Received an email about a week ago, stating that I had funds in their bank account that, "has had no deposits or withdrawals for some time."
Then this very next line, with removal of the amount specified.
"You currently have a balance of $--.-- in your WePay account and must be withdrawn immediately."
I now had two red flags. Firstly, never heard of WePay until now. Secondly, the language is unprofessional, on the verge of being hostile.
I debated for a few minutes as to the validity of this email. All the signs were pointing to a potential scam. The amount is what struck me as odd. Even if I had an older bank account, the amount they say I still had was so low you could make an argument of forgetting about it, but not so high that I wouldn't have definitely pulled it out if I wasn't using one of their accounts anymore, or possibly an older bank I've used being changed, bought or sold or simply rebranded and I'm late on the memo.
So I decided to check the internet instead...
A very short look on the bad reviews, answered my doubts.
You've saved me all from giving information that would've probably been abused. Thank you.

Stay away from wepay
I tried we pay. Customers would order items and we would send them out. The customers are then required to approve the purchase. If they don't approve the purchase 30 days later they take the money out of your account. The customer has the item and they just don't have to approve the purchase and then they don't pay and you have the money taken from you. I have lost over a thousand dollars due to this policy of WEPAY. I would never ever recommend them. Stay away.

I honestly cannot believe how poorly a possible fraud issue was handled. They have SO MUCH automation in place that before they knew everything about the situation WePay double drew from my bank account and then overdrew my bank account by over $10k.
There isn't a phone number to call, there are only online tickets. Their support people start automatic processes before relaying to YOU, the user, all the facts about what and how much they are going to pull from your account. I didn't have any control over the situation or their hands into my bank account. I told them I was POSSIBLY part of an elaborate fraud scam, and they started an automatic process of pulling money from my account which I didn't authorize after learning just how they were going to do it. I had more questions about the situation and process - but they started pulling money back out of my account anyway and overdrew my account. I had to call my bank and ask for forgiveness for the overdrawn account. WePay then went BACK AT IT after I told them to stop because I felt I had lost control of the situation not only from where I was being POSSIBLY scammed AND WePay. Now the "client" (likely scammer) issued a chargeback. Which was fine, I wanted to see them do that - BUT we have a signed contract which specifically states the client's deposits are all final - which I submitted to WePay upon notice of the chargeback. Apparently, my documentation didn't matter and their automatic process just keeps moving in favor of the fraudulent client that I TRIED TO STOP IN THE FIRST PLACE. Today I get a notice saying my account is negative $10k with them and they are going to pull the funds from my account.
..I mean, I can't even believe how terrible this situation has been handled. I tried to do the right thing and take this process step-by-step but WePay wasn't interested in helping me understand the process or listening to me or even OKAYing with me when and what they were pulling from my actual bank account.
On top of that I've issued a stop payment on them and then THEY CHANGED their name and got through my bank's stop payment set-up. I feel so unbelievably violated I cannot tell you.
Where this stands now is that I'm overdrafted and the scammer got all the money. I've spent HOURS on this and left with all the problems.

I had a software problem, which is too complicated to describe here. Sean received my request for assistance. Due to the nature of the problem, it took a bit of time to figure out what needed be done. Sean patiently worked with me on the issue, promptly returned emails, and determined the source of the problem. I am grateful Sean received my request and was able to 'make my day'. Thanks!

run from this company they take your money but dont transfer it to you. they never even contacted me about it can you imagine. there is no way to contact them either I had to contact Freshbooks which I will never use again because they recommended the thieves at wepay. they still have my funds for over a month asking the same questions about my business over and over again even though I supplied the info they supposedly needed. no phone number no email address. literally can't believe this is a legal business. if you want your money stolen sign up they do a good job at stealing, THERE REPLY BELOW WHICH THEY RESPONDED TO IMMEDIATELY UNLIKE THE TIME THEY TAKE TO ACTUALLY RESPOND TO THEIR CUSTOMERS IS BS. THEY NEVER EVEN CONTACTED ME FOR INFORMATION. I HAD TO GO LOOKING FOR MY MONEY AND CONTACTED FRESHBOOKS I NEVER RECEIVED ONE EMAIL FROM WEPAY ASKING FOR SAID INFORMATION . THAT IS NOT IN THEIR USER AGREEMENT. THEY ARE SHAMEFUL WITH ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST READ THEIR HORRIBLE REVIEWS ALL OVER THE INTERNET I WISH I HAD

Sean was awesome and I don’t believe my issue would of been resolved without his help. It took the team two days to respond which is something they could work on but not a huge deal. Once Sean responded he had my issue fixed same day. I appreciate the team I was gonna switch payment providers after this issue was resolved but Sean won my business back with his excellent customer service skills. Thanks sean
