Just as one other reviewer wrote - these extension are awful after the first wash. I’ve had cheap hair extensions that cost me wayy less that were way better! SO OVERRATED!! These are the worst hair extensions I’ve ever used and it’s a shame they generate business and will continue to do so cause people who think their reviews are great and get sucked in. Businesses like this eventually go bust. Horrible product

Their hair quality drastically changed. I’m a hair stylist and multiple clients have come back saying there is no way to keep them untangled for 30 min. It’s embarrassing and I feel like it’s not real hair

i think the hair is fake! After washing it one time with the shampoo & conditioner they provided the hair is nappy & tangled. You can't move your head without it looking like birds nest

The quality of Zala sew-in wefts is absolute garbage and the company itself is super sketchy and shady. If you leave any sort of negative comment about the quality of their hair on a Zala Instagram post, they delete your comment and/or delete the whole post. But let me start at the beginning. Apologies in advance for how long this is, but this contains a lot of information about the company.
Back at the start of this year, I was researching extensions and came across Zala’s website. The colors were a perfect match for my hair and I loved that they had the payment plan option, so I ordered the wholesale bundles (5 bundles for $409). When they arrived, I was so pleased with how thick and high quality they appeared to be. My hairstylist installed them and for the first three weeks they looked gorgeous...then they started to shed like crazy. I don’t mean that a few strands here and there would fall out — I mean when I brushed my hair, the hair in my brush would be what you would expect to come out in the course of a whole month or so. I didn’t even have the extensions in for a full two months before they started to look old, ragged, and sparse.
I immediately reached out to Zala’s customer service to express my alarm and disappointment with the quality. I explained that I knew some shedding would be expected, but as someone who has worn extensions for over a decade this was definitely more than what would be considered “normal” shedding. Since my mother is a hairdresser, I’ve only ever used professional salon products on my hair and I deep condition with Olaplex no.3 once or twice a week, and I’ve never had an experience like this with any other extensions in the past. This was Zala’s response, which I’ve since seen is a typical canned response:
“As for the concern regarding our weave extensions, we are surprised to hear that as these issues you are experiencing are extremely rare and our sets go through strict quality control before being sent to customers.
In order for us to assist further, we kindly ask you to send some photos of the issue so we can inspect this for you. Kindly provide more information on exactly how you are caring for the weave whilst they are in your hair such as products used, heat styling temp, have they been toned/dyed, along with how often you wash them.”
You’re surprised to hear these issues and they’re rare? That’s odd, because this is a common complaint that I’ve seen in other reviews now. I responded back with photos of what they looked like when I got them installed versus what they looked like ~2 months later, along with a very detailed description of how I care for my hair and the professional products I use. I stressed again that I know how to care for extensions since I’ve worn them for so long, that the extensions were never dyed nor styled with heat higher than 300°, and yes, I’d sealed the wefts with Dritz Sealant. Zala then told me that “in order to forward my inquiry onto management,” I needed to provide a photo of the product barcode as well as answer a laundry list of questions:
1. How long had you waited to wash your hair, after having the weave in extensions applied?
2. How do you care for your weave in extensions whilst you sleep?
3. How often do you swim in your weave in extensions?
4. What sealant was used on the weave to ensure no fraying where you cut the weft?
5. Is this your first experience with our weave in range?
6. What other brands of weave in hair extensions have you used?
7. The business/salon name along with the name of the hairdresser who applied your weave in extensions.
8. The ABN/cosmetologist license of the person/salon that applied your extensions.
9. The contact details of the business who applied your extensions - Number/Email.
I was told to answer these questions with short and concise responses rather than the detailed paragraphs I was sending before. I personally found these questions to be ridiculous considering I had provided photos and video for proof of the poor quality of hair and already spent time explaining to them how I cared for everything, but I answered them anyway. Then...nothing. I never heard back from Zala. If I commented on one of their Instagram posts, it was deleted. Crickets from them.
Flash forward to July. The earlier extensions had long since been taken out and discarded. My previous stylist moved to Florida during the pandemic, so I found a new one and had him install more Zala hair towards the end of July since I still had so much hair left from the bundles purchased. I DRENCHED the wefts with Dritz sealant to try to avoid the same issue as before, and it seemed like it worked for a bit...but now, here we are on September 6, not even two months after the install, and the hair has once again been shedding like crazy. The volume of each sewn in weft is half of what it used to be. I see from a response to a review on here that the company, “allows for 3-5% shedding with our sets, due to any hairs that have not been completely secured during manufacturing.” This is WAY more than 3-5% — this is more like 40%+. I’m so angry because this company refuses to take responsibility for the poor quality of their product and own up to the issues. Everything is the fault of the buyer and they attempt to blame you for not taking care of the hair properly since their hair “goes through strict quality control.” I find that hard to believe since I had the same issue with FIVE bundles of hair. One bundle, fine, I’ll buy that maybe there was a mistake there, but for all five bundles? No.
The quality of this hair is not what the company pretends it is, and considering you can only find overwhelmingly positive reviews on their social media and website...it’s because the company is shady and silences all unhappy customers by deleting their comments or not approving their reviews. Zala posted a photo on Instagram on September 3 about the volume of their hair extensions and I left a comment about how that volume will only last for three weeks before the extensions start falling apart and shedding like crazy. Within hours my comment was deleted and only positive comments remain. I commented again and said, “I love how Zala deletes any negative comments on their products lol. Once again, it’s crazy how much volume your sew-in wefts have for three weeks before they fall apart and start to shed like crazy and you’re left with half the hair you paid with.” I’m sure by tomorrow my comment will again be deleted. Heck, I might even get blocked, but at least they can’t delete this review on here. I will never give another dime to Zala, and I beg everybody looking into buying their extensions to reconsider because you’ll just be throwing your hard-earned money away.

Terrible quality not worth $1

I don’t know why I bought these again. Absolutely kicking myself!!
I had a terrible experience last time and it’s the same again.
I purchased the 9 piece platinum blonde set and they are different colours in different lighting!
I’m still working on getting my own hair down to the lighter colour that I will have for my wedding but I had my hair trial yesterday and I cannot believe that this is happening again!
In warm lighting, the extensions are PURPLE!
In cool lighting, they are BLUE!
In regular daylight they are ok, a bit more yellow then I would like though.
I don’t buy extensions to only be able to wear them in the daylight!
I have used the warmer as directed and it’s still not getting rid of these other colours.
I can’t believe I caved and paid a fortune for such a crap quality product... AGAIN!
Don’t buy the platinum colour if you don’t want this to happen! Second time buyer! Trust me. They are rubbish.
Oh and they also had multiple strands of brown cotton through them!!

Do not order from here!!! I ordered a ponytail extension and the color was off. Emailed the company since they do not have any phone customer service. They tell me to return and make sure the seal/tag is not broken. So I return and order another color which they suggested to easier tone to my blonde color. I am a hair stylist and 3 of us, including one who deals with extensions, wasted too much time and color trying to tone to my very light blonde. This cannot be all real hair says the expert on extensions! Wasted almost 90$ On this and so upset it cannot be toned at ALL! To top it off I receive an email from zala saying they will not refund my first ponytail extension because the seal/tag was broken!!!! I am humiliated and have never ever dealt with such an unprofessional company in my 59 years and I do a lot of online shopping/returning. I DID NOT cut the seal only took the silly ribbon off to be out of the way so I could compare it to my own hair. I am not through with this awful company who makes you feel like a victim!! SMH 🤦♀️

Their customer service is atrocious and embarrassing
Just as the many customers have already stated they are HORRIBLE. I have ordered from them 3 times. 2 of the 3 times have been negative and extremely frustrated. They are rude and sadly do not understand the importance of customer service. Example: I paid for expedited shipping which indicates delivery in 2-3 days. It’s now been a week with no delivery of the products I ordered. I was told in writing work with the post office. ARE YOU SERIOUS. This is certainly not a response Glam seamless or Amazon or any other reputable company who care about their customers would provide.
Fine I respond then please just reimburse me for the expedited shipping. I was told to reach out when I receive my order. Again I say IS THIS ACTUALLY THEIR RESPONSE. Hello That's the problem. I’m not receiving my order. In today’s current situation one would assume that companies would rather maintain customers, especially after ordering 3 times, then pushing them to other companies.
PS. their extensions get soooo knotty even with extremely infrequent use.
In summary, I will never use them again and I strongly urge you to consider another company even if a bit more expensive rather then risk the frustration of dealing with them. I’m absolutely disgusted.
Follow up. They wrote on their site a manager had contacted me and the problem is being resolved. No manager has contacted me.

Have you noticed how we are not able to write reviews on their website? Because they will fool everyone with their own reviews. Bad quality hair and the worse customer service ever. If you return the product they will charge fees. Be aware!

I am extremely unsatisfied with the quality and customer service of zala hair .
I washed the hair once with extension shampoo and conditioner. And felt like the ends had been burnt. When I use my hair straightener on 100 it could smell burning . I’ve been hairdressing 15 and never come across extensions that do this besides synthetic hair ?
So I approached zala to let them know of the poor hair quality , as it could just be the batch of hair . I’ve had extension from zala before with no drama until this batch .
During my complaint process I was asked a series of questions . One asking me for batch date . I had a look at the batch tag and
has manufactured 2017 !
I was advised by zala that they do not stock or make champagne extension in wefts on the 6th April 2020 ( proof by screenshot )
When they advertise wefts in champagne a few months ago make a purchase for champagne blonde .
So the hair they sent me was manufactured in 2017 when champagne blonde was not even made !
Long story short they sent me any blonde tone from 2017 batch which was poor quality and felt synthetic and looked burnt
The outcome that zala hair gave me was a 50% off for another Purchase
Should they give me my money back for faulty product ?
For new batch or correct tone ?
They also tried to lie and say it was the one even if they didn’t manufacture that tone in 2017 on this year 2020?
Please be advised that if you want to speak to someone from zala they do no not a phone number

Shipping was very fast. I ordered on a late Friday night and received them the following Wednesday. I have very thick hair cut into a layered bob. It still wasn’t quite enough hair to wear straight, but looks alright curled. I ordered the 20in 9 piece quad weft set in rich mocha brown.
The extensions weren’t near as silky after washing, but I’m biracial, so the texture actually matched my hair better. That change would most likely be an issue for some people who have silky hair. The big thing I didn’t like about my experience was noticing negative comments deleted on Facebook and multiple obvious fake accounts leaving positive comments on Instagram. I’m okay with my purchase overall, but make sure you read a lot of other reviews before you decide for yourself to order. I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t order again because they come across as a shady business when it comes to customer service issues that aren’t positive.

Horrible horrible company, purchased a bundle and some shampoo plus conditioner after several weeks I inquired about my order then was told my item is out of stock so I picked a different color and was charged an addition $20. Several more weeks I check my account and my order history shows a random order with a $30 charge that states complete, package left at front door. I have spend days arguing with their so called customer service for which they claim that once an order is marked delivered it is no longer their problem and absolutely will not replace or refund an item that is marked delivered. So basically if there is anything missing from your order or even an empty box the consumer is SOL. Now I have to deal with the hassle of filing a claim with my bank and the BBB. This is by far the worst company I've ever felt with they also make a point to tell me in every email that they are not bound by US laws, yet they have a facility here???? I agree with another customer's review, this company makes fake accounts to post fake reviews several reviews left by so called customers this is their only review or they left a few reviews for this company but no other conpany.
