusation's but the manager was'nt in. The woman that said I must of taken the money was a Assistant Manager also SO SHOULD NO WAY OF BEHAVED THIS WAY TOWARD'S ME. When I asked for her Manager she did The BAFTA AWARD GOE'S TO ACT AND CALLED POLICE. Police come I was obviously upset at being defrauded. The Police were actually awesome had a go at Halifax for putting me on public display and told them so. Offered to take me back to Hospital because I'd been ambulanced in to Hospital the day before I was defrauded to get evidance to help my case. The Police got CCTV proveing it was'nt me. The Halifax after I was told Police were haveing great difficulty in getting hold of them in a phone call the Police made to me. After I then said I'd ring the Halifax I did ring them explaining to the Halifax Member of Staff in the Fraud department Police could not get hold of them. Halifax refused to ring the police number I was GAVE BY POLICE TO GET COPIE'S OF THE CCTV. SITEING IM GETTING A FRIEND TO PRETEND HE IS THE POLICE DOOOOOOOO WHAT HALIFAX YOU TOTAL SCUM. YOU WAS'NT ENGAGEING WITH POLICE I RANG AND BEGGED YOU TO.OH MY GOD THEY ARE SCUM. I at this time had Ombudeman BILLY WYATT involved WHO IS A BOTTOM FEEDER AND A LAUGHABEL INSULT TO HIS OWNSELF. OMBUDSMAN they are not worth the steam of my wee wee Ombudsman did nothing. The Bank refused to ring me back when they knew I'd been defrauded. I had to borrow money and beg 02 to put free credit on. Spending over a hundred pound on phone call's to the Halifax Bank. There rude obnoxious up there own backside staff think there poo don't stink. Talking down to me being horrendous this situation left me bed RIDDUN for MONTH'S. I ended up in a highten state of upset going to the bank week's later. Literally dragging myself there mentally battered you could see it had taken it's toll this and the last 12 hell on Earth Year's. The Halifax knew my story at the BRANCH ID TOLD THEM EVERYTHING. THEY KNEW ALL THE BREAKDOWN 12 YEAR'S MISERY ETC MAKEING WHAT THEY DID EVEN WORSE. A FEW WEEK'S LATER I HAD TO GET OVER THE COUNTER MONEY. The Manager was back and to cover her Assistant Manager's poor behaviour them week's earlier when I'd asked for the Assistant Manager's Manager. This Manager produced a letter to close my Account. I obviously become very very upset what a total insult. I ended up hitting my thigh on a table pulling it up by my hand's as it hurt my leg. A table leg fell out it slotted in a grove under the table a child of 5 could of fixed it. But oh no Halifax wanted to perform evacuated the building LOCKED the door and made out they were scared though LOCKED there self in the bank with me LAUGHABEL. TWENTY MINUITE'S LATER AND CALM POLICE TURNED UP AND THE BAFTA AWARD GAME'S STARTED AGAIN. Obviously they were trying to get compassionate leave and compensation by performing like actresse's. Anyway I had to go to court apparantly there too bop piece a toilet water table they were siteing was 750 pound laughabel. It would'nt of been that much if my Father Jesus had signed it. Even the corrupt judge agreed with that. But this scum bag BANK THAT KNEW MY LIFE STORY PUT ME THROUGH WANTING TO KILL MYSELF. PUTTING ME THROUGH COURT BECAUSE AFTER WEEK'S OF ABUSE GETTING NO CALL BACK'S NO BODY ENGAGEING WITH POLICE. I HAD A MELT DOWN AT BRANCH WITH ALL THE STRESS AND LOSS OF MY MONEY. I HURT MR TABLE LEG . THEN HAVEING TO GO TO COURT BECAUSE THIS COUNTRY IS CRAP AND LET'S GOOD HUMAN BEING'S LIKE ME DOWN. WE GOOD USE TO THE LET DOWN'S IN THIS DIRTY WORLD CORRUPTED BY ORGANIZATION'S BEING PROTECTED OF THERE DISGRACEFUL CONDUCT. THE LIEING SCUM OF THE EARTH HALIFAX WOW IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE HOW THEY PERFORMED ALL OF THEM OVER THE PHONE AT THE BRANCH. IT WAS ALARMINGLY BAD. I've not had any justice with it from scum Ombudsman Service's who are a joke they reduced me to tear's Ombudsman Service's and HALIFAX at a very very low time of my life. They could'nt do enough for me when I was flying and doing well. How evil and disgusting and wicked there staff are. The woman staff there that honestly performed like actresses. I been with Halifax from last 7 years never had a problem. But this time it’s worst specially in Peckham branch they are rude and the manager I don’t know what the Halifax headoffice seen the qualities in this person to make him a manager even the street boys do better job than him..I am happy I am closing my account never ever want to come back

Switched to the Halifax only a few months ago. Had an issue with them allowing a company to setup a direct debit and remove money from my bank account without my authority. They spoke to me like I was a dirty debtor & said if I owe anyone money then they have the right to remove money from my bank account.
Also had an issue with them on a credit card claim for a car I rented whilst on holiday. The Halifax said I wasnt entitled to my money back from the car hire company despite the car being unroadworthy with a broken clutch and handbrake. Dont bother with the Halifax because they are EXTREMELY RUDE, they are MISLEADING with regulation (they think I'm stupid when I work in regulation) and your MONEY IS NOT SAFE in a current account. I am swapping away after 3 months of hell.. declining direct debits and declining card payments. They are shambolic and have no interest in safeguarding your money.

Worst bank ever with an attitude problem. They can't solve an ongoing problem that's been going on since May of this year, where a merchant has defrauded me out of nearly £500 , I thought I was protected by using my credit card, and paying nearly 23% interest , perhaps we need a scheme a bit like ppi where we can claim the interest back for a poor service.As the dispute has gone on for more than 90 days they are basically saying tough luck. I have even been to my local Horsham branch twice, the manager couldn't help me as he doesn't have a direct line to head office, they even hung up on the staff at the office I went to in front of me. I have phoned the Halifax about 20 times or more, then only to be cut off or rudely spoken to, I have difficulty in hearing on the phone as it is. I am always sent to a call centre in Scotland or Ireland and the accent is very broad. And then have been told to email Lloyds disputes. Why didn't they tell me this in the first place. Instead wasting my time making pointless phone calls and then been told it takes up to 15 days for someone to get back in touch, which no one has had the decency to reply, They have sent me one email to date, and then they say they have sent four more that I haven't received. I have banked here for many years, , disgusting as we savers pay your wages for a poor and disgraceful service. telephone banking is a joke, have been told to do online banking , not with this bank, it's impossible with The Halifax or Lloyds. As I have banked with Halifax and Lloyds for many years an have been a loyal customer to be treated like this , I wouldn't have even give you one star. Unprofessional and incompetent,

They keep blocking my card for no reason, canceling my online purchases and canceling my direct debits and refusing payments even though theres plenty of money in the bank. I keep requesting a new card and havnt recieved one, been the best part of a year. I cant register on my app because no matter how many times I request my pin to activate it I never recieve it. They also keep blocking my contact less on my card. Wouldnt recommend

While on holiday, this useless incompetent bank issued a new card without a request being made and caused the card I had on holiday to be cancelled, meaning I could not withdraw money whilst on holiday or pay for meals. Calling the international helpline, they refused to reactivate my card. Was stuck on holiday with no means to pay for anything, even food. My child was hungry and very stressed. I had to phone a friend to help and they sent some money over which was a godsend.
Halifax don't care about children or customers. Nothing but a bunch of incompetent devious liars and do not care if they cause stress to children. Avoid this bank and its callous treatment of customers with children who were forced to get into difficulty because of Halifax's sheer stupidity.
Will be reporting the banks actions to newspapers to show what Halifax are like.

Last week I rang Halifax to register LPA for my husband with them due to his declining health. Helpful lady went through everything with me - said would take 6 working days.She sent a link for me to upload the 16 pages of LPA certificate,husbands passport and my driving licence. All went smoothly...... I-thought!!
A few days later I started getting letters from various services-house insurance etc, saying sorry for your bereavement and acknowledging cancellation for everything- then a very blasé letter from the bereavement dpt of Halifax saying they had mistakenly closed down my husbands account cancelled all dds and computer had automatically notified everyone he had died! It just said that he would have to find another way of making payments and if he wanted another current account to go into a local branch which he could not do due to having Parkinson’s disease. The LPA had disappeared into the ether!!
No moneys can be paid in either as his state or private pension had been returned to sender. The stress and hassle this has caused still goes on—he has now been given a new current account but it has just £23 in it instead of over a thousand pounds as I have to write to everyone and send proof of LPA ( I have it now!) and it takes time to resend.
Halifax think they have resolved the problem just by giving us a new account and sending a list of all the direct debits they have cancelled and a letter saying it was their mistake leaving me to do all the donkey work and write to and phone everyone. It’s taking ages.
Plus..... how on earth could they register a death with no death certificate.
I am exhausted with it all.

If I could give 0 I would. Halifax insurance is worse than useless. To start the 24 hour emergency service is diabolical and not helpful. Left me without water with a newborn baby due to a burst pipe. No help at all. Will never use them again.

I dont usually write reviews but Halifax have really screwed us over. We were due to complete our house today and move in but last minute Halifax said they did not receive our solicitors letter. This was at 9am and followed by 4 hours of calls and 2 hours of being on hold only to find out that it was actually too late for them to send a confirmation email on a Friday. Now we have no home and nowhere to live until Tuesday. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Do not get your mortgage with Halifax, go anywhere else!

Although I'm not a fan of banks in general, I have to say the Halifax online banking application I downloaded a few weeks ago is superb. They make banking really easy. Just need a few more staff in their banks on the high street to help the older customers who rely on this kind of banking.

I have banked with Halifax for a number of years, and always been reasonably happy, until recently when a few problems occurred with my account. In the past these would have been dealt with quickly and an apology received, but not anymore customer service is non existent, advisors wish to argue with you and tell you how they are going to do things whether you object or not. They are very obnoxious and arrogant , and have couldn't care less attitude towards customers in general.
Day to day banking is ok but then I rarely have to interact with a person for that now, and this suits me just fine with the Halifax.

Automated part asked for bank details entered these when through to the female telephone operator (who is a joke) she keep asking me to repeat myself I ask her to speak to another operator who could hear me she stated I would have to go back into the queue and wait a further 10 minutes at least I asked for complaints department and was told there is a minimum wait of at least 20-25 minutes you just couldn't make this up, this has to be a absolute joke you clearly are not interested in the customer whatsoever your female operator is a joke and clearly in the wrong job if she cannot hear clearly I asked for her name which came as a mumble clearly she doesn't want recognising - you really deserve minus stars for poor telephone banking

DO NOT USE HALIFAX FOR EBAY PURCHASES I bought an item on ebay and never received it. I tried to get my money back through Halifax and they claimed that yodel delivered it outside of my door so I can't get my money back. Halifax were so rude to me when I complained.

Hi had credit card with Halifax had my statement for September just paid the minimum has I had until 30th September to pay. But then on 3rd of October I paid total balance off but now I received October’s bill and they are charging me 75 interest when in theory it should only be interest on a balance owed which there is none and to top it up they are telling me even if I pay the 75 I still have 1.00 interest next month . How does this work they are telling me when my bills are raised that I should ring up for true balance also they said that this is interest from August ? When I said this is not in your terms and conditions they said no it’s not so they are breaking the law AVOID AT ALL COST I AM GOING TO FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN RIP OFF BRITAIN AND WATCHDOG
