I purchased a ring through the Zoara site and was disappointed initially as there was a delay in the ring being shipped. I wasn't made aware of the delay and had to contact them to find out what the issue was. Once that was sorted, the ring was despatched a few days later. I was nervous purchasing the ring from Australia as it is a long way to send it back if things go wrong, however looking at this site - everyone seemed happy. Imagine my surprise when I received a phone call from the Courier company in USA advising that I had to pay a further $290 in customs fees (on a $1200 ring). I contacted Zoara who have advised they use a catch all phrase that the 'customer is responsible for any duties, taxes & GST' - however there is no indication on purchase that we are going to be responsible for these extra charges when purchasing from Australia. Buyers outside of USA - be conscious of extra charges.
Two days later I am now updating this review. Zoara are bending over backwards to assist and ensure my experience is a positive one. Still to receive the ring, but there customer service is tremendous.

A good ring at a good price, but it took six months to get and they never did actually nail the design...
This is a revision of my earlier review.
My fiancé and I searched online for a simple sturdy ring that would stand up to the abuse of retail shelving, unpacking, etc. We found a ring on Zoara's website that was close, but needed some modification to be what she wanted. I contacted the company to see if they could revise one of their own rings to our specifications. Sure! they said. This was before Christmas of 2015. After many delays, we finally received our ring in June. I asked for a CAD rendering to take the risk out of it. Sure! they said. Then they said it could be months - that their rendering company was "backed up". Really? The only adornment on this ring is already in one of their existing renderings. Most of what they needed to do was just change the band. They never did get that right. We wanted a heavy comfort, oval cross-section band - no flat surface anywhere on the band. I sent well-annotated illustrations of my own. They eventually delivered the ring with a band that has a flat top and flat inside, but at least had a round edge instead of the "pipe cut" they kept trying to foist upon us. If we wanted the pipe cut, we would have just ordered their stock ring - Jeesh. My fiancé finally said "that's close enough, I like it" - so I accepted it - but it wasn't an oval cross-section. At every step of the process, they refused to give me the oval section I wanted. Part of this, I'm sure, is due to the inability to sit across the desk from the designer/CAD drawer - but this was NOT a difficult concept to understand. I dealt with several different customer service reps - about the time I'd get exasperated by one, they'd assign a different one to me. They did promptly answer emails - I'll give them that, but our wedding date could not be set for half a year because we had no idea when we'd get the ring. We, too, heard the "takes two weeks to make, after we agree on design" promise/comment. They just don't mention how they drag their feet for months during the design collaboration. Once I gave up on getting exactly what we consistently asked for from the beginning - and approved the design as repeated offered - then, indeed, we had the ring two weeks later. We already owned the brown/chocolate diamond she wanted set in the ring and the ring was fabricated correctly to set our specified stone into. We had a local jeweler set the stone. I've attached a photo so you can see the simplicity of the ring. Sorry - the stone doesn't show itself off very well in this pic.

I've received my ring finally on 3/23/2016. The ring and box was exactly as I have viewed on the site. I would say I am very please with the ring and the presentation of the box. I upped the rating to 3 stars due to the better then expected quality of the diamond and ring itself.
I would recommend Zoara for a great deal on the diamond and some additional discounts in the form of taxes and wire transfers. Please note that my issue with the wire transfer is it took up to 7 business days to confirm my payment, which pushed out my expected ship date well past the 2-5 days that is stated on Zoaras website. I think Zoara should do a better job at walking people through the wire transfers to avoid the delay in shipping. With the Delay in shipment aside, I am very please with the ring.
I've ordered my ring and diamond on 3/05/2016, which was a Saturday. I decided to do the wire transfer since there was a discount associated with this payment method, and I wish I had not. My bank completed the wire on 3/07/2016, which was end of day Monday.
On Thursday and Friday, I called in and email support to confirm payment since the site shows it as "in process". I got 2 email back saying that they have not received it (even though I have confirmation from my bank) and asked for my transfer receipt. So I sent them the confirmation with a screen shot from my bank.
3 days later, still no updates. Email responses were ignored. I had to call in and ask about the payment on the 3rd day. Customer support said payment was confirmed and the diamond was ordered (website still shows as in process at this point). So I asked for a email validation, something in writing that says they have received it. This took several more emails and a negative feedback on their site to get a response and a written confirmation of payment received.
They then sent me an explanation of why my payment was confirmed until the 15th, said because it came in as an ACHI wire and it had no sender information. However on their wire instruction they did not specific how to do the wire or what type to wire they prefer. Clearly my bank got a confirmation status from their bank.
It is 3/22/2016 as of this review and the Engagement ring have not been shipped. I will not speak to the quality of the ring and this review is strictly on my shopping experience.

Ordered on the 27th Nov, Took 2 WEEKS to tell me that the diamond is UNAVAILABLE
received an email saying “While I understand that this is unexpected and disappointing, I’m would like to inform you that it is our policy in such cases to provide a diamond at least as good as the one that you originally ordered at no additional cost for you as long as this is possible.” ONLY AFTER 2 WEEKS.
Because I don't have enough time, I had to asked their Customer Service team to pick a diamond for me got WORSE DIAMOND and had to PAY EXTRA for it despite the email said "no cost", I had to pay due to the need of getting a diamond ASAP.. and it's 1 week before I left the Country,
DIAMOND IS NOT HERE YET ( almost 3 WEEKS) , check my article for more https://flunkstory.wordpress.com/2015/12/15/zoara-flunk-story/
THANKS FOR RUINING AND RUSHING MY DECEMBER + CHRISTMAS + NEW YEAR AND HOLIDAYS !
at the end, the customer care manager managed to get in touch with me and refunded the "Extra" i had to pay when I changed my diamond.. well, they did a good job on that.. the diamond itself was good, So if you are not in a rush, you can try give it a go, expect 10 days - 2 weeks from end to end,

I am happy with the ring my fiancé gave me, mostly because HE gave it to me. It is special to me and I would not trade it. However, it does NOT look like the photo online. The edges aren't nearly as sharp or clean, the soldering is uneven and sloppy, and the double band that is joined to look like one ring is a double band in the back, whereas online it looks like a single band. Very shady misrepresentation. Will not buy another ring from these people.

We decided on this site when my original engagement ring could not be sized properly. One of the reason we went with them because all of the great reviews and their 2-3 days shipping. We ordered on a Friday so I expected to see it the following Wednesday or thursday at the latest. Being engaged newly with no ring to show is not so much a fun thing....here is my 10 minute story to everyone instead of just flashing the bling. Anyways, waiting...then some explanation about how their vendor required payment first (not out problem) and kinda wierd it was even mentioned. Then the diamond we selected was no longer available (shady and disappointing but believe the vendor did not update their stock) AGAIN not our problem. So a similar diamond was offered and then received almost 2 weeks after the 2-3 days that was advertised. If I had know this then we would have waited the 3 weeks at a retail store for correct sizing. The ring is gorgeous and very happy with what my fiance picked. I love it but the new diamond has a different type of inclusion that the other did not even though it was sold to fiance as better quality. No discount, good customer service but not really apologetic or worried about our experience. Just remember they can be returned and do answer emails for the most part so that is a plus.

Zoara.com has excellent customer service. Most of the time. Most of their reps are extremely helpful, motivated and really want you to be as happy as possible.
Zoara.com has a beautiful range of jewelry, and amazing finds for anyone, even on a tight budget.
The finished product is well crafted to industry standard. Don't expect anything above and beyond.
My order in particular was a slightly modified version of one of their existing rings. In order to make any changes, expect a $150 fee. Regardless of the change.
The ring I chose was for Round diamonds. I have a princess, and wanted it customized to fit said stone, so that i could have it set here by a local jeweler. I was charged the ring cost +$150.
Later on down the road, I made a change to my order, asking for the prongs in yellow gold, while the rest remained in white gold. This was changed for no added cost, as I'd already paid for customization.
I got my ring in a very short period of time. Which surprised me... immensely - since I'd asked for photographs of the ring in order to approve it before shipping. Zoara actually suggested this to me. I never received any photo.
The ring itself is very nice. Slightly larger than expected, so I'm not sure yet how it will look on her finger, though i know she'll be happy with it. I showed her a number of Zoara and other Merchant's designs, and this was one of her favorites. Its well, and solidly made.
The problem I have, is rather than make the prongs and trellis in yellow gold, and the rest in white gold, then solder them together, Zoara's jeweler instead opted to make the entire design in yellow gold, then plate the rest in white gold. (This is a practice not uncommon in the industry for two-toned rings so I wasn't exactly overly surprised.) However this practice results in a ring needing to be replated over time. From my understanding, at around the two year mark. I deducted a full star for this, as this is a massive inconvenience.
However, Zoara earned back half a star by having a Lifetime Guarantee on the craftsmanship, that will apparently cover the re-plating should that be required. Shipping it to be re-plated, cleaned, and have prongs tightened every two years doesn't seem entirely unreasonable to me.
In plating the ring, I also noted Zoara's jeweler missed a spot along the edge of one of the prongs.. It's too small to kick up a fuss about, and certainly to send it back over, but I know it's there, it's a flaw, and it wouldn't be there if they hadn't taken the easy way out for two-tone jewelry. It's unacceptable for what i paid for the ring, and speaks volumes about their quality control and laziness. For this, Zoara loses a half star.
Finally, as i mentioned above, Zoara initially charged me $150 to make a change that would allow the ring to hold a princess cut diamond. That's all well and good - that's their customization fee. But when i got the ring, i learned not only were no changes were made to the prongs, nor was one necessary.
Zoara planned to charge me $150 extra for nothing. Good thing I made the change, making it two-tone. Zoara loses a full star for this. Such practices are in poor taste, and taking advantage of consumers.
So in essence, i paid $150 for a poor quality, sloppy and easy way out two-toning method that's going to force me to spend money on shipping on a roughly bi-annual basis to keep the ring looking nice.
Would I buy from Zoara again? Maybe. Depends on what it is, and cost elsewhere. But I recommend avoiding the customization service. And if you do customize, ensure that you get photos before it ships. If you don't get any pictures first, REFUSE THE PACKAGE.
Furthermore, Zoara is reluctant to refund any of the $150.00 for customization. I'll post any updates.
Additionally, like most Jewelers, online or brick & Mortar, Zoara uses cheap, poor quality cardboard ring boxes that you wouldn't present a dog with, let alone the woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. Find a box you like, and order it before or at the same time as your ring, so that you're not left with a ring - box-less waiting to propose.
