Excellent Service throughout from the staff at Halcyon, from the Bell boys especially Lori to the Bar staff especially Mickey and Agnes and of course the Team at the dive centre who look after us so well on all the snorkelling trips

We submitted a formal written complaint about service issues on 11 December, left the resort on the 22nd and as at 7 January we haven’t even had an acknowledgement. An electronic copy of our complaint is held and will now be sent by email direct to Sandals.

no where near as good as other sandals , and the rooms were of poor quality for the money again compared with other sandal resorts, and a recent change in policy meant no drink in the room when we arrived

Not as good as I expected especially with the price tag!!
Consistency of food not good got supposedly 5 star gourmet food. Kimonos Japanese show cooking just cheap take away food!!
House keeping not servicing rooms and having to chase towels.
Service at the bars pretty good I would just question hygiene with the use of guests own cool mugs!!
Beaches & resort great but not able to use water sports because of choppy seas

For a fully inclusive, top range hotel however, we were expecting a lot more. Drinks in room were limited to a wine and some beers, didn’t even top up the tea bags when asked (during a weeks stay) service around the pool areas could be a lot better. Prior arrangement for a bottle of bubbly, or something special for a 40th anniversary, didn’t appear. Wasn’t aware prior to booking that this is known as the party sandals, other guests at the hotel advised us.

The welcome was different to other Sandals hotels which was odd, no welcome drink, if you wanted anything you had to find it from the fridge yourself. The welcome team looked over stretched, we had to wait quite some time before we were checked in, we hadn't got a clue what was going on.
The room was beautiful,only then to find out we had to order the drinks we wanted on a card and then wait for the guy who tops up the wine to come round to the room, after a very long flight I don't expect to have to wait a number of hours for a glass of wine so our first night was very frustrating.
The good news is the next day the holiday did improve day by day. The other thing I would like to mention is...…. I left my reading glasses on the Virgin flight when we landed, a great guy by the name of Daniel did his upmost to get them back for me which he did, now that's what I call great service.
It was my first visit to Royal Sandals Barbados, didn't quite understand why you have two different styles of hotels when everyone can use all the facilities.

This is not a 5 star resort parts of the resort are looking tired. The check in process is long winded, and confusion over return transfer time.

Brilliant all round. Service,Rooms,Gardens,Beaches,Restuarants, Food.All staff. Really a family affair and nothing too much trouble. To do this for 365 days, morning, noon and night as we have been for over 10 years at various times during the year and it is always the same standard is amazing. Each site is different with its unique ways. And each site changes with the requirements the business needs plus constant Improvements which are ongoing.
