This site is worthless! I thought i was signing up to pay for only 1 month without auto renewal and found out I've been getting billed 39.00 for the last 6 months, i tried calling support it was shady and no option to call about billing, their site if you notice has no contact us and its a total scam. Stay away from this company / site.

Used care.com since 2010 and recommended it to so many parents and nannies. It has become progressively worse and frustrating over the last few years. The feed back I get from parents is that it is not "user friendly" and some of these parents are in the tech field! There use to be a way to contact the directly and they responded in a timely manner but no longer. It's a shame because nanny agencies charge parents a hefty fee for pretty much what can be done on care.com (some of these agencies actually advertise on care.com so what are parents paying them for? but that's another issue) Very disheartening as child care is tough enough for parents and when your looking for a job this site is just terrible!

I had the same issue it appears everyone else has that you sign up for a month thinking it's only one month. Nope!! I did not figure this out until a few months and over $120 later. I cancelled with them but, Nope! I had to go through apple who also sucks and is probably in cahoots with these robbers and I was charged yet again. Finally I removed my credit card information from apple and now I will not be charged. This website sucks!!

I was a member of Care.com a few years ago and I got a long term babysitting job thanks to them. The site was free to use and I could get an an annual background check for about $8. I was majorly disappointed when I recently found myself in need of a new job and decided to use their services again. They charged my $30 for a basic background check and then I find out it's only good for 6 months! Not only that, I recently applied for a job, but was told I had to pay $20 to upgrade to premium membership for one month to see the person's response. Either that or pay $120 for the year! So I decided to go with the 1 month for now only to find out that the person hadn't even responded! This site used to be very useful but now it's just a big rip-off!

DONT DO IT! Paid the money...contacted over 30 potential employers... NOT ONE RESPONSE! 99% of all these advertised jobs must be FAKE jobs otherwise I should have received SOME response! Even to just say no thank you. But no, nothing at all. SCAM!

I paid for a subscription to this service and called the support team for assistance. The next day, I was cut off from use of the service. Apparently the site does not support event based support. But instead of the support team telling me this during the call, the passive-aggressive lawyer I reached out to reported me instead so that I was abruptly cut off from the service. Then care.com was not willing to refund my money. Greedy jerks! They won't help you, but will still take your money, go figure.

Less than one star, I got a message from a potential employer named “Saula L” who pretended they had work and was looking for a nanny and they scammed me and I had to cancel my card and they tried to steal all of my personal information

Very misleading web site. Do not sign up for and pay them anything. There are no refunds! It is a complete waste of money. I reached out to a number of people for senior caregiver help and none would get back to me. I posted a part time job- to and from Dr appointment, 2 a day/ senior check ups, etc and people would apply that live 2 hours away? really? You can't talk to anybody at Care.com and I emailed them after 4 days and asked for a refund. Their response " sorry it didn't work out, we can't controls who is available for work and some people don't change their status when they find full time work. No refunds! This site is the biggest scam I've ever seen. It is not what you think it will be.

So bad. I register for one month and I picked the one payment option.
And I still got charged the next month. I closed my account, and cancel my subscription, and the next month I GOT CHARGED AGAIN.
So, I got charged for 3 months, and no service provided.
There is no phone number or email listed on the website to contact them. I think because they know the amount of complain that they're going to get.

I opened an account not knowing they refuse to refund my money. The fine print is so long, and so small. I didn’t know what I was doing. I was trying to help my daughter get help with her kids after she had major surgery. She told me care.com is the worst and would never use it again because the babysitters are not properly screened. I tried to cancel after an hour of opening an account and care.com refuses to refund my money and meanwhile they have been sending me emails about their services. So now I’m getting spammed by them as well. I don’t recommend them.

Short version: almost every single post advertising a job on this site is a fake post. The company itself must post these fake jobs, to entice service providers to pay to use its platform.
Long version: I am a professional tutor. I use multiple avenues to connect with clients. Care.com is something that I have used to connect successfully with exactly one family, having sent untold dozens of initial messages. These posts are all identified by first name and last initial, making it extremely easy for them to be faked. Most of them do not have photos, but a placeholder icon that simply says "Care.com."
Follow the money here, folks. I pay for a membership on Care.com. Why do I do this? Because it stands to benefit me. (I *did* connect with a family and end up working with them ONCE.) The "benefit," which is almost entirely fake, is based on seeing what looks like lots of job postings. THESE JOBS DO NOT ACTUALLY EXIST, AND THE PEOPLE POSTING THESE JOBS DO NOT ACTUALLY EXIST. I do not have proof of this, but the *only* reasonable answer is that Care.com spends all day creating fake accounts and then making convincing-looking job posts. They make money hand over fist, because chump service providers like me fork over their money to access these job postings that are not even real in the first place.

I too was mislead by care.com and did not realize my subscription would renew every 3 mon. Thankfully I was able to catch it the day I was charged for the first renewal. I had no other complaints or issues with their service. From reading the reviews it seems this is the biggest complaint and I would hope they would fix it. At least email a few days ahead of the renewal payment and make it more known upfront. I was able to cancel my subscription through my iTunes account and I was issued a refund. I am very grateful I only had to deal with Apple and they were so helpful. So FIVE STARS for Apple iTunes and their customer service.

Could I please get some help here? I am trying to close my account at care.com I am being charged every month for a service that didn't help me to find a job. However, all I need is to cancel my account, many attempts are being in vane. To anyone looking for reviews for this service at care.com and looking for a job, please make yourself a favor and look somewhere else. I hope I can receive some help through this site to cancel my subscription.

So far Me and my wife have had a bad experience. To me it's an inconvience when you hire someone and they agree to fill position . Then they back out by not responding to your messages or text phone calls etc. When you give them the starting schedule. School is on its way and we have someone that we hired back out on us. It's an inconvience. We could have been interviewing others if we knew this was gonna happen. Those so called sitters that have an account with sitters.com should be penalized for matters like this. It's an inconvience!

When you sign up for a one month package, 1 month is all you want. You do not expect a service to then continue to take payments out of your account without you knowing! At no point are you asked if you want to extend the use of their services. It may mention this in the small print, but as you’ve only opted for one month, you do not expect this deception.

The idea behind this is great, but I have spent a lot of time to set up an account, to write a job posting, to check back in etc. etc. just to find out I can't even read anybody's application unless I pay for a subscription. Basically, there is no upgrade… If you want to use their site you have to pay. It's way too high for me to even consider. Guess I'll go back to Craigs list, I can do my own background checks way cheaper! Very disappointed I wish there was something along the same idea that was either cheaper or free and made money through ads or something. Also, after reading other reviews I'm so glad I didn't sign up because it was not clear to me either that if you signed up just for one month (which of course is the highest cost) that would continue until you cancel it. It is true that it does say that, in small print of course, but if you're choosing a one-month subscription it should be up to you if you continue after that not whether or not you go back to their site and cancel.. Several of their buttons didn't work and would just give error messages, not real user-friendly.

Very hard to navigate and for others to give reviews to your profile. They deleted my profile twice due to I had put in my bio that my husband is able to help lift etc with me for jobs if needed, and that, according to care.com constituted me being a business not an individual. They never tried to contact me about it or give a reason why until the 2nd time when I emailed them as to why. It took alot of work getting my profile and references set up for them to just delete it without warning. It also seems that people who wanted to hire me couldn't continue to message me unless I paid to upgrade to a paid membership. I am very displeased with this company. Do not recommend them.

Same thing happened to me today I got scammed and they took everything from my account the persons name on the site was Saula L and they were claiming to be a parent looking for a nanny, wanted to do a background check but they took everything I had left in my bank and I have a child to take care of. They just don't care they will rob you blind very hard lesson learned today DO NOT TRUST OR USE CARE.COM I'm going to report them to the police first thing tomorrow. I wish I had read these reviews first before even going on that site.

I put an ad on here looking for work . Plenty of adverts but find some of them strange . One asking for verification of my DBS but wouldn't meet me first . Linked me to an unknown website for me to pay a refundable check .
I find this website very weird . A tick box shows days people want you to work . Some 7 days ? Some all day but only 4 hours ?
If employers are paying to use this site then I would love to know how anyone actually gets to arrange to meet up .

1) Care.com won't allow me to delete my profile which has only been up a few days
2) I had found the option to do so and when I clicked it, site began rerouting me to a Schedule for work page. I cleared cache, deleted Google history and tried again. Same. THIS is why people avoid signing up for anything.
Mind you, as soon as I signed up, I began getting called from several bot callers a day.
If you haven't noticed the trend in having to pay more and more for work, then this may explain why we have come here. Care.com is now requiring Social Security numbers in the name of safety? My state i.d. and ALL the info the are mining on us, isnt enough info? Sure it is. If our banks can't even protect our info (so they can charge us soon for zero protection games), why would we give our social security number to Care.com. My background is clean but I am not paying Care.com to mine my info for sale so they can flood my inbox with their fake job opportunities. I think its amazing that there seem to be so many opportunities but no one behind these accounts. But brace yourself for the abundance of psuedo responses you will get with click bait links attached....Do not click any link in these emails!!!
More scam sites to monitor your private information and offer nothing in return. Stay away from this site.
