I looked for many different processors when starting my ammunition business. No one would help with ecommerce. Blue Dog had not trouble doing it and had a great rate to compare with the others.

The team at Bluedog seem to care about how my business is doing and how they can help me grow. They offer many products to assist with my business growth but also take in the specific issues I have so they can offer the right stuff that will work for my specific set up and clientele. They are not pushy about it but take the time to listen to my specific needs. The program (app) was just what I needed to track expenses and inventory while also providing another avenue for payment through invoicing.

They seemed great at first. Not long after I signed up with Bluedog I received about $45 in charges above and beyond what I had agreed to pay for their services. This was because of their shady way of communicating their business practices. They will set you up with Authorize.net, who will charge you regular monthly fees, but that's not all. What they don't tell you is that they will also set you up with "First View" and proceed to charge you out the nose for their "services". I closed my account mid-month and was told that I would have to pay a $495 early cancellation fee! When I finally got a refund I thought it was over. It wasn't; just got charged another full month fees & they won't respond. Beware!!!
(Follow up) As you can see by their response below they claim that my issues are "easily resolved" (Well, yes. Just give me back my money you stole and actually close my account) and "unrelated to us" (You stealing my money after I already closed my account is not unrelated to you at all. First View is where the $45 charge came from).
Their big thing is they want to get you on the phone to convince you of your need for their services not necessarily to fix their mistakes and problems. It's funny how quickly they responded to this review posting and yet, my claim of them stealing my money goes unresolved since Friday 8-2 (today is 8-6).
** Update - This review is not false as Blue Dog claims. I simply am presenting the facts about my service experience with them. The refund for the $45 finally came into my bank on 8-12 (even though they claim it was approved on 8-6). They have been begging me repeatedly to remove my reviews about their company which I will not because honest reviews shed light on poor business practices such as theirs. They only gave me a refund after I published my reviews & threatened litigation.

I owe several businesses and we use BlueDog for each business. We have been very pleased with their services and find them to be excellent to work with if we have had an issue.Highly recommend, we do millions of dollars in volume with them every year.

They made right what went wrong--
Our church needed a Point Of Sale option, and after walking us through the process a few years ago, Blue Dog was great at getting us up and running. The problem we encountered was the volume of our sales were so much smaller than is designed for their program. We were using this for a very small Café (about $1500 annual income via Credit) and the monthly fees, and variable fees from credit card companies, ended up being more than it was worth for us to have. I wasn't apart of the beginning sales conversations, so I'm unsure if that was ever communicated up front.
When we called recently, we found out that we were in a contract that auto renews, and it would cost us $500 to cancel. Again, for an operation our size...that's about a third of our annual income!
Fortunately, after calling the office, Peter (a supervisor) intervened and within about 5 minutes made a way for us to get out of the contract and avoid those cancellation fees. We deeply appreciated that.
If you average less than a few thousand in sales each year, this will be a bad option. There are simply other ways to take credit that are more beneficial at a low volume.
That being said, the software is intuitive, and when we needed the support, the office team came through for us with a very human touch. All in all, probably a great option for someone else!

This company has some of the best processing rates in the industry. Setting up processing was almost too easy. As with every binding contract I would recommend having an attorney review all documents and explain them to you before signing. I would also make sure you have get every document that you sign as a hard copy with all terms and fees documented.

They started off by committing coercion by insisting that I deliver my product to the customer first before they would release the funds to me!Can you imagine ordering something online and paying for it after you receive it? They made me wait months to get paid because they thought that is the way I should run my business. They left such a bad taste in my mouth that i decided to stop taking credit cards online. Then they stole $495 from me for early termination fee!!! Stay very far away from this thieving company.

REVISED REVIEW: from the beginning, Blue Dog did in fact make things very easy to get set up and begin processing credit card payments. Their level of communication is probably the best I've ever seen. While we weren't able to get the transaction amount needed, they were very helpful, respectful and honorable people to work with. I feel much better about giving them 5 stars.

I would give them 0 if possible. Their dishonest salesman and deceiving contract cost us, a new business, hundreds of dollars we couldn't afford to lose. If it weren't for Square coming around at the right time they would have put us out of business

Excellent customer service, easy integration, fast settlements, and great rates compared to other card processing services that put you in a "high risk" processing rate.
