The Lena Maria was a very comfortable barge with roomy cabins, comfortable bunks and plenty of storage.
Helpful and very friendly staff and an especially wonderful chef who provided excellent meals. Good dining and lounge areas.
Group numbers for riding on “The Green Heart” tour need to be kept smaller than our 22 members for riding through cities. It was too difficult and dangerous all trying to negotiate intersections and traffic and keep up with only one guide.

Bordeaux cycling. The cycling tours were well guided and interesting. Our cabin aboard the Bordeaux was a bit cramped, but the staff was helpful and friendly. Excellent evening meals.

The trip was amazing. Exceptional staff, great food, service over all was top of the line. One concern is that the Carrissimia boat struggled all week with a sewage odor that permeated the lobby and large gathering room. It was very strong at times. This should not be a difficult problem to solve and needs to be addressed.

Ship was average in accommodation cabins. Food was below standard.
Tour guide was very rude to guests and crew. Stops were well planned..information to find your way around in English, was very poor...lost many times

We had a great time. Unfortunately we were supposed to be on a bike/boat tour, but our boat was damaged a couple days prior to our tour so we were switched to a bus/bike tour. However, the company did a pretty good job, given the short time frame. The hotels and meals that were substituted were reasonable and some were very good. I would do this again.

This was our first biking and boat tour.
It was amazing. We went with a big group of 10 nurses and 10 spouses. Biking was not difficult. It felt good biking around in France. We saw many things that we wouldn't if we were driving. We are thankful for that.
The guide Carlos and the crew Filippo, Josef, Marco and Nadia were friendly, positiv, helpful, nice and service minded. Made us feel like home. Trusted os for the boat, bar and the wine. We bounded good and they came part of our wonderful group.
We are for sure going on this kind of trip again very soon.
Best regards from Hilda and Binni " the fast and the furious"

We enjoyed this ship and especially the friendly and helpful crew! Hans is an excellent captain!
The biking was grand. Visiting many small villages was a highlight. Our bike guide, Patrick, was outstanding. I highly recommend this bike trip!

The trip itself was great. Loved the guide and the crew. The issue that I have with the trip is that the business office for Boat Bike Tours is dysfunctional. We got numerous emails about non-payment even after going through several rounds of proving we had paid. The people in the business office were completely unhelpful in resolving the issues we had. Essentially everyone on our boat had the same issues so our experience was also the experience of others. It is too bad because the trip itself was really great.

We did a Boat Bike Tour on the Moselle 2 years ago and had a great experience, so we were excited to go on another trip. This time from Passau to Vienna. We were informed 3 days before leaving for the trip that our boat was damaged and would not be available for our trip. We were offered a land based (hotel) bike trip which we accepted. We were disappointed with the service provided. We, and many of our fellow travelers, felt like we were dumped into the hands of the group running the hotel based bike trip, whose employees were not very helpful. The initial briefing was short and not informative. It would have been helpful if a representative from Boat Bike Tours or SE Tours would have been present to answer questions and make sure that everything was in order.
The biking was fine, the hotels were generally good but the meals were not as good as we had previously.
Although we did get to know some of our fellow travelers, it was not the same level of camaraderie that we had found on the boat. We stayed at different hotels on several nights so it made it harder to
get to know one another.
Packing up our suitcases every morning and checking into a new hotel each night was a hassle. The bus transfers were very inconvenient and time consuming.
We very much missed our daily briefings on the boat to inform us of the route, suggestions of what to see and perhaps where
to stop and explore. I feel we missed a lot along the bike path by not having those briefings. But the route and the biking were good.
We had such a good experience 2 years ago on the Patria and told many of our friends about Boat Bike Tours, but after this
trip, we are more reserved with our recommendations.

Very enjoyable, great crew, fine dining. The scenery is amazing, what a great way to see the countryside. The rides were not strenuous and one of our guides filled us in on the history of the area. Our cabin was nice but we did have plumbing problems in the bathroom that needed attention during the trip.

We have taken 4 trips with various companies and this trip was by far the most professional and enjoyable. Steffie the owner and chef is not only a superior chef but manages the ship. Our guides were top notch—-Junqa and Juvanika ( sp?).
Great sites and rides. bikes were terrific, food exceptional and service of staff over the top!

We booked the Bruges - Amsterdam tour on the Magnifique III and everything was excellent. The crew was fantastic and provided attentive service and hospitality. The food was excellent and the lodging on the ship beautiful. Our guides were knowledgeable, entertaining and what I liked best, was they never made you feel like you "should" do anything you didn't want too, like cycle longer if you wanted to retire to the ship for an afternoon. There were some glitches with their email system before our trip but they were minor in comparison to the great experience we had on the tour.

The week of biking and still having a ship to eat and sleep in is quite unique. The ship was great, staff was friendly and the food was superb.

Had a great trip!
My siblings and I started planning this trip over a year ago. It was a trip in memory of our Dutch- Canadian parents whom we lost almost 2 years ago only 4 days apart. We wanted to see Holland the way they saw it: on bicycles! There were several times on our trip one of us would say mom or dad would have loved this. My planning for this trip had far more components as you will see in this review.
Our chef at the start of the trip was far superior in talent when preparing our food. There could be improvement expediting breakfast and lunch. There were several days were some people had no variety / option of breakfast as many people were taking breakfast and lunch items at the same time.
Mother Nature was on our side for the week providing warm weather and little rain. A cyclists dream. However there were days that the heat was so extreme and it became extremely uncomfortable in the NON air conditioned dining room and several people had to leave during dinners. On the other hand our guides did compensate for this weather and made more frequent water stops during the day to prevent dehydration. Like many couples I love cycling and my husband is not so keen with cycling. Not sure if possible in future to think about having more time for “stopping and smelling the roses” longer and tiny bit slower for those whose forte is not cycling but want to be with their spouse. When everyone else walked about the towns I just used my Handcycle. I had fully planned on using my Wheelchair buddies to haul my wheelchair with me. There were a couple of places where I needed a wheelchair and low and behold one appeared? To be honest my Handcycle has better shock absorber wheels than my wheelchair on cobblestones
More than pleased with the boat. I had requested to bring my Handcycle with me as I was not able to find anywhere to rent one in Holland. That being said I guess I totally forgot to tell Boat Bike that I use a wheelchair. Was fully expecting to use my crutches throughout the week but relieved to be able to use my wheelchair all week. Staff even attempted to make a small ramp for me when getting from stern deck to bar. It was about a 2-3” jump. Most days I could do the jump on my own. Ramp still needs tweaking. Was tickled pink they tried. We had room #6 on Magnifique III. The door is wider and very easy to enter with my wheelchair. I also brought my own shower chair. I am able to walk a little so using the bathroom was not a problem for me.
With a few modifications to this particular room you could actually call it ambulatory accessible. Putting a folding wall shower chair in the shower along with a couple of grab bars. As well adding a grab bar near the toilet area would make it more comfortable for someone with my level of ability.
Overall I had a fabulous week cycling with my siblings and extended family and friends and newly acquired friends from the boat! One more thing checked off my bucket list!

The boat that was my home for a week of boat/bike tour from Passau, Germany to Vienna, Austria, broke! The name of the boat that broke was called Arlene ll.
So we had to hotel hop, pack and unpack our bag every day.
It was hassle, stressful and made for a totally different trip.
Our guide for the week was absent and not available for the entire week.
We did not have daily briefings. We missed a lot of details, sights and previously scheduled events due to the confusion of hotel hopping, no briefing communication.
Every hotel we stayed at served pork and potatoes for dinner, same meal for a week.
It was unfortunate. I know it was not boat/bike fault for the boat breaking. A back up boat would of been a great option to have available to still experience what we all paid for.
The Danube tour will always have a “hitch” in my memory.
If your boat works, I am sure you will have a fabulous time!!

Trip was great as far as food, crew, and the rides chosen. My only complaint would be the lack of air conditioning on the boat. It was way too hot on boat after being hot all day. The cabins were supposed to have a but it was totally inadequate.

We had an awesome time on our boat bike holiday. The accommodations and meals were excellent. The staff were extremely organized and the cycling with tours was better than expected. Hans and Cory were a pleasure to ride with !! “Let’s Ride”
We look forward to returning to Boat Bike tours in the future .

This experience helped us visit the Belgium and the Netherlands in a unique way. Instead of tourist traps, we rode through the country and saw (and sometimes met) the people, fields, farms, small towns, and big cities-all in one week! The ship was fantastic, the staff was amazing, the bikes were tough, and the experience was Epic! I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
