Xometry management decided to replace the hollow FDM/ABS part with SLA/NYLON. I received the replacement today 8/28/19. The part arrived 2 days earlier than promised and the build quality is excellent. We'll continue to do business with Xometry for our prototype needs.
I recommend Xometry, but make sure to double-check the order confirmation against the quote. Also, if you decide to use FDM technology, I suggest noting the density of the support structure. Otherwise, the build may not be functional.

I went through the online quote and specified their nylon 14 material. I didn't catch that they changed the material and process to ABS and FDM after the order had been placed. I feel like it's a bait and switch. As for the part I received - the skin was too thin and the spacing between the inner supports too wide. The wall was supposed to be 3/16 and I could literally deflect the inner and outer walls ~.03" just using my thumb and finger. It would audibly pop and crack when you pressed on it. I just assumed Xometry would provide the same material as the quote specified.
I intended to use the part on a fully functional prototype. This couldn’t happen because of the quality of the part. We had to use the part as a visual example only. This was embarrassing to me and has impacted my development schedule.
This is the response from Xometry.
Sorry but I have not been able to persuade mgmt into making a complete zero dollar reprint for your part in SLS. Their reasoning is that the order confirmation email clearly stated the process and material that was selected and was sent to you after the order was placed. We could have stopped the order if alerted in time and re-quoted at the correct process.
They switched material and process and expected me to catch that "after the order was placed".
We went with Xometry because of price but you get what you pay for. Be careful dealing with this company. Make sure to double-check order confirmations if you decide to use them. Oh yea, and they don't stand behind the service.

Parts could not be built as originally quoted. First, I agreed to compromises on geometry and then it ended up that I could not get the CNC aluminum parts at all. Put me in a serious bind time wise and I had to settle for FDM parts instead. Timing was tight enough that we had to pack and check baggage instead of shipping ahead of time. Also ended up skewing the focus group perception when compared to other metal component options and screwing up the whole review. Second star is for them providing the parts, even if in different material so I didn't go on empty handed.

Really appreciate the support provided by the Xometry team throughout the process, from my initial designs to post processing! Highly recommend.

Great results with both CNC machining and 3D printing! Instant quoting feature is very cool.

After writing an initial, not-so glimmering review of Xometry in early 2018, I've come back to reverse my previous statements.
Over the last year or so Xometry has reorganized much of their internal infrastructure, with notable improvements & focus on supporting the aerospace industry. In the past few months, Xometry has been able to consistently delivery high-quality, timely (usually ahead of schedule), and aerospace compliant parts to my team and I. Their willingness to dive head-first into every project -- no matter the complexity -- and attention to detail has moved them to the top of my 'all star supplier's list. Shout out to Bobby Y and Mark G for the excellent and professional work.

When I need hi-res SLA the quality here is excellent. I choose highest res. Packing and delivry is top notch. The normal SLS are better than average too. There are cheaper places but you get what you pay for.

The sales representatives were amazing walking me through several different orders.
We've used Xometry for prototyping of new products a few times now. The product we receive is always well executed and we would recommend them to anyone looking for 3d printing and prototyping.

I had very complex design that required 5 axis cnc. Tried for 8 months w/ no luck getting it produced. Xometry came through! Having bigger buying power through their network was the difference- IMO
Thanks Randy, Mark, & Jesse,

I placed a $4375.00 order for 10 CNC parts on 9/7/2018. The expected lead time was supposed to be 2 weeks. Today's date is 10/24/2018. It has been 6 weeks and I still haven't received all of the parts. Xometry says that it will be another week until the 2 remaining parts ship.
Even though the CNC price was 2X the cost of metal 3D printing, all of the parts that initially shipped were 3D printed and poorly and partially cleaned up on a CNC. Two of the parts from the second batch of remade parts were so atrocious and out of tolerance that they were completely unusable. All of the parts from the order belong to an assembly so having some of the parts is pointless. To compensate for the late order, Xometry offered a 10% discount on our next order. If the next order is for a $50 dollar part, the compensation for a month late $4,375 dollar order would be $5.00. Seems pretty inadequate.

We have now fabricated two different prototype antennas with Xometry.
We are very much impressed with Xometry's capabilities. Aimen Siddigui at Xometry has helped us extensively with our work.
Our 3-d printed antennas have rigorous electrical and mechanical requirements. At the same time, because the antennas will be visible to our customers, the antennas must also have an acceptable appearance. The wide range of materials and finishing have allowed us to meet all of our requirements.

We had two high detail tiny prints sent over to them, they were able to fix our meshes and actually produce all the quality even though most of our dimensional items were well below their recommended threshold! Whoever excavates over there did a great job taking care of our parts.

On last proto order there was a feature missing on "post" part. I reported this problem, which report should be in your records. Response was OK, no friction, clear explanation and fix. BUT It became clear to me that part generation had a human error while I have been expecting a untouched translation from .SLDPRT to finished product. I don't know if this is standard in the industry but it is a stopper in this relationship if it's not standard industry procedure.
