Excellent visit to Chatsworth House today. Despite the poor weather, we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It cost us only £4.00 to park in the Carlton Lees car park. They even provided clean portable toilets. The lady who welcomed us was very polite and professional and a real credit. There was plenty of social distancing and at no time did we feel under any pressure to hurry our visit. It puts the National Trust to shame. You couldn't find a greater difference between two organisations. It's clear the Chatsworth Estate values their visitors. Thank You Very Much.

Can I suggest before visiting for the Xmas Market check the car parking prices so you are fully informed before arrival with no nasty surprises.

Been here many times, but there's always something new, be it on-loan items in the house or displays in the gardens. Took an American guest over yesterday, and she was absolutely spellbound/gobsmacked.
Take time to talk to the staff members inside the house if you can. They're very approachable and full of information and tales,

I have visited many a stately home and thought I’d best visit Chatsworth as it was in the area and also due to its Pride and Prejudice connection. I had read the blurb and thought it looked rather grand. Well, the drive down to the entrance is awe inspiring and took my breathe away. Chatsworth IS grand and the best stately home I have ever visited. The gardens were a joy to walk around, I came in October, so not too many flowers out, but the fountains, trees, greenhouses and different areas of the land were beautifully kept and a joy to stroll in. The atmosphere was relaxed and it was lovely to see people bringing their dogs and toddlers for an afternoon meander. I went on the buggy tour which explained the history of the gardens and gave me my bearings.
I also had the Belvedere Tower tour which again gave a history of the views from the top. Very interesting. The house is beautiful. Each room had a story to tell and the information boards in each room were very handy (I wish every tourist museum/house had them). The staff were so knowledgable and fun to talk to. The restaurants are cleverly placed in the old stables and the food was very good. Overall a fabulous day which exceeded my expectations. The grounds were immense so could have stayed much longer.

Visited Chatsworth, amazing restoration work has been completed. We had not visited for several years. We were very impressed with the house and gardens. The sculptures in the garden are superb blending old with contemporary. Will certainly be visiting again

Got there at promoted opening time of 11am to find loads of people swarming about and lots of cars in the car park. It looked like they had been there for a while. So Chatsworth, is your website hiding another option: Come and walk around the estate for the price of parking your car? The gardens were lovely [and that's what we bought a ticket for] but we actually spent more time just walking round the estate and having some teas/coffees.

The ticket bought online is not exchangeable or refundable. I get the idea of not providing refund, but offering exchange or at least at a small fee would make this sounds much more friendly.
We bought three tickets but due to unforeseen reason we could not make it. £63 dumped. Very unhappy.

A fantastic day out with my daughter and grandchildren. We opted for the farmyard and adventure playground as it was such a hot day and I knew the children would be fine as the playground has numorous shaded areas. We booked online the day before and therefore qualified for free parking, and I also added gift aid as every bit goes back to make Chatsworth the wonderful place it is. The children had a wonderful time, and I really didn't want the day to end. I'm sure we'll be back very soon.

The refurbished house is gorgeous and lovely to see all the information and explanations/quotes around the rooms. Facilities are all excellent and lots of neat, clean attention to detail. Plenty of outdoor seating - capacious benches all around with superb views. Friendly, cheerful and available staff. Plenty of loos all easily accessed.
Please improve/increase signage en route from motorway. Also more signage around the house and grounds would be useful.
Booked a table for afternoon tea (5 of us) at 4pm but had to chase it at 4.30 as still hadn't appeared! 10 more minutes of kerfuffle while sharing plates were evenly distributed. Good to have options for minor adjustments to the menu for this as 2 guests had dietary issues and these were efficiently sorted.

I have visited Chatsworth before many years and had forgotten just how beautiful the House and Gardens are.
Every member of staff we met where so helpful and friendly and had such great knowledge about the House.

For me Chatsworth is best viewed from a distance. The heavy interior, with the exception of the delightful library, is not for me. And a rather sad tale of a Duke who built and built hoping the King would visit but was disappointed. More money than sense. Today's Chatsworth is, probably rightly, very commercial and the personal feel of say Haddon Hall is absent.

We visited the house and gardens as a birthday celebration for my mum's 90th Birthday and loved it. As you can imagine my mum is not as steady on her feet now and does have trouble with stairs but none of this posed a problem at Chatsworth. The staff were so helpful, taking Mum in and out of lifts to avoid stairs and generally looking after us, and allowing her to sit down in different rooms to rest for a few minutes. It was a very hot day and after the house visit we decided to go up to the stables for lunch but it was little too far for mum to walk, not a problem ,again the staff took over and radioed for a buggy to meet us and take us up to the stables and again to take us back to the gardens for our arranged buggy tour of the gardens. The tour was brilliant and the gardens spectacular but what really made that tour for us was the guide, Mr Dave Stone,he was brilliant, gave us plenty of information as we went round and was so nice to Mum, he definately made the day for us. he answered any questions we threw at him and was so respectful and helpful with Mum. All the staff helped make Mum's special day just a bit more special.Every member of staff we met wished her a Happy Birthday and looked after us so well. It was our first visit to the house but it definately won't be our last. The staff are amazing and a credit to Chatsworth and Mr Stone is a treasure to match any of those in the house. Again thank you all for making Mum's day so memorable. We loved the whole experience and would recommend all to go , disabilities don't pose a problem, the staff sort out anything you need. Thank you again.

We visited just the gardens. The scale is impressive and we were particularly amazed by the rock garden. As a relatively keen gardener, I loved the kitchen garden but was pleased to see that it wasn’t perfect and there were weeds and signs of pest attack on some crops!
Our only disappointment was that there were no pies in the Stables restaurant at lunch time!

This was the most perfect day out. We booked the visit online and the lady at the ticket desk advised us on how to arrange a guided tour of the house and a buggy tour of the gardens. The arrangements are well thought out and the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed every minute of the seven hours we spent there.

This was my 1st visit to Chatsworth as a newly signed up 'Friend' and the Garden Party on Friday evening was a super event. Very relaxed, with continuous music and I sat with my guests on the lawn. You would just never know that it was fully booked with an attendance of 4,000. so well organised everything happened seamlessly. I am so pleased to be a friend and have the opportunity to visit far more frequently. This was the result of attending the RHS Flower Show last month which was a fabulous experience and I could hardly manage it back to the car with all the beautiful plants that I invested in for new areas of my garden.

A really lovely evening at Chatsworth. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the experience. Shame about the fireworks but totally understand the reason for cancelling them with the weather being so hot. Great to see the children entertained with exceptional face painting and the balloon craft objects were amazing. Well done to all the staff and entertainers. Looking forward to next years already.
