I ordered, read the real reviews and decided against it. Canceled the same day. Couple of months later I got a call from ups, the glasses had been sent anyway. If I could also pay the 70 USD vat charge. I laughed and told the guy he could send em back.
Aggressive marketing campaigns using clickbait and guilt trip methods. Reviews on website are blatantly false, when compared to reviews on trust pilot. Greedy incompetent people. Stay away.

Cant really speak about the product since is been 2 month (from 29/8 till 29/10 today)and I had the delivery guy at my door only this morning asking for 60 extra euros of delivery fees to Italy so my only suggestions so far are...be very very patient and consider, if you live in Italy (but my guess is that is not the only country), another 60 euros over the price of the glasses...that's all!

It's a scam. My William Painter glasses broke under their own weight while hanging on my shirt collar. I returned them a month and a half ago for an exchange. I've been writing them for weeks asking when the replacement pair will come. They always say it will only be a couple more days.
Edit: They were finally returned. So I have increased my rating to two-star. It may not be a full on scam. But it's dodgy.

Worst customer service ever. Sun glasses were delivered fine, returned three months later with scratched lenses as per warranty that claims they will replace for any reason. Wrong sunglasses were delivered to me and months later I am still waiting for the correct pair. No one responds to email and no one answers their phone but they do continue to sent me sales emails frequently. I am now working with my credit card company to get my money back. Don’t do business with this company. They do not honor their warranty which is their big selling point.

William Painter have slick advertising and feel good marketing, they want you to feel AMAZING. They are TOTAL CHARLATANS.
They then do not deliver at any point in the customer experience.
Glasses don’t arrive (for months) - received one pair 4 months after order and payment. Still emailing back and forth for the second pair. I am shocked that there is any company still trading whose promise and delivery are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
Shocking. Avoid. Do not take the risk, if you value your time.

Beware, after paying the postage you sit back and wait, UPS knock your door looking for another £60 approx. for custom payments, duty, more carriage and VAT, I refused to accept them having paid a top notch price that RayBan would not even charge. After doing a VAT check with HMRC they say have never ever had a VAT payment from this company, leaving one to assume where your extra money goes.
Readers can decide themselves if they wish to deal with this company or not.

Do you know what people hate? Surprise fees mentioned nowhere during the checkout process.
A shipping fee of $19.95 was all that was included in my order to Ireland, and then UPS arrive at my door looking for €5.34 for customs duty, €43.62(!) for taxes, AND €18.45 for shipping I thought was already paid.
To top it off, the glasses are made in China. I feel extremely ripped-off.

Product never received. Ordered glasses directly from website 1 month ago. No shipping email yet. When contact William Painter by phone or email, no response. If you actually get through on the phone, they take your order #, say they will look into it and call you back, then NOTHING! We are contacting bank for charge back.

Wow, awful experience...I order a pair of sunglasses for my boyfriend's birthday and needless to say that after 3 weeks it's still not here and there are is no chance to get them.
The guy from UPS said he tried to deliver, but that he couldn't reach me(weird because I was home and we have a concierge there 24/7) and he called the sender(William Painter) and they've told him to abandon the package without a notification. The people from UPS told me that if I want the package the sender, should call them and ask them to deliver it again.
I raise a ticket with William Painter and explain my situation and that they need to call UPS and someone from support(Brittany) sends back the tracking number. I wrote her back and explain the situation again and after that no answer.
I tried calling UPS again and ask them if there isn't anything else I could do considering I spend more than 200$ and the William Painter is not answering - no solution.
After 2 days I wrote back to William Painter asking for a refund with no answer again.
Please, make yourself a favor and stay away from this company. You will expect that after you pay that amount of money you will get better support but in the end, it looks like it's a big waste of time and money.

I've order four pairs, two hooks, one oasis (for my wife), and one constellation and enjoy all four pairs. Have had a few people say they like the styling of the glasses, got adequate glare protection, and the constellations is a solid pair of driving glasses with cars that have overhead displays. Shipping was very fast (east coast usa).

The problem with William Painter.
TLDR - Never received Glasses - sent back to USA - up to me to go and collect apparently.
Having attempted to be a customer, I have experienced almost the entire sales cycle.
I fell for the wonderful group of fun loving young people that had seemingly reinvented an old and slow moving market in the first video I saw.
I went to the site and picked out exactly what I wanted with the belief that the metal frames would solve every problem I have ever experienced with glasses.
Once purchased, I sat and enjoyed all of the after sales emails that came though thinking I was now part of this movement. Some of the links didn't work so well and I was unable to get an estimate for delivery, but hey, new company, give them some slack etc.
After a month or so still waiting I was starting to wonder where my life changing glasses are. I did some digging to find out that not only had the parcel arrived in the uk, but there was an attempted delivery at 2am with no note left. Had since
Having raised the issue with screen shots and evidence I was told that the package was now back in the USA and needed to be collected from a depo. William painter could not help with this as it was up to me to collect the package, from the USA. Decided not to grab the flight from London to finish off the terrible customer experience.
The change from feeling part of something to being left out to dry is what really sucks. I know it was just good marketing, but at least try to be who you say you are.

Very disappointed after seeing the brilliant ad campaign.
-1st) Made in China? For f sakes! Wttfff is that about for 200 dollars! Nowhere in your ad campaign made this clear, actually, it is very deceiving into making one think it is made in the USA.
2nd) Plastic lenses!?! They are not very well, easily gets dirty and smudgy and they will scratch very easily. Also, they distort my view especially when looking at display like on your phone or tablet. Not usable! (tested on Samsung and iphone)
3rd) The "titanium" frames are painted or coated and after opening a few bottles, the black colour is starting to come off.
I am a user/wearer of proper sunglasses for over 30yrs and I take them very, very seriously, more than a majority of the public. I don't mind paying for a good pair.
In the end, it is lucky that I gave even 2stars which is only for the cool faktor.
Price= 1 star - why? made in China! Wtttfff?! Actually this made me angry and disappointed so much! Don't deceive!
Quality =2 star - paint coming off the hook after 2wks and the lenses
Usability = 1 star - can not use while using your phone or tablet. Didn't think that one through very well.
Cool Faktor = 4 star - only because of the bottle opener. Also the design look is cool.

It’s really painful to order a sun glasses from William Painter to Switzerland. I was attracted by their advertising and ordered one. They are totally crab! They sent wrong item. I ordered black/pink/gold and they sent me black/black/black. The worst thing is they charged me already $37 for international delivery and tax. And when the glasses arrived Switzerland, i have to pay another 34 Swiss franken for tax again. I asked them why they charged me tax once and i have to pay twice but there is no answer for this.
When i asked them i want to return, they said they dont pay for shipping fee and if i want to exchange another one i have pay for shipping fee to US and i have to pay for another tax to received another one. That’s really cost alot from Switzerland to do these procedures.
I would like to warn people not from US don’t buy from William Painter because you will get lots of trouble and lost money for tax and otherstuff if they sent wrong products.
I wish i read reviews about them before i bought!

I bought one pair and they were hideous. I returned them and agreed to exchange for another pair instead of getting my money back. How stupid was that? After that order was placed, they said they were out of the second set of glasses I ordered and it would be two weeks before they received the glasses. Didn't they know they didn't have stock before I order the replacement pair??? It has now been 5 weeks since my first purchase and I don't have any sunglasses. My suggestion, stay away from this dysfunctional company. I can only hope that such an atrocious company would soon go into bankruptcy, and disappear from the face of the planet. Don't go near these jerks...

So after my first day with William Painter, got to say i was very dissapointed. The Staff: They notify you when the package is on the way and you wait 3-10 days. Not buisness days. Shipping internationally its 45.00 usually. Luckily i live in the USA. just halfway across the map from the factory. I recieved them when i was at college and as i excitedly open the package i realized. My Box was upward. which means they were thrown in there, not handled with care like they tell you in the email! ALSO They wrap the sunglasses in plastic (Im not joking) Now remember folks this is a KICKSTARTER COMPANY meaning two guys in they're garage thought "hey we should build sunglasses out of cheap titanium and make it out of china and just resell the product for more!" 195.00 Sale price for the hook : The sale price. What the hell? 195.00 for sunglasses like do i want to break my bank? NO. I bought these on a whim. Not expecting the best but as advertised they are supposed to be. The End Goal: When receiving the sunglasses you instantly realize "Congrats you are stupid" now the sunglasses are heavy. VERY heavy. They will also hurt your head just being wrapped around the front of your face. "Sunglasses your face will love" LIES. I had them not even for 24 hours and i already hate them!. Good job William Painter. Your a absolute moron and youve scammed youre buyers.

Paid for sunglasses 3 weeks ago. Have received nothing and no order update communications despite 5 email requests for order status updates.
The only thing william painter seems to be capable of so far is spamming the hell out of me every single day with marketing emails.
Please send me my sunglasses and leave me alone!

I bought a pair of their sunglasses and is not a fan of them considered the price. also the tracking such!
And now that I want to return the product are they not answering their mail, and the website tells me that a return from my country isn't possible... Witch I wasn't informed about at any time!

Okay I can't speak for some of the other reviews on the William Painter sunglasses but I do want to add my 2 cents in on this because I just received a new pair in the mail today. Yes they are expensive but I wouldn't expect a pair of sunglasses made from titanium and have a lifetime warranty to come cheap. I ordered The Empires. The quality of the product I found to be top notch. No scratches or any signs that this product was a returned item. Totally looked brand new. Delivery time was about a week and postage was free since I live in the continental US. As for customer service, I did sent them an email to get a status on the shipment and I got a reply back within a few hours. Not bad considering this was a weekend. So I guess the question boils down to would I buy a pair of William Painters again? In short the answer is yeah, I would. But not everyone spends that kind of money on a pair of glasses. The pair I bought was a birthday gift to myself. And I'll be doing some traveling later on this year and I wanted to be rocking a good pair sunglasses. You never know who you're going to meet.

This is hands down my favorite sunglass company. I have been supporting and wearing their glasses for nearly 4 years. I started by Kickstarting the Level glasses and now also own the Oasis and the Constellation. The Oasis are by far my favorite. I've had multiple other friends buy the Oasis after trying on mine. I've had to interact with their customer service on a couple of occasions and they've been nothing but helpful. I'm really not sure what happened with some of these 1-star reviews. Had to leave my own since I've had such a great experience with their products and the company in general.

Pros, nice design, nice materials. quick delivery. Empire arms are phenomenal, you will never bend these arms! Very impressive strength. Sloan lenses are a pleasure to look through.
cons, my sloan and empire are second hand, (some signs of use could be customs though),
Sloan arms have a lot of play with one arm have much more than the other.
Sloan has imperfections in both the lense and frame, only minor but they are there..
Empire has minor scratch that won't polish out from the lense (i noticed it immediately, my bro saw it quickly but mum could't see it) .
50 quid import taxes to the uk
Asked for a refund 2 days ago, heard nothing.
These glasses are not terrible, they do look good! If they refunded my money and said just keep the defective glasses that have obviously been returned by a customer before me, leaving me out of pocket the 50 quid import tax i'd be happy, I would pay 25 quid a piece for these, but no way the 250 quid i paid all in.

They need to show ALL reviews sent to their website. The few 1 star reviews they have all show they are from 2 years ago or older. I had to send back a pair because of the size/fit and it took several emails and weeks before they reimbursed me. Left a lower star review and it never showed. Just think they should provide all reviews so people can view the good and bad.
