Outstanding company. I have some beautiful skirts from them. Outstanding service and caring people. They work with indigenous people with no jobs in Nepal and Northern India. What these people do to help them out is incredible

Spent a small fortune to buy 5 skirts. They arrived with mouldy fabric, rips and pulls and the sewing was very poor. Sent emails with accompanying photos and got very poor responses. Only option is to pay to send them back which I really can not afford to do. And I do not trust them to actually refund even if I did. So end result, 5 poor quality skirts and I am hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
The premise of this company seems like a positive thing but in actuality quality control is poor and their responses poor too. I would not recommend that anyone purchase the recycled saris.

The yarn I got was honestly fine but they gave me the smallest tools of yarn even though I ordered 4 I still didn't have enough to make a blanket. I made this purchase on their website and paid through my Amazon account. Little did I know they created a whole 2nd account when I did that so I couldn't find my order to return it for a whole day. Then I went all over this website looking for away to return the yarn and there was no way I could return it. I went to the FAQ page was asked to sign in again and my sign in wasn't found. Still waiting for a response. Another email went to the email on the Amazon account. So as we're trying to return the items they won't return what I paid for $59.99 and they'll only return it for $51. This website is a scam

My mystery sari skirt bundle made it to Canada in under 10 days. The fabric is gorgeous, with no flaws and the colours are exactly what I asked for. Perfect.

I've just placed my 2nd order. I love my wrap skirts. The quality of the fabrics and the workmanship is superb. The prints are so pretty. I'm in love! This is my look. By the way, their customer service is top notch. You will not be sorry for your purchases. I promise!

I'm new to Darn Good Yarn. Not only am I happy knowing I'm helping support women working for their families in India. They hand spin and make the yarn from discarded sari material. So it's also helping save the planet by repurposing instead of filling a landfill somewhere.
I adore the yarns I've received. Omg! Beautiful handmade and interesting. I'm an artist. I use yarn in a lot of my projects such as weaving, crochet, macrame and basket weaving. And I'm sure I'll use it in other mediums as well.
Im not one to write reviews but I felt that this company deserves a shout out on many levels. I will continue my monthly subscription and try not to buy everything you have all at once lol.
Thanks for your time. Go look them up. You won't be disappointed. Deanna

I can not get over how amazing the DGY team is. On top of having great, top quality yarn, they also have a great customer service.
Always so prompt in responding to my emails and they definitely make me feel like I matter and that connection with another human being is what's important whether in a business or in life in general.

I own upward of 30 DGY skirts. I enjoy wearing the skirts as much as I enjoy supporting the company's mission. When I've needed customer service, I have been attended to promptly. I appreciate the company's rewards program, their positivity, and the community they foster on their Facebook page.

May offers are sent to customers yet few qualify for them. I enjoy their skirts and if you get a bad skirt, they are really good about sending a replacement no charge. However, this does not change the fact that their marketing department is consistently sending offers that I never qualify for and every time I contact DGY about this issue, I'm told it's a mistake and thanks for understanding. I don't understand, so please stop saying this. I can overlook a mistake or two but this is a consistent problem at DGY. So much so that I finally threw in the towel on this company due to the marketing nightmare. I appreciate the BOGO's and other great offers but I can't overlook the constant mistakes. I have bought my last DGY skirt. I won't even buy from a 3rd party anymore and deleted all my third party sellers. DGY was willing to lose me as a customer over $15. So I went on Etsy and spent $50 on two fabulous off brand skirts. That's $50 DGY will never see from me again. And that was just today! I have 35 DGY skirts and will never buy another.
UPDATE:
What you fail to mention is that several customers were given the additional 15% off, on top of the BOGO, and you honored the discount since it was your error. I have that in an email! You tell me no while saying others can have it because they happened to order before the error was fixed. BE CONSISTENT! If you are going to tell the story, tell the WHOLE story, not just the part that makes me look petty. And I don't believe you are sorry you lost me as a customer because on my last order, I had blood all over one skirt and huge holes in another. Neither can be hidden by wrapping. The blood is unsanitary, especially in a COVID world. NO ONE ever responded and so I'm out 2 skirts from my last order of 5. The only response I got was to ask how my customer service experience was and I gave you a 1 and told you no one has helped me. I would have given a zero but it's not an option. Still haven't heard back. So if you really care about losing me, respond to me email or replace the 2 skirts I can't wear but paid for.

I've been subscribed to DGY for a little over a year now and I love everything about this company. In addition to my monthly subscription box, I've also made numerous other purchases and have always been pleased. I can only think of one time where I had an issue with an order and it was resolved quickly. The customer service is exceptional and the products are great quality. The karma points program is an awesome perk and I've gotten quite a few things for free using them. I especially appreciate how my purchases are helping to provide sustainable employment for so many people. My most recent purchase was 3 hanks of the beautiful Malabrigo sock yarn and I'm super excited to make something with it! I always look forward to getting my packages from DGY!

I got two skirts for a birthday present for myself. I hoped I made "great decision" as they emailed me. The joy when I grabbed my parcel soon turned into great disappointment. I could see that the fabric that was used for one of them was much loved - probably too much loved to be reused as a skirt. I could see holes here and there. Also, the sewing quality was poor. It has distinct odor too, but I am afraid to wash it because the skirt might be ripped during the wash.

Thank you everyone at Darn Good Yarn for being such a wonderful, fun, exciting, and all around fantastic place to shop for the things I love! I do think you are the greatest team out there in the business world, at least where yarn and such is sold! I can't say I have much experience with much else but I do love my yarn! And Darn Good Yarn just gives me this "feel good" feeling every time I get order from you! I was reading about my sari silk skirts I ordered which by itself is amazing, but then I went in to read about "Darn Good Yarn" and how it came to be and such... it's mind boggling to me what you all have accomplished and by the way, HAPPY 10 year Anniversary!

I had been eyeing the Facebook ads for this company and reading user comments (looking for negative feedback) for well over a year before I finally got the nerve to buy. It was a post-Christmas "buy 2, get 4 free" sale on sari skirts, so even though my total with tax and shipping still ran $160, it worked out to only $27 or so each. I got nervous because the website said in-stock items usually ship in two to three days, but two weeks went by without getting a shipping notification. I emailed the company, and immediately got an automated response that since it was the weekend, someone would contact me Monday. I did receive an email from a real person, who said that because of Christmas they were behind in fulfilling orders, but my order was pending and a notification would be sent. About 3 days later, I did receive a notification, and about 5 days after that, all six of my skirts arrived. And they are BEAUTIFUL, and SO comfortable. I absolutely love wearing them. They are well made, and I love that they are made from recycled fabric. The company is up front about every skirt being unique, and that the skirts you will receive will NOT be the ones in the photos. I sent my requests for style, colors and patterns and was delighted with what was chosen for me. I absolutely would (and probably will) order from them again.

My order arrived today and I love each of the skirts. Kate listened and fulfilled my order near to perfection and Nicole kept me informed since I asked for a lot and needed it quickly as I am going on vacation soon. Of course I had to order some yarn because i love their unique selection.

I can't say how much I love DGY!! I have had the Yarn of the Month subscription for almost 2 yrs and I buy items frequently from them from skirts, fabric, buttons, yarn of course, and move! I have NEVER been disappointed! If an order of messed up the fix it in record time! They are also very nice and follow up. I have yet to have a bed experience with them!! Thank you DGY for not just having great customer service but for all the good you do from employee people locally with special needs to help artisans in other countries make a living to recycling and reusing! Thank you so much!!

Darn Good Yarn is a great company that helps to employ talented and skilled women artisans in India. The products they sell are awesome, and it is alot of fun to get their mystery items and/or subscription services, as you will be surprised at all the variety they carry. If you like vibrant rich textures and beautiful colors for your yarns, this company has that. They also sell gorgeous clothing and accessories. I always get lots of compliments on my Sari skirts, and best of all, they are made from earth friendly, repurposed materials.

All purchases from DGY goes to help women in need....I love companies that give back to communities and are not just out to make a buck. I like different yarns and this is my go to place. You won't regret it. Very helpful staff. A pic is below of a scarf I arm knitted using their chiffon ribbon yarn.

Darn Good Yarn is awesome! I love the Sari skirts and yarn. I highly recommend them! So far I have had some troublesome issues with the postal delivery in my area and the customer service I received was excellent despite having these issues. (It had to do with delivery in my area and was not d.g.yarns fault) Anyways, I love this company and how they are making beautiful and useful earth friendly products. I also love that the company is helping to employ women in India.
