Ordered online & got a delivery date as next day delivery if order is in before 7pm. I ordered the goods at 1.30pm - got next day delivery date given to me which I also had confirmed in writing. Item never arrived. They then told me it would be a further 2 days before I received the goods. Not good when I had a plumber to fit the items costing money. Their transport company (PHJ) phoned to let us know a delivery time which they said would be 7am the following day. We are a house builder and the site is not open until 8am. The lady didn't care one bit that we had been waiting 2 days already and didn't care that we would not be able to take delivery at 7am. It was that or wait for another day! Very unhelpful, unpleasant and bad attitude. Would not recommend for this reason.

I went to my Local B&Q for a cooker hood filter, The first person I asked tried to help but then told me to speak to the design department just in case she gave me the wrong information. So I went to the design depart and told him what cooker hood I had and that I had bought it from B&Q 5 years ago. He told me that they would not sell that filter any more too old and told me to go on line. I did that and entered my the make and model of the cooker hood and the word filter. Guess what the first place that came up that sold the filters and had them in stock you guess right B&Q. may they need to know more about there stock

Staff never is helpful even though some of them know you could do with some help but they Just want to avoid you.And if ask for help the cheeky reply will be 'you have to be quick I have to go see other customer '. Something you dont expect, compare to my demanding, chaotic busy working place Restaurant, their place is nothing. We still always are polite and helpful to our customer.

If I could give no stars I would. Waited for 9 hours for delivery. Driver very agitated. Doors damaged and so they promised to collect and reimburse me. 19 days later still not collected and spending around half an hour per day on calling them up to be told they will be taken away the next day. Worst customer service I have ever experienced

The staff were very helpful.
They took me to the compost, where they were very helpful asked me what the compost was for. Plus told how many bags they thought I would need.

I left the store in Sunderland yesterday literally shaking with anger.
I came along to b&q yesterday to buy some timber as I knew you had a timber cutting service too. Well I collected everything I wanted to buy (nearly £200 worth of items) and headed to the timber cutting section of the store. No one was there so we rang the buzzer. We got told someone would be with us soon and they announced over the tannoy for someone to assist us. 20 minutes later (no exaggeration) still no one was there. We then pressed the buzzer again and it rang so much and no one answered it rang off. So we tried to find a member of staff... none to be found! We went to another department in the store and pressed a bell to call someone out. They came out and put a call over the tannoy for the man to come serve us. So we made our way back to the timber cutting service, and low and behold after 10 minutes waiting still no one turned up! After being extremely frustrated we tried to find another member of staff, when we asked her if she knew if anyone was working at the timber cutting service she went on to tell us "I just sent him on his hour long break" wonderful, clearly she heard the tannoy for him but failed to come and let us know that he had went on his break, we had another look around the store and went back after asking her when his break was finished. He came up to the counter to then tell us that the wood we had wouldn't be able to be cut because it was too small (baring in mind there is no size guide of what can be cut and what can't because apparently it's too negative of a sign to display!) Only got 1 star because it wouldn't let me put none. I wouldn't of had a problem had someone told us that the timber we had was too small to cut before we waited a hour for the man to get off his break!
You can do it, b&q it... sounds about right. May aswel do everything yourself because your staff are absolutely useless!

Visited bq kirkcaldy to exchange lawnmower I must say the staff were second to none .Advice given was exceptional.Special thanks to Davy from the garden department who was very knowledgeable and couldn't have been any more helpful .5 STARS.06/2/19.

Wanted to have two bedroom built in wardrobe plans done drove 70 mile round trip to be told I needed an appointment didn't see anything about this on the website. I was prepared to wait for an assistant when eventually I was approached and told to come back on saturday 4 days later.
Shurly on a quiet Wednesday afternoon there should be plenty of capacity for them to convert customers to sales rather than tell them where to go

DO NOT ORDER TILES FROM B&Q
Went into Solihull store to buy 19m2 of tiles. I had checked their web site daily for a week before we went. The website showed 20m2 in stock! When we got to the store we was told they only had 6 boxes in stock! We was told not to take any notice of the website as it doesn’t update...so what’s the point?
The gentleman was very helpful checked stock at other stores for us. Erdington had the rest now this is when the problems started! The guy from Solihull store asked him if the name, stock no’s was the same, there was no colour match no. I could hear both ends of the call & the guy from Erdington said yes...I was asked to pay in Solihull store for both orders, which I did. On our way home when I received a call from Erdington asking us to go into store so they could refund their part of the order & retake the money. I refused and said it wasn’t my problem as I had paid! He said it was company policy...I then rang B&Q’s head office to see if this was correct they said it wasn’t. I then received another call from Erdington telling me they only had 9 boxes in stock! I said I had heard the call where he had confirmed that they had stock, hence me paying in full. Another call 20 mins later stating they had the tiles in and they would be delivered Monday!
Monday came & the tiles arrived and dropped on the drive, I queried the colour match with the drivers who said they looked the same they had to leave to deliver other stuff but said if I wasn’t happy I had 45 days to return.
I checked the tikes boxes only to find they had different batch no’s and some box was spelt Concrete & others Koncrete...well done you lazy numpty couldn’t even be bothered to ensure the right tiles was sent out! Another call to head office, not interested shame on you B&Q where is the Customer Service? A week later after I spent an hour on the phone trying to sort this out they can’t be bothered to call back! LAST time we buy from B&Q especially tiles!! We used Tile Mountain with NO problems at all!!

Great company when you make the trip yourself. Staff are helpful, competent and readily available. Their online ordering and delivering is awful but lets focus on the good.

Tried to order a couple of items for click and collect but was informed by the web-site that I could only pick the items up after 1.00pm the following day. This is not acceptable method of customer service. A friend was going to the store later the same day and bought the 2 items for me but he had problems because the store maintained that the price they had quoted on the web-site was a , lot lower than the price in store, luckily I had kept a note of the details off the original enquiry and the store accepted this as the correct price to pay. .All in all not a very good experience and certainly not what one would expect from a national store.
