My first appointment was on 12th of August. It’s 23rd of September and ... no news. Emailed, got no answer, texted last week, the lady said “end of weekend “. Nope. Texted today, the answer was “system troubles , work more on Wednesday “. Are you really serious??? In 6 weeks waiting for an answer, lost money & customers. I’m charged for transactions, all my money go through their account, they earn, I lose. I’m going to close all my accounts with BANK OF SCOTLAND, there is nothing serious with them. Disgusting

I had great difficulty getting back onto my online banking and I am not the best with technology of any kind! A young man named Joseph in my local Castle Douglas branch spent an hour with me giving up his lunch break to make sure it was sorted! He never complained and was genuinely the most helpful bank teller I have ever met! He went above and beyond and I just wish there were more folk like him. Thank you Joseph at Castle Douglas! You are a credit to Bank of Scotland!

Been a customer for years but went in to change bags of £2 coins to be told you can only pay in 10 in one day never heard the likes No problem wont need to pay in any again account closed in process of moving to another bank

The attitude of the workers on the phone and in the branch is honestly disgusting. They are the most frustrating people to talk to always contradicting everything that they are saying and putting unnecessary blocks on mine and other family members bank accounts making it impossible to actually use my account or spend my money at all. I'm switching my bank account and if you are looking to set up and account with this bank I honestly would recommend looking elsewhere.

This company is a shambles, they leave you on hold for 25 minutes at a time and then when you eventually get to a adviser they pass you on to someone else claiming that it’s not their problem, also when you make a complain or have a genuine issue they ignore it and push it back, been in contact with them several times and couldn’t even have the courtesy to cancel the card because they haven’t resolved the issue at hand.

Was told I had to open another business account after becoming a limited company.
OK, fair enough.
Now they have refused to give me a debit card for the new account.
I asked how am I meant to run a business without a debit card? I was told I could have a cash card instead.
I explained that a cash card is of no use to me as I make no cash transactions and would never need to withdraw cash.
I do however need a debit card to pay for;
International shipping + VAT + customs duties
Shopify + Amazon fees
to name a few.
I asked, why has it taken a few weeks and for me to complain about not having received the card to be told I was no longer eligible?
They even had the chance to tell me when I had to visit my local branch to pay a 30% deposit ($21,000 order) by T/T (and charge me £200 for the pleasure).
Not happy and have already made plans to switch, a complete joke.

Send a named change in took months to do when I was said and confirmed it would take a week or so. Lost business because of this and a they had to cheek to give me a £25 credit which is laughable as the money i lost due to them not changing this name when they said they would is thousands. They even told me after chasing it up for the 100th time that it wasn’t even processed and still in someone’s tray. Passed from pillar to post with such a simple process supposedly. Avoid this bank they have no care and the business managers do nothing I don’t know why they even have them total waste of time.

Dealing with an absolute nightmare PPI scam company (Allay) and rang BOS to ensure no fraudulent activity had occurred on my accounts.
Spoke to two employees on their outsourced helpline about the matter (I rang on two separate occasions as I was so scared) and they were absolutely lovely and put my mind at ease. Rather than chucking me on hold/going quiet while they accessed various systems, they chatted away about mundane things as I was pretty freaked out about potential fraud by Allay.

We've been banking with BoS for over thirty years - ever since they came south from Scotland. They were exceptional until they joined up with Halifax when things started to go wrong. BoS have a banking app for business which is brilliant - the only problem is that for a group of people, including us, (they say around 50 in total) the app will not work - it's impossible to log on. Normally the app makes it easy to quickly log on with a finger print, move money and pay bills so much more quickly and more conveniently from anywhere world wide. I spoke with them today for the tenth time and despite being without the app for four months they are unable to give any news on when/if they can sort things out. They've tried to give us £75 in recompence which is like a garage offering a customer £75 because they can't get the brakes to always work.

Why on earth has the customer service desk in the East Kilbride branch changed, you stand and wait until you called over to the desk no barrier down the middle so you can hear what the other person is talking about. I was in there yesterday about my mortgage and a lady with a young girl was standing at the next desk so could hear what the teller was asking me such as my d.o.b , home tele number, when did you take your mortgage out why ask it’s all the screen did I bank with them I said no , I bank with the other bank that broke off with you and their are just as bad as the bank of Scotland not sure who is best it looks as if they work in the same way, please bring back a proper area where you can speak in private, what she should done is taking me into a room to discuss the matter.

They keep reducing their rates on Classic Vantage, and generally savings rates are not excellent, but Bank of Scotland has good customer service, are quick to answer the phone and helpful with dealing with queries (I’ve discussed mortgages and debit card problems with them), have an excellent full featured app that is easy to use and doesn’t require annoying card readers or digital tokens, and share a branch network with Halifax. One thing I noticed is that sometimes their products are worse than Halifax equivalents, e.g. BOS 2 year fixed rate ISA is 0.65% vs 0.70%, or the fee for BOS Platinum is £19 v £17 for Halifax Ultimate Reward (which comes with emergency home cover as well).

Phoned up to pay the full amount on my credit card because I know longer wanted credit. Paid the credit card off and cancelled the card over the phone. A month later find out my account is in arrears and I am being charged interest. Avoid these clowns.

Made a compliant on 21st may. Called a few days later to enquire about the complaint only to be told that there is an 8 week turnaround if you have a complaint and even though I was on the call for 35 minutes waiting to get through that was my choice to call and no apology for the hold time.
Shocking behaviour and the fact they don't even bother to respond to trustpilot reviews shows the arrogance of the bank of Scotland

Although it should have never happened I was amazed. As the deadline drew near I thought about the loans and Cc I had had over the past 20 years and made a request through responder about ppi. Within 48 hours I had a letter saying the case was being reviewed a week later I was due a refund and today the cheque arrived. As I suggested the mis selling should never have happened but the way they reacted and processed the claim was amazing meanwhile nationwide are lying about sending out forms to look at the claim after 3 weeks.
