Training was good, my trainer knew his stuff. However once you get a pink bage and go as a trainee instructor with a franchise things change. The promised unlimited supply of pupils and work your own hours simply fade away. You could be left with a franchise cost and no pupils. My advice, look around and find a local company that can sponsor you. RED don't seem to take any thought into over selling franchises (where work is not there), and their pupil allocation (being a national company) does not take into account travel between customers. You seem to be on a taxi rank system where the next instructor takes a pupil, regardless of where they are (as long as your area covers them). You can end up travelling miles out for a customer, and another instructor travelling miles in (to take a pupil in the next street). Again, my advice find a local company.

TERRIBLE experience NO REFUND!!! They tell you what you want and need to hear, just to get your money!!!
THINK CAREFULLY!!!
I should have paid attention to the bad reviews I found on a google search.
The sales guy gave me the typical “don’t worry that doesn’t happen” and “in my experience that isn’t the case”. Of course, he is a sales guy and I was naive, because I wanted it to be a good thing. It is not!
First part of training evolves a lot of links to government websites (which you can easily find yourself for free). Their written information has a lot of errors; the same response for both a left and right turn when they should be opposite of the other, sentences unintentionally split onto separate lines/bullet points, typos, etc. Confusing and wastes a lot of time by having to think what is actually meant to be written. * Not compiled nor proof read properly *
The hazard perception videos they have are not accurate! I have photographic proof! They cause you to think too early or too late, depend on which ‘out of sync’ vid you go with for learning.
The multiple choice repeats questions often. Not putting it in another way of thinking, literally the same questions and answers repeated. This causes a false sense of security for passing. I passed my test first time, but I watched a lot of youtube and read up on google searches to achieve this, as I lacked confidence i REDs material.
My trainers were negative and I had to drive for 25 miles each way for my lessons. The sales guy said the place they will meet me was less than half of this distance.
My first trainer was grumpy, didn’t introduced himself, wanted me to read a car reg etc. then told me to get into the car before giving the third degree about not getting ‘huffy and puffy’. This was not called for, I had barely even spoke to this guy. He was obviously judging me upon a past experience of someone not being happy with his training. The rest of the lesson was stressful. I found out from a few people this is usually the way with this trainer.
My second trainer seemed ok for the first lesson. Moaned a little about the previous trainer etc. But in all, not too bad. After this was very different. She wasted a lot of time talking bad of the other trainer, telling me I should tell things to customer service to get him out. One time she went on for 30 minutes about him. She would say RED don’t give much time for lessons before test and said more lessons should be purchased by me at £30 per hour. So wasted time then wanted me to pay for more. She was impatient and sometimes verbally aggressive (one time she even slapped her own hand and said she was being like the other trainer). She would say if she didn’t like someone she would pass them onto the other trainer, and that Muslim men would be passed straight onto him. There’s more but too much to explain here.
RED did offer another trainer after I said I wanted a refund, however, these were the only trainers near where I live, and I had to travel 25 miles each way as it was. This was not a practical offer. After the terrible experience I had, they still refused a refund.
What I received was no where near what I was sold. They did not deliver, and did not refund.
The trainers they have are not what you would expect. They act like you owe them. If you look on YouTube at ADI lessons, it looks great, but what you get from RED is the complete opposite.
I gave them a chance to respond, I have heard nothing!
Trust me, AVOID!!!

In my experience they have guided me through part 1 and part 2 of my learning very well offering all the help needed, having only just started part 3 I cannot really comment on that as yet.
I would recommend them to anyone who is considering becoming a driving instructor.

All the way through I've been fully supported and informed by Red and my local instructor Ozan Halil. Despite lock down making it very difficult for the whole process, having to compress the last 6 module s into 4 weeks due to the lack of part 3 test dates I still passed although far below where I'd hoped back in March.
Oz was very direct, encouraging and truthful all the way through and Reds updates were very helpful as well.
I'd recommend Red Instructor Training.

August 2019 aged 57 years of age - it was time for a massive change. I sold my house, resigned from my Job and relocated.
I enrolled with RED in November the same year as a Trainee Driving Instructor. The offer package was exceptional, the career path was clear.
Having worked my whole life for an employer, I felt the time was right to take steps in to a career that meant I could eventually work for myself.
All through the process thus far RED have been there every step of the way. Despite the restrictions that the COVID pandemic has had on the training, the reassurance has always been there that the end goal should always be remembered.
The training guides that accompany the process are first class, any questions, no matter how trivial, are always answered by a dedicated training team.
The first part of the process (Pt1) is totally on-line, the Theory. Not only are you sent the hardback material to read but the training modules 'on-line' are clear, concise and the website is easy to traffic.
Once this exam has successfully been passed, (Pt2) is 'in car' training. A dedicated Trainer is assigned and this is when the relationship becomes important.
The training is intense!
With hard work comes reward.......... 5 x 2 hour driving sessions covering all aspects of your driving culminating in a test.
Having now reached the final Pt 3 of the course I look forward to continuing my training.

So far I have only experienced their support for the Theory Test but I'm moving into the Practical phase shortly. They know exactly what we need to do to pass these tests first time and that's what we all want, isn't it.

The course was started exactly on time. The instructor guided the delegates expertly through the webinar tools and course material. He was friendly and knowledgable and approachable. The content of the course was a little confusing at some points but I think the deligates had enough knowledge to manage. I personally managed to acquire everything I needed to go forward into the next phase of my training

Excellent service from the very first phone enquiry to taking my part 2 test. Informative, full explanations, no pushing you into decisions. When accepted too do the course, the support team always there with help and advice, usually within the hour of emailing. The instructor was fantastic, again encouraging and friendly. I passed first time and I thank my instructor for giving me the confidence on the day.

Regret to say I wasn't totally impressed with my first trainer.
I disagreed with some of the trainers instructions and felt he didn't like me bringing my experience as a former advanced police driver and motorcyclists into the lessons.
