Month of Months of dissapointment. Sizes are tiny compared to other boxes, themes are uninspiring. So much shampoo and conditioner even after I selected the bald option! I have had birchbox for over a year I'd say I was unhappy with it after the 3rd month I just kept hoping for better. Lack of makeup, same brands so many mists and creams. I liked face maks but they stopped putting them in. The make up they did send I ended up giving to my neigbours kid because it was so bad. Huge waste of money. Much better boxes out there.

I have really enjoyed my Birchbox subscription, recommended by a friend. Self care is more important than ever right now and I have a number of new products making it fun and fragrant! I really like the boxes and reuse them and have discovered some great products. It has been a welcome and much needed treat.

I signed up for birchbox for a couple of months, and although i wasn't impressed with the content of the box (all sample sizes, didn't seem worth the money), I had no issues with delivery or cancelling my subscription.

Initial impressions are not good at all. I purchased a six month subscription by mistake whereas a Gift Card was required. I attempted to make contact immediately after purchase to tell them not to send the first box as it would be worthless to me. Kept attempting to contact for a few days after the purchase but not one reply and lo and behold the first box showed up. Seems promising to start but reading reviews of the actual product declining of late and with no-one seemingly behind the scenes running things then I would steer clear for now. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised by a swift solution to my dilemma. I'll update this review to suit. I'll never understand the lack of importance that some companies place on after sales service.

I bought a 3 month only subscription to Birchbox earlier this year. I wasn’t very impressed with the boxes when compared with the Glossybox subscription I had previously, so I was glad when the subscription came to an end. But sadly, Birchbox decided to sign me up for another 3 month subscription without my consent, using my card details that they had stored without my consent. Not only this, but they doubled the price that I had originally paid for my 3 month purchase, so I was hit with a shock bill of £38 without warning. They don’t allow you to remove your card details and there is nowhere on the site that allows you to cancel. I’ve been trying to contact them for over a week and they simply spam my email inbox with sales messages and seem to have no intention of refunding me. Now I have to cancel my bank card as they will continue to steal money if I don’t. Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS.

5* experience. I'm saddened to see the influx of negative reviews lately for Birchbox and don't think they're totally deserved.
I've only been a customer a short period of time (Jan 2020) and I have found the service to be reliable and a bit of a treat. At £10 (2.95 delivery on top), you don't expect a totally premium service but you get 5 items and sometimes a bonus item, which are generally lightly tailored to you via their profile quiz.
You also get the choice to pick their out of two options on the focus product each month and all in all I've definitely not had a bad service. Particularly during lockdown, the company made every effort to keep people in the loop while likely working with reduced staff and trying to take their safety into account. So while the usual delivery time in normal circumstances would be billing on the 1st of the month and delivery generally by the 10th(give or take) it did move back to delivery occurring by around the 26th.
I think they managed to the absolute best of their ability and I applaud them for that. My only feed back would be to consider a change of courier, as this company is another matter altogether and so many have issues with them primarily(not just with Birchboxes parcels). I think a change to a more reliable service would help but I count myself lucky I have a reliable delivery driver for my area.

Don't subscribe, they're the worst subscription box out there. I was still waiting for my first box to arrive by the time they had taken a second payment out for the next box and when you finally get a response from them they are the most useless people if you go to them for help. The products weren't even worth it.

I've been a subscriber for a while now but I don't think I'll be staying much longer. The selection is getting worse and the timing!!! I appreciate we are in a crisis right now but paying for my box at the beginning of the month and not getting it until the end of the month is not good for me. I have just signed up to 2 alternative companies and both were delivered in less than a week!
It feels like I'm a number now with Birchbox rather than a loyal customer 😞

It feels wrong that i even need to give them one star. I started my subscription at the start of May. One box for my girlfriend one for my mum. It’s a month later and still no sign of the boxes or emails to say delayed, or dispatched or not coming... yet they have the cheek to take another payment today. Disgusting!

I wish I had read the reviews before signing up for a subscription!
I ordered my first box at the beginning of April. It still hasnt been despatched and the month is nearly over. Due to Covid-19 I completely understand there may be delays. However, after contacting customer service, and waiting days for a response, I was told today they are hoping to ship April's boxes on 8th May. Well, my concern is, they still want to take money from my account on 1st for my second box (May) without receiving April's. I just wonder when May's will be shipped? Anyway, due to this I have cancelled my subscription. Shame I didn't check the reviews first.
I will see if I ever receive April's box and decide from there whether to resubscribe at a later date. Maybe when Covid-19 is over!
On a plus my daughter has had no problems receiving her monthly subscription from a leading competitor. I'm not one to 'glossy' over the facts 😉

I have to say whenever I have dealt with customer service even through this uncertain time they have been nothing but helpful and kind. I had a damaged item in my last box and they sent out a replacement very quickly. I love my box every month. It’s my little treat. Thanks Birchbox!!

I usually love Birchbox - however their March box was a MASSIVE let down. Not only were some of the products virtually empty when the box arrived but a facemask within the box caused me to have an incredibly bad reaction.
I do not have sensitive skin and have never experienced reactions before this. Afterwards when I looked up the product it seems it is very common for this to happen even though it’s not supposed to !!
Not impressed whatsoever and seriously considering dealing with them further

Poor customer service. Delivered a box with a product missing, it was left to me to flag this. Turns out it was out of stock but no controls in place to stop that happening and the box is still available on the website. Convenient that the missing product was the most expensive and only offered 15% discount, I couldn't return the box as I had used one of the products. Cowboys and poor investment in customer experience.

Happy with products I received this time also getting an extra joining up gift so well worth what I paid. Will have another box next month and see how it goes and what products I receive. I’m not the best at knowing or trying new beauty products so this is an effective way of me

Love this box, love getting chance to try products before shelling out the money... I've once too many bought a product for it to be never used because I don't like the consistency or dries my skin out e.c.t. Only downfall is Glossybox do 5 full size products for the same price however, personally I believe the brand's available from Birchbox are much better.
