I would never trust this company. Do yourself a favor and RUN away from Caring Transitions. I hope this post saves someone and their family from getting ruined. You would do better to call 1800 junk and pay them to take your family members items away. Its the same thing. Adrian Massey and her crew sold my mothers items for nothing and my mother ended up getting taken advantage of as a senior citizen. She lost hundreds of dollars and 12 pages of treasured items. No one will answer our calls and corporate wont return phone calls. They don't care. They are heartless people. They are thieves and I hope to God they go to Jail one day. Do yourself a favor and never use them for an estate sale or for anything. They are taking advantage of the elderly and their children who are left behind. I hope if you are reading this you don't use them, I do not want another person to go through what we experienced.

My parents trusted Caring Transitions of Columbia, SC (CT), to represent their best interest. To "care" about them during the sale of their belongings as they down size and "transition" to a retirement community. In the end, my parents paid a total of over $8,500.00 to Caring Transitions and no longer have the possessions they could not take with them.
I have contacted the corporate office. They tell you they will look into it, but since this is a franchise they do not hold any liability, liability is with the franchise owner. It has been two months and no resolution.
Fortunately, my parents are in good shape, the loss of money has not broke them, but some people are not as fortunate.
I am sure this service works well for other, I would presume because the owner is actually a caring person and is caring for their customers instead of looking to gouge them for their own financial gain.
I suggest to really research the owner and company, do not go off of what they say, but what is in the contract. Your best bet is to simply donate the items or hire some help, load up the items and sell them yourself at a flea market or online.

BEWARE!!!!! This particular owner/operator basically gave away my elderly, disabled parents belongings. Her so called online auction is A sham. She is the most uncaring person I have ever met. She actually witnessed my father who is a 76 year old ,100% disabled Vietnam War veteran, in tears because of having to downsize and move into an Assisted Living facility yet, Instead of being "caring" and helping him "transition" to the next phase of life, This person "sold" his treasured belongings to a "private buyer" for PENNIES on the dollar. She pockets the fee from the client and whatever amount the "private buyer" offers. She does not "Care" for anything except the almighty dollar.
I Absolutely Do Not recommend this particular company at all.

This was a miserable experience! I contacted the Parker Colorado franchize to get help sorting, organizing and selling boxes and boxes full of things left from my mother, grandmother and even Great-Grandmother. The owner, Sue Hawk, came to my house and went on and on about how nothing she saw was worth anything. She looked thru a sampling of family heirlooms and antiques, then said she would email me a proposal, which she never did. Clearly she felt there wasn't enough money in it for her, but rather than telling me it wasn't up her alley, she simply Ghosted me... She would not return my messages or email. There was nothing at all Caring about this Transition.

Drove more than the miles said it was as the "regular store merchants" came and got their stuff and called by first names, we stood in the rain and waited, as they took the dust covered mirror off the wall, we, well over 60 took a chair and an ottoman up a steep incline to our vehicle, the store owners buying things for their store were backed up to the garage. Awful. Second place, they got the name wrong on the street but GPS new better than they did. Went to it and asked for my mirror, yes it was early, and no she didn't want to give me my mirror early, but I did get it and was out of there, never to bid with this place again. It was a garage sale gone a muck.
