I have just been to see Dr Richards and Aggie for my first consultation and I still can't stop crying. I wanted an areola reduction as I have always been unhappy with the size of them. I was so anxious about having to show strangers my chest and I left that place feeling like I have the ugliest breasts imaginable.
Instead of just discussing an areola reduction, they pointed out that one breast is bigger than the other and that I need a mastopexy to get a good result. There is a small difference in size, but to me it's hardly noticeable and it has never bothered me. Now it does. I know the shape of them isn't the "Hollywood standard", but I'd be happy with them if my areolas were smaller. I might consider a slight enlargement when I get older, but that's it. Now however, I feel so embarrassed and selfconsious that I am not sure what to do with myself.
Instead of being quoted a surgery that would be under local anaesthetics and a bit over £2000, I was quoted £7440 for a mastopexy which is a big surgery. I can just about afford the areola reduction, so now I have been left feeling like the only surgery I can afford is not going to make me beautiful enough. I have just broken up with my partner and this was going to be my treat to myself for getting through it and feeling better about my breasts.
I was told Dr Richards would not do just the areola reduction as the results would not turn out as good as they can. Honestly, isn't that for me to say? I don't expect to come out perfect after an areola reduction. I just wanted to make it easier for myself to appreciate my breast and not feel ashamed of the areolas.
I'm not sure if this is what happens at most clinics in order to make more money, or if my breast are just that horrendous looking that I need all that work on them. For my own sake, I will see other surgeons for their opinions. I have done my research and know that the result I want can be achieved with an areola reduction, so I will just have to keep looking for a place where the beauty standards are a little bit more down to earth.
So disappointed and disheartened. ;(

This review is based on Auora Clinics - for the Princes Risborough & Northampton clinics. I was ill advised for breast augmentation surgery for asymmetrical breasts. The resulting surgery has given me larger, more prominent, asymmetry. On following up, it was stated that I should have been advised a mastopexy/reduction + augmentation. I am now £5k out of pocket with breasts that look worse than before. My surgery was booked via MyBreast who have repeatedly requested my notes from the clinic so they can discuss funding revision surgery with other surgeons. It has been months of chasing now, and Aurora STILL haven't sent my notes over, when the meeting is due tomorrow. Thanks for ruining my confidence, my resolution, and my life Aurora Clinic!.
Edit 27th October - Since the initial review, they offered only half the information required - 4 weeks later and yet again we're still constantly chasing them up for the rest of the notes to no avail. Please beware if you have any post op problems- they don't give a crap!

Mr Richards, Aggie and their fabulous team were professional, friendly, caring, informative, understanding, compassionate, and very welcoming from start to finish. I truly felt in my heart i was in the right place from my first consultation so there was no hesitation in making my decision to use Aurora. It was pleasant, relaxing experience as i felt i was with friends throughout my journey with Mr Richards and his team.
My expectations of my final look has more than been achieved as Mr Richards and Aggie fully understood what look i was after. Its better than i could of imagined. The healing process wasn't half as bad as i had imagined, i got through the first night in Three Shires Hospital at Northampton with the help of the lovely nurses and i can exactly say i didn't feel any pain or discomfort at all. Once home i kept my pain Killers(ordinary Paracetamol) topped up, never had any sleepless nights with help from my "V" shaped Pillow. My Friends and Family are amazed of how quickly i healed. Being a dog groomer i didn't go back to work till week 3, by week 4 i had started to do basic exercises (mainly leg work) Changing of the dressing was easily done once demonstrated on the post op appointment . The 6 weeks healing period flew by for me with very minimal pain or discomfort. I will differently recommend Adrian Richards and his team to anyone, even using them again for any future procedures for myself. (Surgery was Bilateral Breast Augmentation + Mastopexy)

I had earlobe reconstructive surgery via Aurora Clinics with the Cadogan clinic on the 12th of September at half 3 and was told to get to the appointment for at least half an hour prior.
I wasn’t seen until half 4, after waiting in reception for an hour and a half – at the time the reception staff were very apologetic and I later discovered that the holdup was due to Aurora and the mess up of bookings - My information provided to the clinic was completely wrong.
My surgery was fantastic and I cannot fault the work of Mr William Van Niekerk in the slightest, Mr Van Niekerk and the anaesthetist team were amazing.
However, following on from the surgery I wasn’t told about the procedure of having my stitches removed or whether they were dissolvable.
Having done research prior to the procedure I gathered the stitches were dissolvable and didn’t think anything of it. Three weeks past and I couldn’t see any change to my stitches, although the wound had healed. I called the Cadogan Clinic and asked what sort of stitches I had. I was later called back by a Nurse called Monica and asked to come to the clinic urgently the next day for my stitches to be removed – 7th October 2016.
My stitches were supposed to have been taken out 7-14 days later. My stitches were not taken out until 25 days later.
I was informed by the Nurse at the Cadogan Clinic that this could have had a detrimental effect on my wound and could have caused an infection. The nurse also informed me that my records show I wasn’t given a follow up appointment and this should have been a red flag. Monica was a great help, very gentle during the procedure and also very apologetic.
Now, I’m not sure whom this blame falls upon, however I would assume that Aurora Clinic deals with many surgical procedures and there should be a protocol for stitches being removed/appointment for removal/chase up calls etc.
All in all my earlobes look fantastic however I feel the service patients receive should be looked into, whether my experience is a rare occasion however it has made me think twice these procedures in the future.

I went into the clinic yesterday to have a skin peel on my back. I was so impressed with the knowledge and expertise Vicky has. She talked me through all of the available options and the ways in which each of them would work. All of the staff made me feel so welcome and at ease. The treatment experience was very relaxing and I am already beginning to see the results! I am now looking forward to planning my next treatment! Thank you to the team!

I had a nipple reduction at aurora earlier this year. The actual experience itself was fantastic, from the lovely lady on the reception, the fantastic nurses, through to the friendly surgeon himself.
However, the cold hard facts are that I have just a touch under £2000 less in my savings account and in the months that have since passed, I have had it said to me that my nipples look 'weird' and things along the lines of 'why are your nipples so erect?', 'is it cold in here?' etc etc. Things I had hoped were comments of the past.
I am not entirely surprised by the great feedback that aurora gets. Perhaps I was just a one off and am too hard to please, but there can be no doubt that one nipple in particular does not look at all natural and the numerous comments I have had in the last few months, let alone what I am anxiously waiting to hear again, whether wearing a t shirt or not, suggest I am not being totally unfair.
I rarely give reviews for things online, however I felt that if I was yet to undergo the surgery and someone had had a similar experience to the one I actually had, then I would have rather I could hear about it before booking in an appointment.
In conclusion, I would recommend anyone in similar shoes to mine to book an initial consultation with your aurora surgeon and really, really talk things though prior to the surgery (something I couldn't really do due simply due geographic issues and doubling my resulting train costs).
I wouldn't want them to be as disappointed and slightly sad as I am currently.
Hope this helps anyone in a similar position.

I decided I wanted a breast augmentation and I arranged my initial consultation for July. I was very happy with the initial consultation and decided I wanted to proceed with the operation. I was able to arrange the surgery for August where I was treated by Mr Richard and Aggie at the Saxon clinic in Milton Keynes.
I felt the actual procedure and the healing process were explained to me very well which helped me prepare, and to know what to expect. I work as a doctor so I understand the importance of having all the information prior to undergoing the surgery.
On the day of surgery, everything ran very smoothly, I was in and out of theatre in an hour and back to my room in 1.5 hours. Aggie and Adrian Richards, and the anaesthetist came to see me after and assured me everything had gone well.
I am now 7 weeks post op and I am delighted with the results. I went from an A cup to a very full C/D cup which is exactly what I wanted. Both Aggie and mr Richards explained the implant shapes and sizes and explained the type of approach that would best suit my needs. I ended up having 390cc implants above the muscle.
I was uncomfortable for a few days after the operation however simple pain relief was adequate to sort this and I was able to go back to nightshift 6 days later.
I would highly recommend aurora clinics and if I need anything done in future I would definitely consider coming back to this clinic.
My implants look very natural and have given me the exact look I had always considered and I am so glad I went ahead with the operation.

I had my procedure just over 3 weeks ago the procedure didn't take very long less than an hour.. The surgeon spoke about everything with me and then during the procedure continued to talk to me to keep my mind off what was going on.
Once finished he said about keeping Intouch and sending pictures of the healing process (I work abroad) and he then left. I found my way to reception thinking they would want more details or give me something incase I needed to ask anymore questions. Or even ask if I wanted to book a follow up. Nope they just sent me on my way home.
I had a little pain but that was lessened by tablets! The next day I was sore but I had planned on this so I had the whole day in bed resting.
I took my own dressings off it was no trouble really easy to do.
My only downside is that I have had abit of pain and my stitches that have been tied off I can now see. It worries me and I did feel like I didn't know who to talk to as I had not been given any numbers or email to be able to talk to someone! In the end I had to tweet aurora! And they gave me a number. I spoke to a nurse who told me she wasn't worried about the pain or the stitches. But I could book at a clinic anywhere of my choice and see them if needs be. My only problem with this is how do I book a follow up at a clinic. And two it's easy to say don't worry about pain in a breast when it's not yours.
I recently spoke to a few friends who have had similar procedures with different companies and they have all been given a number to phone anytime they wanted to ask a question or if they had any complications. So I really feel this would be beneficial for this company to do. Obviously you do have a number but I wasn't aware of it and it was not specifically for any questions or for any worries.
I also think a forum for each surgery would be amazing too! I'd love to be able to talk to other women and men who have had the same procedure! And to know if the results lasted etc.
My experience overall was ok. The surgeon was nice and very realistic about the complications and that fact the nipple can re invert. The reception staff I wouldn't rate as I felt like they looked down at me and seemed very stuck up. (Sorry to say) and then the after care I have been upset about because I have felt like I have nowhere to go. Infact I was going to see my own doctor to see what he though.
One amazing person from your team has to be verity who booked everything for me! Such a warm welcoming friendly woman! She's definitely an asset to the aurora team.
This is a good company so please don't be put off! But for me I would have just liked to have felt as if I knew where to go to for help.

I've recently had a couple of consultations with a surgeon which have gone really well, and I'm very keen to book - however, I have been asking head office at Aurora for some basic information about their policy for if something goes wrong, and I have not been given an answer. I first asked the question back in August and was told I had to wait until someone was back from holiday. Weeks went by and I've chased and still not heard back. Surely this is basic information? Most of the big firms will have this on their website, I.e. free replacement and surgery in the event of capsular contractureor rupture if within a set period. If I can't get an answer to this question I'm concerned that if something did go wrong would my concerns go unanswered?

I've been using Aurora for the last 9 months and very happy with the results. Highly recommended!
My main skin concern was milia and congestion on my face. Before Aurora I tried many different products and treatments, none of which were effective.
At Aurora I had a course of professional skincare, microdermabrasion and chemical peels which helped a lot. I’ve noticed a dramatic difference which I am very pleased about.
I now have regular treatments (every 6-8 weeks) to maintain the results.
All Aurora staff are very helpful and knowledgeable with an individualised approach to each customer.
A few of my friends use Aurora too, and are very happy with the results.

After 4 years deliberating having breast surgery (uplift & implant) I decided on Aurora, staff were all very friendly, helpful & happy to answer all my questions/concerns and made me feel completely at ease. My consultant was Mr Adrian Richards he listened to what I expected from breast surgery & discussed what was achievable for me therefore importantly I had a realistic view of what the out come would be. Everything was fantastic from pre op appointments, surgery to post op after care. Mr Richards achieved way beyond my expectations my result is perfect, re:size, volume, upper pole fullness and scars are almost invisible already after 6wks. Big thank you to Mr Richards & his wonderful team.

I can't fault Aurora at all everyone is so friendly and kind. I was made very comfortable before my surgery and Mr Richards made sure my partner got a call from himself to let my partner know I was ok and the surgery went well and that I am on my way back to my room. I'm very very pleased with my results so far I'm 9 days post op. Aftercare so far has been very good. Would totally recommend to anyone.

Really great pre surgery, answered all my questions really well, felt safe and in good hands.
Aftercare wasn't great, first check up the nurse didn't check/change dressings at all, that was followed by an infection that could have been prevented if she did more than glance at me. This area has now scarred worse than all other areas. Saw several nurses who all had different methods/opinions which wasn't so great, 2 nurses later I had a nurse who looked after me really well.
I'm not happy with part of my result, have to wait months for appointment with my surgeon, who could have just pointed out the issue in the first place instead of skimming over the issue with light hearted excuses.
Phoned in the main office to see if it was possible to get seen by someone else in the mean time or not and no one called me back.
I've waited a while to post a review as I was hoping everything would be sorted out, and I had chosen Aurora partly because of the amazing reviews so I really felt hopeful it would get sorted, but it is not happening! So my over all feeling towards Aurora is not the best at all.

I had been wanting a breast reduction for many years, so it was really important to me that I choose a surgeon who would actually listen, give me sound advice and make me feel comfortable. After a couple of really horrible consultations with other well known clinics, I came to Aurora and knew immediately I had found my surgeon. Adrian Richards and all the nurses are so unbelievably caring and understanding. I didn't feel like I was just another name on the list. They actually listened to me rather than talking down at me or telling me what I needed.
I was really nervous the day of my surgery, but felt so well looked after, all my worries melted away. I couldn't have received better care, both before and after my surgery. Mr Richards and Aggie came to speak with me before the surgery to answer any questions and they came by afterwards to check that I was doing ok. I'm now 6 weeks post op and absolutely thrilled with the results. It turned out even better than I expected. So happy with my choice! The only regret I have is not doing it sooner!

Aurora were so easy and helpful right from the start, from my consultation to the day of my op, I couldn't have had an easier experience. My surgeon Adrian Richards, nurses Sinead abd Aggie and staff at the hospital were all so lovely throughout and made me feel so at ease. Best thing I have ever done and wish I done it sooner, really recommend Aurora

I was not feeling confidant in the way my face was looking so decided to have some filler at aurora Clinic the paddocks princess Risborough
Unfortunately I did not get the results I was hoping for and bruised quite badly.
I went back a month later and left the clinic feeling very unhappy and even less confidant than I was initially .
I have since spoken with the clinic regarding this and feel that there customer care is very poor and the problems not dealt with
Regarding the reply I have just received
On trust pilot from Aurora clinics
There is no excuse for rudeness from there staff
It's a shame they didn't mention before the treatment that I was not suitable for the treatment and I was told that I could come back
For more treatment in a few months

My experience with Aurora Clinics was excellent. I would recommend them to anyone considering having breast reduction surgery. My surgeon was Mr Adrian Richards and he was so gentle and approachable, putting me at ease straight away. He listens to all your concerns. I am ecstatically happy with my new (smaller) breasts, wish I'd done it years ago.

I had a breast reduction surgery by Mr Richards at the beginning of March 2016. The whole experience was very professional and the results of the reduction have been astonishingly good. I was not convinced that I would be left with a nice breast shape after the operation, but I am very pleased to report that not only have I gone down from a J cup to a DD cup but I have gained a lovely round, pert feminine set of breasts which I am absolutely delighted with. I can't actually believe that I waited so long. Mr Richards is a fantastic surgeon - its hard to describe the difference he has made to my life but I no longer suffer with back pain, skin infections and I am no longer constantly trying to cover up how big and saggy my breasts are. He took really good care of me and made the whole process really easy. A word of gratitude to Aggie as well - who is without a doubt the nicest healthcare professional I have ever dealt with - she took the time to make sure that I had recovered from my operation and also gave me practical tips, advice and re-assurance when I needed it. Thanks so much to everyone at Aurora - I would definitely recommend them.

I had my planned cosmetic procedure this year, January 2016, which all went according to plan. The care, support, advice and treatment were excellent and I could not fault any part of the process. The commitment of the staff was very good. Both my husband and I were kept informed throughout the treatment process, when we asked any questions there was no hesitation to answer our concerns. My surgery went through without any problems and I am very pleased about the result.

From the beginning I felt I was in good hands, through all of my appointments I was given the information that I needed, and given opportunities to ask questions or make extra appointments to see Aggie or Mr Richards.
Mr Richards was very thorough and calm which really helped me relax.
My sizing appointment with Aggie was especially important because I was very nervous about the operation and final outcome but Aggie was amazing and put my mind to rest and helped me select the correct size for my shape.
The pre op and procedure went really well, almost too well (I kept preparing myself for the pain to kick in) but thanks to the brilliant nurses at the Three Shires Hospital I was well looked after and prepared for my return home. I took things easy and I knew I had many people I could contact if I needed advice or help with my aftercare.
My follow up appointments went well and again I was reassured about everything and checked thoroughly.
I was so happy with the whole experience I have already recommended the clinic and Mr Richards to a couple of friends!
