Never use wow rental in Catania please. They will trick you into an insurance. I didn’t have the pin code for a deposit but if I took an insurance they still do a deposit but don’t need your pin, strange... it’s a trick. not possible to leave a cash or other pin card deposit. Booked trough Argus car hire, who’s service is bad.

The arrival and departure transfer was the only positive. The car they gave us was a bit dirty and was not the agreed one. Upon returning, they told us that they had to charge us a "cleaning" fee since the car was "dirty", according to the employee on duty. He only looked at the car outside and saw the land he had for having used it for 5 days. Something totally logical. I had never been charged in any rent car any extra cleaning charge for having used the car and returned it without washing. It is a scam, since I returned the car in perfect condition and without any stains or extreme dirt. However, I could not avoid being charged € 60 for cleaning. It is a way to steal customers, since it makes no sense to receive such a deplorable and unfair treatment, when they are not right. I have photos of the return and there is not one that shows that it deserves a deep cleaning. It is a way that the Wow Rent a Car company has to bill more in an illegal and unprofessional way. They honestly have no idea of providing good service or customer service. This company started recently, and if it does not change its behavior, it will have no future. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT ME. DO NOT USE IT. PATHETIC SERVICE.

Don't rent at Wowrent! How I wished I've read some reviews before I rented a car with this company. They gave us a car that had an issue with the oil. We immediately called Wowrent and they advised us to call the roadside assistance. Once they arrived they pulled away our car and we were without a car for three days and didn't get a replacement car even though we payed for these days. After many calls they told us we could get a replacement car and they would refund the taxi costs to come and pick up the car. We never got back our money (€80,-) and when we were back home they charged €500,- from our creditcard without any notice!!! The customer service don't respond to any calls or e-mails.

I had specifically searched for a car rental company actually at Caglia Airport, but it turns out that Wow Rent was not at the terminal, meaning a transfer with luggage that I thought I had chosen to avoid. Clearly the location of Wow Rent was misclassified, a con to get business
The arrival instructions were totally inadequate, so I had to telephone the rental company, at international mobile rates
It turned out that our car had been released as we were 1 hour 5 minutes late (surely not unusual for airport hires? How were we supposed to let the Wow Rent know if we were up in the air for to a late flight?), even though we had paid for the rental in full weeks before!
The shuttle to the Wow Rent premises was not marked (just a plain black minibus), but we weren't told this, so we waited an hour for a 'Wow' branded shuttle, before telephoning Wow yet again and finally being given the full information
The woman at the Wow Rent desk was on her own and doing her best, but all she could offer us was a battered Ford Fiesta, not the VW Golf we had paid for
This all got our holiday off to a bad start, but could have been avoided with better customer service - accurate on-line location, proper pick-up instructions, and a longer length of time allowed to pick up an airport rental car
The return experience was, however, fine!

Horrible service! They spend 2 seconds showing us the car said everything is fine but after we started the car, the tire was flat and we had to come back. After 2 days the tire was flat again and we had to stop at a gas station and fill it again. We came back to leave the car and they said we made a scratch in the plastic cover of the tire, which is not true. We had to pay 100€ for that plastic cover (50€ for the cover and 50€ for admistrative cost) The blond women at the counter even got super rude. We come to sardegna every year, last time with Wowrent.

After reading reviews we got a little bit worried. But on arrival we phoned the company for pickup. We got greeted nicely and instructed clearly where to go for pickup. Whithin 15-20 minutes from the moment we called we were at their office.
At the office there was some waiting time, but that was not strange seeing we arrived a bit before 23h and did not exceed +-15min. We were very happy that they stay open until 23h and even later(for a fee) in case there is a delay, seeing 23h is too late for most rentals. After finishing the paperwork and inspecting the vehicle with the friendly staff we were on our way.
We took out a small insurance policy in case of any damages, but fortunately we did not need it. The vehicle was clean and new and everything worked as expected.
When returning the car we inspected the vehicle with the staff and as expected there was nothing to report. We got dropped of at the airport and were on our way home.
For the price of the rental, we got what we expected.
Our advise, to save yourself from unpleasant surprises, communicate clearly, in Italian if possible, but english is also understood, and inspect the vehicle thouroughly. Asside for exceptions, things should go smoothly.
All in all, a great value for money! We had a pleasant experience with WOWrent and would definitely consider them again when renting a car in the future.

This is simple extortion and a scam. Do not use WoWRent. Everything was fine at pick up but we were confronted with aggression and threatened by staff when returning the car. On taking pictures of our car to use as evidence of the dispute they told me that the price had now increased and that they 'had my details'. Less than an hour later money had been debited from my credit card. DO NOT USE.

Good car but we had to wait a long time to get the car.
BUT THE WORST WAS ON RETURN:
When returning it we mentionned a scratch from being parked. It was a small one which we didn’t deny. They blocked 500 euro on our creditcard and said they would charge us 410 euro for it!!!!! As my husband worked with cars and we know something about carrosseria. In the end we negotianten down to 230. Still a lot but we had a plane to catch....
Advice EVEN WHEN CHEAP CARRENTAL: DO NOT USE!

booked a small car 5 months ago at Palermo airport! I was told that they have no insurance for small cars and there is no other option for me even though I offered to wait for a small vehicle to become free. I was showed that there are no small cars coming back in the next 2 weeks...and we have to wash and vacuum the car upon return. I am disabled and explained that the large car is going to be difficult to drive but was told too bad for me!!!

Got a Peugeot 2008 from this outfit in August from Sicily Catania airport, about an hour and a half into my drive I discover that the AC is blowing out HOT air, making the car like an oven, i called them when I got to my destination 2 hours away, they said the roadside assistance should be able to help. I called the roadside assistance and was told they can't help, and I will need to send it into the nearest town on Monday (it was Saturday afternoon when I got the car) as they would be closed Sunday and it was not roadside assistance issue. On Monday i got the run around again and was then told I had to bring the car back to the airport a 4-hour round trip, in order to get a fully functioning car.
at the end of my trip, I was told I would need to speak to their customer service to get a refund of the days I had a defective vehicle. Customer services did not respond to a SINGLE call or email I sent to them, despite my numerous attempts. I ended out having to go through vehicle rents customer services, who were then told the following BLATANT lies by wowrent:
'' Dear partner,
We agreed with the customer that we will send him a voucher and we'll send them out all at the same time in the near future.''
first of all, they had not been in touch, second of all I would never want a voucher from a car rental company based in one location, for the off chance I'll be in Sicily again?!!!
this saga continued until LAST WEEK (its now the 4th of December) where the customer service at vehicle-rent.com paid me, wow rent refused to give any form of refund and lied when queried by their own broker on it. They concluded this is what they should pay out to me (and had not been in contact in any way shape or form):
'' Dear Partner,
we have to decline the request of 3 rental days refund after considering that it’s true that a/c didn’t work but it was the only issue of the vehicle, that has not affected the performance of the same.
The client could still use the car despite this problem, in any case, we recognise the inconvenience of offering him a voucher for a next reservation.
Thanks for letting us know if he accepts our offer.''
try driving a car in 40 degree heat with an AC unit that is blowing HOT air into your car and deem that usable.
Anyway, vehicle-rent paid out what wow rent would not so credit to the broker, but wow-rent are a truly awful company and a pack of liars.

I had a good rental experience with this company but 3 months after I had a €70 charge to my credit card with no explanation why. After contacting the company they told me it was for a road fine and issued a receipt with someone else’s name and address on it. I have tried emailing them to tell them they charged the wrong person but so far have not got my money back! I wouldn’t use them again. It seems very unoraganised and dishonest.

We used Wow rental in Sardinia in August 2018. Their customer service is appalling. Considering the car company is usually your first contact with a local person in the new country you are visiting you would think there would be a “hello, how are you?” Nothing. Surly, uncommunicative, rude. Luckily they did not charge us anything extra or blame us for any scratches etc. to the car as I see many reviewers have experienced. But we could see them accusing other drivers of small scratches/problems etc. when we collected the car. So we were worried when we returned the car, even though we know nothing had happened to the car, and that is not a nice way to end a holiday. They were the cheapest car rental which Is why we used them. But I wouldn’t use them again.

DO NOT USE! We booked by PayPal, and they ripped us off 60€ for a late arrival to pickup car, and took our card details. Charged us 270€ for a non-existant scratch upon return. Now, 3 months later, we noticed our account had 70€ taken out, unauthorised by us, from WOWRENT. If you have used this company, cancel your card if they have your details. We tried to get money back from our excess carhire insurance, and WOW said they didn't have both our names down as drivers. Very dodgy company.

ROBBERY! DO NOT RENT WITH WOW RENT. If you don't want to be robbed don't rent with them. When they give you the car they check it in seconds and they don't mark all the scratches (we were the ones you alerted them to some of the scratches, they don't look at the mirrors for example) and then when you give the car back they look at everything with huge detail to try to find things that they didn't mark at the beginning (now they look at the mirrors) and make you pay huge amounts of money for things you didn't do. Worst, when you complain they say they don't understand what you are saying (now they don't understand English anymore!) and deny giving you their names. We payed 154 euros for a 1 mm scratch in the mirror we didn't do, we complained, they refused to give their names (the responsible person said his name was Marco but no last name and the girl that did the check out didn't say her name) and became aggressive.
Really if you don't want to waste money do not use this company. They are not honest and should be closed.
