Rented out my car to them in June 2018 and I was supposed to get $500. Until today I have not received a cent from them.
I am really surprised such company can be in existence!!! Such a shame!

Service was 5/5 pretty good but the car had a couple of annoying issues that brought the experience down (the glovebox didn't shut properly so rattled, and the windscreen wiper water was broken and so driving in Melbourne in misty weather was no joy)

Before I had even stepped out of the car on returning it, they said I had caused damage without even checking any records. It felt like a complete set up.
When I tried to go through it with them they acted as I if I was the crook when every step has shown their behaviour to lack transparency, honesty, ethical let alone best practice.
They had already tried to prevent a cancellation contrary to the clearly written statement of free cancellation on the booking confirmation.
They make it impossible to deal on the phone and only have web chat and try to deny everything you have said and done.
They will not give you the operation managers name or let you speak to them.
Repeatedly refused to give me my copies of the contract, a copy of pre-rental photos and existing damage diagram. Because they are private cars there was already a considerable amount of small to moderate scratches and damage.
Asked from day 1 every week for weeks in writing. These were never answered.
Deducted thousands of dollars out of my account.
I was fully covered insurance wise including a no excess addition that I paid extra for. So none of this should be happening even if someone else did scratch it on my rental.
Did not notify me of any claim, damage, process, or respond to any written or verbal requests at all.
This company is expert at dishonest dealings

Carhood is located in an old warehouse but don't let that worry you. The staff are great and my bond was refunded within 3 days. Polite and experienced and Id definitely use them again. Car was great too at a small cost

Left my car for two months with Carhood, we got fines, parking tickets that we had to pay ourselves. The car was serviced just before letting it to Carhood and "magically" broke down. They don't cover towing... It ended up costing us more than $3000 and didn't make a cent.
Avoid this company like the plague!!

I have used Carhood 5-6 times but when my car was damaged ($4,500 worth of damage) they have delayed any repair or payment since April (4 months) and I am still waiting - 33 emails later. Anyone using Carhood needs to be aware of this.

Got my car back early March 2019, now is already Sept, 6 months ago... My car got damage at the back, cost $450 to fix. No car listed payment no car claim payment either. Email few times no reply; call up, they say only for pick up and drop off service; live chat, they say will get the payment pay as soon as possible but don't know when will get it. I think this company is bankrupt soon. Anyway to report them?

In my case Carhood owes me $3294.00 car sharing fees, for which they have provided me with an earnings statement. This debt remains unpaid since two months ago. So this forms the basis of my following comments.
In the media it is being reported that Carhood is selling shares with the spin about it being for expansion. In my view only a fool would buy shares in this company because when this story hits the media. These shares will be worth nothing because their reliance on scamming car owners will be stopped. In my opinion this company is very badly managed. So no matter how many shares they successfully sell under false pretences. They will be suffering liquidation before to much longer. It is very clear to me that the new CEO salary is being given a clear priority before paying car owners.

The car itself was fine. Sadly we got a parking ticket which we tried to contest. We informed carhood of this when we returned the car and they kept our bond. We sent numerous emails requesting the parking ticket was put into our name so we could contest it but Carhood did not do this. We have also emailed numerous times asking for an update on whether they are going to pay the fine and refund us the difference between the fine amount and the deposit. The fine was issued over a month ago and to date they have not paid it. We are very concerned that this will have an additional cost to us with no responses from Carhood at all. Disgusting communication.

I gave my car with carhood and it was rented out for 5 weeks, it was October 2018 and they owe me 250$. I still didn't get paid, it is almost 10 months. Tried a lot of times to get in touch with the accounts department, there's no response back from them. They really not gonna pay us back.
I have decided to Lodge a case against them in VCAT Ombudsman. It's gonna cost 82$ and if court finds the fault at carhood they will pay us back with the court fee and our compensation.
I Request everyone who didn't get their pay back from carhood should Lodge a complaint.

unfortunately the car Id booked months in advance was changed to one that was very uncomfortable to sleep in.
Hopefully next year when I come down for the Phillip Island Historics youll have something that the seats fold down flat in.
Everything else was fine.

Please do not leave your vehicle with carhood. They do not pay money and don't reply to emails or calls. Looks like I am not the only one who has been be disappointed and has not received payment.

Carhood upfront seemed a little too good to be true. The price point was awesome. The service was great - staff were friendly and helpful. There was no real barriers to the transaction and I love the concept of taking car sharing to rentals.
Only reason it's not 5 stars is the distance to the Melbourne airport from the car park, it would be ace to have that communicated (only 10-15 minutes, though I was on a delayed flight, and felt a bit in the dark about the time frame for arrival).
Would and have recommended this service to a friend in Brisbane already. Will use again.

On-line booking straightforward.
Price was competitive.
Airport to depot transfer went as scheduled.
Administrative procedures were fast.
Vehicle provided was modern and clean.
Only disappointment is that you don't operate in Townsville which is my next destination.

Its been more than a month now since picking up my car and i have yet to receive payment on it!!
Furthermore the car had been damaged with them claiming it is normal wear and tear and that it was going to happen sooner or later. The weatherstrips on driver side window and rear passenger is either missing or almost ripped right off!!
