For the prices they charge Goal Zero has very inferior customer service policies. I spent over $2700 for the Solar panel, 230 W high speed charger and the new 1500X power station. When I opened the 1500X the Anderson port does not charge the unit which is what both the solar panel and the 230 W charger use. After calls to tech support and resetting the unit they acknowledge it was defective and I needed to send it back. Normal merchant would send you a new one so you would have something to use and send the defecting unit back. Not Goal Zero. You have to wait a week to 2 weeks for a second company to send you packaging since the LI battery is hazardous (although when it was shipped it just came in two boxes). Then you can return it which since it must go by ground will take another week and then after they receive it they will send you a new unit (I hope). So you spend $2000 for a unit and won't have use of it for a month or more also using up a month of your warrantee. Customer service says that is their "Policy". Pretty poor policy in my opinion.

After owning multiple of their products and over $1000 invested, I can firmly say I'll never buy from them again. They come out with "innovative" designs that fail immediately after the warranty period is up and there is ZERO support to try and fix them. They will not even respond to acknowledge your issue. They do not care about their customers or their products beyond getting them sold once. Save your money and get better products from another company. hese are as reliable as the chinese knock off except 10x the price. Example: Goal Zero Lighthouse 250 ($80 lantern) will not turn off until the battery is drained... useless unless plugged into a power source and then you would have to cover it up with something to go to sleep and recharge before the net use

Products have short warranty and are pricey, though innovative. Contacted them twice with a question about a discontinued product (Lighthouse 250 lantern that suddenly refuses to turn off - they appear to be having similar problem with their newer brighter version)and never received a response. Wasn"t asking for warranty coverage or replacement just wanted to know if it was repairable. Also own a so lb. Ar panel and flexible light. Won"t purchase their products again if they don't care enough about their customers to respond to an inquiry.

THEY SEEM TO MAKE SOME PRETTY NICE STUFF, BUT THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. ALSO THEY HAVE SOME VERY LOW QUALITY BATTERIES THAT DON'T EVEN LAST A YEAR OR SIX MONTHS, AND WHEN THEY FAIL, THEY WON'T REPLACE THEM. ALL MAJOR MANUFACTURERS HAVE A ONE YEAR OR LONGER WARRANTY, BUT THEY DON'T. I WONDER WHY?

I spent almost $2000. on their best generator and solar panels. It works great and is an important part of our "prepping" program.

These guys make great portable solar chargers, batteries and accessories like lights, phone chargers and speakers for laptops. You can charge up one of their big battery packs or use their little solar chargers for direct charging. The small ones are about the same size as a notepad computer, so really convenient. Their customer service is great. You can also buy their stuff from beprepared.com, sometimes for less than the manufacturer's site.
