Filed a ppi claim against them for charges. Promised to send a refund but still have not received my refund yet after months of contacting them.

Worst credit card company out there for there FORWARD card there is no credit limit increase for 2 years then after 2 years they still decline you and say try in 4 months which may still be declined. All payments on time never gone over the limit. Very poor customer service.

Low limit offered despite excellent salary and good credit history. Used card for 2 years paying in full, but all they offered was a limit increase with the same appalling interest rate rather than an upgrade to one of the deals offered for new customers.
Closed the card in favour of 2 years 0% card with HSBC.
Overseas call centres are polite but less than ideal in terms of getting clear information - they were contradicting what was stated on the website, and unable to answer questions. Clueless about direct debits.
I'm unlikely to consider a return to using a Barclaycard, tbh.

I have a business credit card with them and will be closing it. They have no app and their website is awful. You'd expect a huge company like Barclaycard to have a fully functional and user-friendly website but no. Logging in is always such a chore, as they make it so difficult, and once in, they always seem to have 'technical difficulties' that mean I usually can't do what I need to in any case.
I will be sticking with Capital On Tap, who have an app, easy login process, a user friendly website and much better FX rates and cashback rewards.

I'm a personal customer, I had a 0% interest credit card and the app makes it so easy to review my statements, pay bills and keep up with any offers. I love that you can look at your credit score under the app also.
After the interest free period a few years back there were no options to get another as an existing customer, when I phoned recently I was told that as a loyalty customer the APR on my platinum card would be reduced and there were now options to go interest free as an existing customer! Advisors on the end of the phone are very easy to speak to and helpful, never had a stress with them.

If l could give zero l would! I've had a Barclays card acct for 20 plus years! This last 12ths I've had dealing with them! Never again! Ringing up about fraud! This company is incompetent! You cant even get through! I was supposed to be sent a form three times from a call centre abroard with a stricked guideline attached. It never arrived! I was told different things and as ALWAYS passed from department to department! One of my biggest bugs is the fact the staff dont listen cant give any form of customer service often they're not listening to what you say. Too busy listening to the noise of what seems like a party going on in the background.
My latest encounter was an item not arrived. After 35 minutes of talking to ppl l asked for my statements to be sent so l could find the charge and take the matter further. The next day l got a phone call fr the complaints debt who was full of apologies and said they would send me a uk number to call when l found the charge!! That took almost Two weeks and it wasnt a uk number just a generic listing and the fraud debt is only open 9-,5 monday to friday! Laughable!
I rang and ended up abroard. With a man again! NOT LISTENING TO WHAT IM SAYING! After repeating myself and asking why he wasnt listening to what l was saying. He turned aggressive and rather abusive with on the phone! I reminded him l wouldnt tolerate him raising his voice in a threatening manner! And being abusive. He tried to continue with my dispute but l asked to speak to a manager! He was demanding why l wanted to speak with a manager l said to get this call listened to. I was subjected to being put on hold for several minutes with him constantly coming back and apologising. At one point he started movking me saying l was so polite and nice to him. After l raised my voice to him and reminded him l wont be abused over the phone! At that point l hung up!
I re dialed and spoke to this women! English! To be honest she seemed dazed and not in control of her thoughts. It was like l was speaking to someone else unrelated to barclaycard. I explained the story! My previous phone calls and today! Well this women couldnt even get my basic name correct. She struggled with the story l had to correct her in several places more than once! I was exasperated!!! Clearly she wasnt listening she sounded like she was half asleep and tbh not remotely interested. For such a basic short story this lady got it all wrong! I asked to speak to a manager again about 6 times! She heard me when l said manager! No issue their. So l was back on hold. Then this manager from your nottingham branch popped on! "We will have a civil conversation and their will be no raised voices" Her attitude was abusive and l was taken back by her comments! l didnt shout at the other women! I said I'm sorry! Why are you speaking to me like this she repeated herself with the same disdain inflected in her voice. Well l waited until this fish wife was finished and said how dare you come onto the phone abuse me whilst your staff arent doing their job! I asked to speak to a manager and they felt fit to call you! No wonder customer service is so poor! I said your manner is disgusting and offensive! It was! She apologised. I said l want to speak to someone higher than you and have these calls listen to! They were level 2 fraud she told me she COULDNT deal with my issue!!! Were now at it for 45minutes!! Still no one is remotely interested in any fraud matter or resolving it! Too much abusing their long term customers! She then said l had to be put through to a ul customer service debt and point blank refused to deal with the fraud.
Again on hold! I was put through to a call centre abroard. The man was very nice after being GUESS; YES ON HOLD for several minutes and dispite him returning to the call and apologising l hung up!!!
Now over an hour!! three incompendent rude staff. Clear the women told her boss l was shouting at her! And being abusive! l wasnt hense the abuse from her manager!
I rang the fraud number again! TRYING to log this issue!!! And got through to a very inexperienced customer service member!
Who was the staff member of the abusive MANAGER! WHO REFUSED TO RESOLVE MY FRAUD ACTION!!
l asked to speak to her as l wanted to know why she put me through to another call centre abroard after saying she would "put me through to customer service uk" To log a complaint and get my fraud matter resolved.
She wouldnt speak to me and instructed her staff member to deal with it.
He informed me a complaint had already been raised!!! Not by me but by the first chap l spoke to! He lied in his complaint as he knew l was going to complain against him. Saying l couldnt here him and l gave him my number to be contacted. Missing out the fact l wanted his call to be listened to after he was shouting and abusive to me! Sarcastic and kept sticking me on hold!!
I told the person No that isnt why l complained. So it looks like this inexperienced customer service chap is left to investigate my complaint!!! He was very polite but usnt confident and l doubt he will find his BOSS rude!!! do you!!!
He did eventually flag the fraud well item not turn up from the fraudulant company on the proviso I cancelled my barclaycard.
And await a replacement! Well at least l was informed they did this once before and didnt inform me or others!
His plan if action is to investigate and call me back on tuesday! I WILL BE TAKING THE MATTER FURTHER! As l will be fobbed off with poor excuses and poor customer service standards!!
I suggest ppl dont use Barclaycard once a great company to deal with, with excellent customer service standards! To 6 phone calls over a period of two weeks and over 1.5 hrs to resolve an issue. Rude and enept staff to lazy or couldnt be bothered to actually do their job!!
Plenty of other companies who have better customer service and standards.
Having worked with ppl all my life. Customer service is the key to any business. Ppl will pay more for good customer service! Seems Barclaycard is the next victim of standards now in the toilet waiting to be flushed away!
Dont have a fraudulant issue with barclaycard as they're not interested! It's your fault you have a fraudulant issues!
This year I've seen standards plumet to a level not acceptable by any company it shouldnt be on the owner if the acct to do all the work and still get abused!
Rude staffing isnt acceptable, it's clear they employ ppl with no training! And the standard of manager! well listening to her go on .
So I'll be clearly my balance and after 20 plus years cutting up my credit card company! For Baracard.

Somebody somehow got my credit card details and tried to spend £3,000 on online gambling. This also incurred cash advance fees from Barclay card amounting to several hundred pounds plus interest. Given the number of times Barclay card have had their "security team" call when I have purchased something online that was genuine you would have thought they might have called when for the first time ever I start online gambling. But no.
However the good news was that other than a few outstanding charges the matter was resolved and I was assured that if I left if I paid the balance it would work itself out by the next statement. It was but not until further charges and refunds happened over the next 4 weeks and trying to unpick it all using the barclay card customer service team/ fraud after care team was impossible.
Today I spoke to 3 people who couldn't answer my query on charges amounting to over £50 and really bizarrely the third lady I spoke said she knew what the answer is but that would have to speak to a dedicated team monday to friday! I lost the will to live at that point. Throughout the process their customer service team have been a shambles, their processes for dealing with fraud is hard to follow with charges, refunds and interest appearing all over the statement and in different sections. In the end I spent a couple of hours going through everything line by line over the last 2 statements creating a spreadsheet and I can almost get a balance between cost and refunds, I can't quite reconcile all the interest charges and frankly after several hours of trying to unpick it all and having spent several hours over the last 4 weeks talking to various different departments I have come to the conclusion that Barclaycard don't care and it is time to start using a different credit card.
Just awful customer service lacking coordination with spider's web of charges and fees whose design confuses and frustrates. So unnecessary and but has caused a huge amount of stress as well as wasted a huge amount of time.

What a rubbish update to the app. I used to be able to pay contactless. Now I cannot and fingerprint option dues not come up either. I have registered my card over several months and used pinsentry. Still can't use contactless. I phoned the app department and was told they are still working on the app. Really after over 3 months. I have reviewed this in the past and was hoping for a better outcome. Today I called them and the person stated that although contactless wasn't working the fingerprint option should. He then said he was going to transfer me and promptly placed me in the queue to select option for telephone banking. What a joke. After being a loyal Barclay card holder for over 40 years I'm finally going to shove them.
Update 15 Jan20. I was asked to call the digital helpline again. Again no solution. Wasting my time.

Pretty awful service. Always takes at least 20mins to get through to the support team and I can't access my account until a new pin is sent. This could be 5 to 7 business days!. Not very efficient.

Avoid!!! Worse customer service. Called waited on hold. Eventually someone answered from their call centre in India. Really bad English just saying call back in an hour as systems down. No way wasting more time and speaking to staff that struggle to speak clearly

Barclays customer service is awful. They make it as difficult as possible to pay off your credit card! Call centre staff not explaining what is going on and making out they may not allow you to make the full payment. Refusing to make notes that you have asked to be put on your account. Clear lack of knowledge and training. Have asked her to make a note of what had happened on call and she refused to write down everything I said. On top of that they have taken full payment from me and will still be taking extra money from my DD next week. If I were to do that they would ask me for interest for taking out extra money!

I have had a Barclaycard for about six years, never been late never over the limit, We spent money on a new kitchen, and put the house for sale. I then got an e mail regarding persistent debt, I looked into it, as I was only making the minimum direct debt, so I uped my payments, when we sold the house I paid off the card down to a balance of £180.00 and they closed my account, no notice no letter no explanation.

AVOID *** Had this card now over 12 months nearly 2 years always paid it off quick or in full only got a 1.000 pounds on it I wanted them to increase my credit limit but they wont even though they can see it's been paid off every month in full so applying for another credit card with more credit wouldnt recommend this card due to poor credit limit AVOID ***

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.
This is a company that thrives on your ignorance. I asked them to close my account 4 months after receiving their MasterCard.
They said they would close it and refund my $99 "membership" fee.
Unbeknown to me they kept charging me for 3 years $99 membership fee per year.
I never used this card.
They refuse to refund the $300 that they stole from me.
I'm taking them to SMALL CLAIMS COURT.

Barclaycard overseas call centre is the worst thing u will ever deal with.
They don't understand a thing.
You try to tell them they have a problem with their website & they can' even forward the message on to their IT team, instead ringing us back up at night & saying we must talk to IT team directly.
You can't put a £ sign in their messaging service as it is a special character.

Was with them for over 30 years - had an issue around balance transfer offers that stopped after many years (despite being offered as ongoing for new customers) - ok that happens - but could not get a straight answer as to why despite speaking to at least 3 different so called customer service people . In the end they said they could have someone else look into the issue but I would get the same answer. What kind of customer service is that . I cancelled my card after 30 years of being a loyal happy customer which didn't bother them in the least. Didn't feel like they listened to me or even tried to address my concerns - sad to say but after all those years as a customer I would tell anyone to avoid them given the state of their current customer service - there are much better companies out there (as I have now discovered since leaving Barclaycard)

while in flight on American Airlines they announced they had a super Credit card deal of 60,000 miles , free bag check and priority checking, only good if I did it right then. After a week of not hearing if they received my application, I called up and was told not received yet. I did not like my SS# floating around in outer space. He said it takes a few weeks, and suggested I call American airlines. I did. I was told that they were not connected to Barclays, but they allowed the stewards to promote the cards, and they are paid by Barclays. Called Barclay back , sat on hold for 25 mins only to be told it would take 3=4 weeks. Yesterday, I called Barclays credit dept, and was told not received. I no longer want this card and was told if I called when it was received they would cancel the application. Called today at 8:30AM and was told it was approved today and could not be undone.Cancelled it, horrible customer service, I can't thrust them. Now my credit will be affected. BTW this was Barclays red aviator card which charges $99 annually as soon as you are approved. customer service reps and credit reps either don't know, or don't care what is going on...

Worst credit card company requested credit limit increase As I am planning to travel since I have retired. I was project Director for international company. I was told they unable to increase .. All payments on time via direct debit from bank never gone over the limit. Very poor customer service.
I will consider changing after over 20 years with them
