This is a great place to enjoy a night on the town! The staff is very friendly and helpful to customers. They really work hard to make sure everyone in the group sticks an axe! Come during the week for a more personalized experience or come on a weekend night to enjoy the lively atmosphere!

This is the greatest idea for a fun date night! Plus it's a wonderful way to interact and meet new people (in our case another couple!) and have fun. This is so close to our home in Avondale I can't believe we haven't gone before but we will certainly be back! Our coach was Jacob, and he was very kind and helpful.

I have to say it's kinda off the beaten path. I have done this once before in Los Angeles so I have another one I'm comparing it to. It was a lot of fun but very little instructions for the beginners in our group so we were responsible for guiding them which was fine. They get the fourth star for allowing you to bring your own coolers with drinks as they do not sell any. But the should have only gotten three stars for how badly kept the targets and axes were. The axe would literally fall out of the wood because they were not updating the targets.
Everyone had fun and it is a cool thing to try but it was just average compared to others. But fun

This place is great. It's byob so make sure to stock up before you head over. Our group had four people so we were able to get in a lot of axe throwing for the hour time slot. They teach you different games and ask about different throwing techniques. Another thing I would suggest is to use the lanes with board that have been well worn if possible. New boards are pretty difficult to cut and take a lot more effort. Overall, worth the money and fun for all!

My family visited this establishment to celebrate Father's Day 2019. We were able to get a special rate for Father's Day
The pros: unique experience, full
Contact with axes and boards, helpful staff
The con: no air conditioning in June. No options for drinks or concessions
You can bring your own cooler
Filled with your choice
You can and should dress for whatever the outdoor weather is. There are fans that help
With air circulation.

Came here for a bit of crazy family fun! I thought that I would catch on to this fairly quickly because it looked like it couldn't be that hard...until I tried it. It's so much harder than it looks!
The trick to getting the axe to stick was to nail a perfect rotation. We of course made it into a competition: girls vs guys so I geared up on my concentration. Our instructor demonstrated the correct form at the beginning of our session briefly. You really just have to find your rhythm and not be afraid of throwing the axe hard. Once I threw it with some actual force, I got it to stick and even landed bull's eye! YEAH! Might have been luck or I may becoming a pro...
As for the overall experience, it is accommodating to people of all fitness levels. All you need to do is perfect your form and not be afraid of really throwing the axe on the target. It's a fun way to step out of your comfort zone!
One thing to note, there wasn't any air conditioning in the building and it was 90+ out with humidity during our visit, so it took away from our experience. I suggest to place a fan at each group's station at least to get some air flow. Or, note on your website that there isn't any air conditioning so people can come in the appropriate attire and no make up :) You definitely work up a sweat throwing these bad boys!

Great when looking for something different to do, but incredibly hard, planks of wood! Would be way more fun for everyone in the group if they were changed to softer ones. Solid 5 stars if there was better wood.

The staff especially the guy with black hair was so rude. Spent more time talking to girls then helping people learn how to throw / the rules. Plus It's hot in there during the summer and throwing the axe gets old after a few tries. Wouldn't waste your money!

We throwing is like a more violent version of bowling. It was super fun awesomeness. I bookmarked this place the deck. I was aware it was in existence. My son loves any kind of weapon related activity.
Yesterday I had some time. Asked my son and his friend if they wanted to go throw axes. You would have thought they hit this lotto. Maybe they just wanted to get out of the house but they were pretty excited about it. I made a reservation online for 4:45. $20 per person for an hr. Not bad at all.
GPS take you right to the front of the building. You have to go around back.
Upon entering we were greeted by a few employees.
The interior is a small warehouse work 4- 2 lane throwing areas departed by fencing.
A large table is few feet behind each throwing area platform.
Additionally, there was adequate space for spectators, people waiting their turn... we were asked to complete waivers on our phones before proceeding.
One of the 3 guys we met on the way in took us around showed us all of the safety information, explained techniques, equipment,safety.....
Really nice guy. He adjusted stances and squared up shoulders and gave tips to my kids while they were throwing. As their skill set progressed he gave us new items to throw.
The facility was slow at the time we were there so we each got our own lane to throw in. We broke pieces here and there which would close a lane momentarily, but the guys really jumped up and got them fixed immediately. They identified the issues and took corrective action. We didn't even have time to report the issues.
The staff were super friendly nice guys.
They were exited by our good throws and were supportive and fun.
I would highly recommend this place. Especially last nights crew around 445.
Son got 2 axes thrown at once double sticks.
I got a handle to stick. They told me that was an absolute 1st. So I'm proud.
My sons friend broke almost the entire target... like it was hanging on by a thread and he hit it and it came crashing down. Super loud and hilarious to everyone.
A really good time.
Go off peek to really enjoy what this place has to offer.

This was so fun! The hour is more than enough time. The axe pros there are so helpful and make it even more fun. There are different shaft lengths for the axes, which can add to the challenge. It's a fun and engaging atmosphere.

Went tonite for our local Christmas family outing surprise. Myself, my wife both daughters enjoyed the unique experience. Great staff that was very helpful. Would recommend for small groups. Make sure to park on the side of building and the entrance is located in back.

Large loud warehouse with cement, wood and multiple sizes of axes...hmmm...Yea!!! Great fun! Didn't expect to have tons of fun, but did. As another Yelper says, just look for someone with a Civil Axe t-shirt when you go in. These are the employees and will be kind and helpful and will teach you how to throw an axe. Yes, newbies should know that there are MANY ways to throw an axe, and overall athleticism is not required to excel OR to just have a great time. While my Civil Axe visit was only with my spouse, I think this would be a wonderful holiday group experience. In fact, my office team might just love this.....GO! Have fun! Get in touch with your inner hunter/gatherer!

Great Scots, what a hoot! My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and had such a great time. We've been looking for an activity to do together and I think we've found it. Who knew slinging axes could be so much fun?! We will definitely be going back soon!!!

This was a strait Dope Experience. At first it seems hard but after a hour i think anyone can get good. Very laid back environment, the instructor was very friendly and informative. But like all fun things in life soreness comes the next day. I highly recommend everyone try this it was a great stress relief and who doesn't need the skill set of hurling a axe.

I took two stir-crazy 15 year olds during Christmas break. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. The kids had a great time and used a lot of energy, and asked when we were going back (which is quite a compliment from those two!)

This was such a fun date night. My husband was really skeptical, but ended up loving it. We learned how to throw both axes and then did trick shots. My husband ended up landing three double throws in a row and then decided to quit while he was ahead as our hour was almost up anyways.
When you arrive it is a little confusing, but just find somebody with an axe on their shirt and they'll guide you through the whole process.
We saw some people with beers, so we went over grabbed some beers over at Hop City and brought them back with us before we started!
