I do not usually write negative reviews ever but this is just ridiculous. Waste management comes by today and takes the garbage in the can; however in 8 years (literally) I always had everything in the can...this time I happened to have 1 box to many which I put next to the can and it is still next to the can. What happened to the days that when Sanitation got out and took your garbage? Now if they can't stay in the cab and use the mechanical arm your garbage is not taken. Trust me I understand the want to make as much profit and use only 1 person but come on.
I even called waste management but that was a "Waste" I'm going to check if there is another Sanitation Dept. & There are 6-7 of my neighbors who will switch once I do.....not that they'll care but we wil because it has happened to a few of them I just found out.

Worst company I've ever heard of. Took me 7 days to set up service, once the service was set up, I received an email that indicated my dumpster was delivered. Day two still cannot find the dumpster that was supposedly delivered at my address. Then day 3 received an email saying that they cannot provide the service. Don't waste your time

You sign their waste contract you are making a deal with the Devil
no fee schedule -- they just charge what they want when they want
cancel their service / end the contractual relationship with them and they will try to charge you a pickup fee that is almost 2 x what they charge to dump it 4 times in a month -- where does that come from -- as far as I am concerned you can leave the container and I will scoot it over and make room for my new waste company which operates a reasonable/ fair business

They clearly arent even a 1 star company i started my service end of Feb never picked it up 4 weeks go by and nothing i call to complain after 3 phone calls later they finally picked up just one can i called several times now they are refunding my initial charge and i am going elsewhere never has anyone been so back woods then having a site manager call me and tell me they are friends woth my neighbor and know exactly where i live and tell me the cans are not sitting out when they were in the same exact spot they dropped off my cans to i said they have been sitting there every week and are there now because the lady i spke to said leave them we will have them picked up. Never NEVER EVER WOULD I RECOMEND THEIR SERVICE ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!

If I could rate them lower I would.....We had a business contract with them and we were waiting for it to expire and move into another office to change to someone else. As they have awful customer service and the wheels kept falling off of our dumpster. Price increases were outrageous. So I called them and never was told that my contract had auto renewed in September of last year was provided pricing that was also in some cases 40% more than other vendors. Went with another vendor called them back and some with a manager that was as rude as could be and kept telling me that I signed the contract so I must have know about the auto renewal for another three years. Then they are going to charge a small business in the middle of a pandemic $1,200 to get out of the contract...unbelieveable...they are horrible, would never do business with them again! Oh and when I told them that I wanted them to contact me via email so I had a paper trail they told me they could not and someone would call me...omg horrible!

I have used Waste Management for years, but because their prices kept going up I decided to look for other options. I let my 3-month prepayment expire, but didn't pay the bill for the upcoming quarter since I would no longer be using their service. I never used their service again, but they not only charged me for the following quarter, but they sent it to a debt collector!! Their services are entirely prepaid. If I don't pay, they don't provide a service, end of story. I am still getting calls from a debt collector about the bill for the quarter I didn't pay upfront, and for which they provided no service. Unbelievable.

Here I am at week 4 with no pick up. Customer service passes the buck around with no results. After being told a driver is being rerouted to pick up to different days that they do not show up or pass by.
We have 5 complaints filed with no results. So I guess my only option is take off work on the normal pick up day and hold the truck up until they take my garbage.

My garbage wasn't picked up and so I waited until the next week and it still wasn't picked up. There is no button on their website like it says in the instructions to report the missed pickup. When the service rep called me she was SO RUDE! TERRIBLE service. Looking for another company.

Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I never had an issue with pickup. My problems stem from billing. When I first started the service it was about $111.00/quarter. After about 2 years, I noticed by bill suddenly increased by about $30.00 due to a fuel surcharge. Which was a shady way of quietly increasing my bill. I was angered by this & started shopping around. I then called & told them I was going to go elsewhere because I can get service from a competitor for half the price. They offered to match, but I refused. Then, they tell me that I've already payed the full quarter & they won't refund my money. So, rode out the remainder of Q4 with them. Then on January 2, I call them back & give them a chance to renegotiate. We came to an agreement that they'd charge me $75/quarter & even credit my account for $75 from Q4 2019. So, I then would not owe them for Q1 2020. Fast forward a month, they cancel my service due to lack of payment. I call them again & tell them that I'm not supposed to owe anything due to the agreement. I get reassured several times on the phone that it'll be rectified. Good to go? NOPE! I get hit with yet another invoice & a threat of service cancellation if I don't pay. That was it, I was done at that point. I called them to cancel my service for real this time & told them to send me a final invoice in the mail. I was very clear on the phone that I want this invoice, so I can have proof of final payment, satisfying the account in full. I was supposed to owe only $26.00 or so. Now, a month or so later, I get an invoice in the mail. It's for $150.00 with a threat to turn me into collections if I don't pay!!! They "cancelled" my service & literally threaten to ruin my credit! My service was supposed to have been cancelled weeks ago!!! Not only that, but I log into my online account to find an invoice for $126.00. It does NOT match the invoice for $150.00. I'm at my wits end now. I called their phone number only to find that they have completely shut their customer service down due to COVID-19. You can't reach a single person. I paid the $126.00 invoice figuring I MIGHT be able to resolve this once I can reach someone. I've been lied to so many times that I really don't believe anything they tell me. If this keeps up, my next step is to hire a lawyer & go after them for their unethical business practices. I'm not playing.

If I could leave a no star rating I would!!! These sorry a** sons of bit**** have not picked up my re-cycle 4 TIMES SINCE FEB 9th. I have called twice and again.... not picked up. You call them, no answer!!! This is the worst company!!!! They work with trash and their service is trash!!!!

So I have had waste management and was late making my payment understandable $5 late fee...then I notice a $50 charge for (resume service fee)...I was so mad about it I called to cancel my curb side service to find out I will be charged an additional $75 for cancelation of my service...beware before you order the service...it's worth paying a little more money to another company like Granger to not have to be penalized $55 for being late!...we all fall on hard times.

It’s expensive. The late fees are expensive. They’ll pick up bulk items some of the times. Took my mattress wrapped in plastic. Took a tv. Then wouldn’t take a different tv the same size. Sometimes wouldn’t grab an additional box or bag on the side. Sometimes they would. If you have extra cans, they charge. If you request them to come by because you missed garbage day one time, they’ll charge you $75. They get your money anyway they can and do a half as job picking up trash. Glad I switched.

These people are con artists hiding behind over-lawyered contracts designed to trap you into a lifetime of automatic renewals, overage charges, “contamination” fees and other nonsense. Their customer service team is full of people who seem to have no interest in helping, and all the interest in screwing you over. I have “officially” canceled my dumpster service with WM three times in the past six months and they refuse to acknowledge. Best never to sign on with these creeps, because the fight to get out is real.

I was with Waste Management for many years in Duluth, Minnesota. I had been paying the bill on time by sending them a check by mail. Back in November of 2019 I sent them a check by mail to Carol Stream, Illinois for $47.87. They contacted me by email threatening me to discontinue service because they said I did not pay them. I faxed them a copy of the front and back of the check that I had sent them. The check had been cashed. Waste Management claimed that they did not cash it. The back of the check was stamped by Citi Bank not by J. P. Morgan who Waste Management told me they used. I have turned this check in for fraud. In the meantime I did pay Waste Management what I owed them and have switched garbage collection companies. Now I have found out that I have a credit of about $56 at Waste Management which they say will take 6 to 8 weeks for them to send me. These people are HORRIBLE as far as customer service goes. They have been VERY DIFFICULT to deal with over this matter. Their company absolutely should be put in a huge garbage bin. Sincerely, Steve Lichterman Duluth, MN

WASTE MANAGEMENT IS HORRIBLE!
We have several properties only 1 we have waste management at. Rates changes every week, they say you have a contract that you have never signed and if you have automatic payment set up and the bill is paid they say you excepted the charges and that is that. We own our own business and never would I treat a customer like that.

The driver knocks over everyone's unemptied cans at least twice a month and just drives off. I pay for full service and I'm lucky if they pick it up at all.

Been using service for almost 4 years now and has missed so many pickups its impossible to count. At least 1 every 2 weeks, they really hate picking up our yard debris, they have NEVER picked up our glass bin EVER, so we stopped using it.... More conversations with customer support then i care to remember, mostly lies from them false statements excuses corporate jargon, we have cameras out front and can prove the non pickups, i record them all. fun company ....

This is THE worst company EVER!!! They say that they recycle and charge extra for you to have a recycling bin. Then they indiscriminately attach numerous exorbitant "FEES" to your bill for items in your recycle bin that they do not want to recycle. Then when you try to cancel their service for not doing what they said they would do, they try to charge over a $1,000.00 in more fees to stop the service and to pick up their dumpsters. They refuse to discontinue the service and claim that a contract signed 7 years ago is still in effect even though the person who signed that contract is no longer associated with our business. I would never recommend this service to anyone. Do NOT use Waste Management!!!!

Site kept dropping my payment method. Eventually I got sick of it and called to cancel, asked for an invoice showing everything was canceled. They never sent one. Then I got a bill. Called to cancel again... they wouldn't remove the bill. I cancelled again and required an invoice showing the amount due. They never sent an invoice. Today I got an invoice for the bill plus late fees.
I'm not paying anything for this scam.

I joined WM when representative visited my home (few other neighbors also joined at the same time). We were told by WM representative during signed up that there will be no cancellation charge.
I paid quarterly (for the month of July, august, September - 2019). I canceled service from 9/1/2019 onward (due to dissatisfaction of service as my garbage was not picked up properly) through registered mail (Confirmed date 8/28) and also confirmed by call. They picked up garbage bin around 9/5/2019.
I received last quarter bill (October, November, December – 2019).
Removal 75.00
Fuel / environmental charge 24.13 (10/1/2019)
Regulatory cost recovery charge 3.57 (10/1/2019)
Administrative charge 6.50(10/1/2019)
I contacted WM as I do not agree with your last quarter 2019 bill and disputing it as it breech your representatives promise and your bill. WM charge me 75$ for garbage bill removal. Also why WM charge me (Fuel, Regulatory, Administrative charges ) while I already cancel service from September 2019 onwards. They keep sending me bills with some increment.
I am so frustrated and did not expect such service from company like WM.
WM provided me service for only two months in third quarter of 2019 so technically I need refund for September.
I called them but no one listen and asking me to pay charges. So I sent email to "WMCARES at WM.COM" on 9/26 but no reply. I faxed them at main office on 1/24/2020 but no reply.

I was bringing down my recycle and the worker looked at me seeing I was barely 20 feet from him and drove off. not a single ounce of caring in his body. same guy has done this to us multiple times. company defended him saying its policy. this company is a joke

Waste management service is extremely poor. If I had another choice I would quit their service tomorrow. They have little concern for their customers and know that they are the only choice to customers. They think nothing about not collecting garbage for weeks and yet the customer still has to pay the regular amount! Outrageous!!
