Last summer Wayside Gardens had a special for peonies, and I ordered three for the amount of $74.61. They said the peonies would be shipped at my region's planting time which was early September. When Sept. 29 arrived, and no peonies had been shipped. I sent an email to their customer service department asking for a status on my order. I received a confirmation that they received my email, but as of October 6 I have received no response. Winter comes early here in Colorado and when (if ) the peonies ever arrive it will probably be snowing here. I will never order from them again. Inexcusable!

I ordered a couple perennials last summer, to be delivered in September. They were jammed in a box with bent stems and started dying within three days, couldn't revive them. Called Wayside for replacements, but they had none, instead gave me a credit. They can't say whether these plants will ship in the spring, so I may have to wait a whole year to order them again. If they come dead as well, I'm out of luck - have to wait another year. In the meantime, they did not refund my $15 shipping charge, so If I want to go through this ordeal again next year I'm taking another $15 chance that I'll get living plants. I don't like this way of doing business - either a company stands behind their products or they don't. Wayside doesn't. Be careful before placing an order, know the pitfalls of dealing with them on such a one-sided agreement.

I ordered plants with request to send in spring arrival shipping also says apprropriate shippibg according to zone thry artived today in zone 4, we are having 20* temps st night already, oct 28
i called WG and customer rep said id have to pay return shipping and 20% restocking fee told her Id never shop WG again they cant even check temp and zones appropriate shippi g zones!!!
so I am forced to plant these plants, which will die

Following up on my June review and Trustpoint advising me of Wayside Garden response to send the Strick It Rich rose plant to them and yhe horticulturist will look at problem. Sent back Priority Mail July 13, 2019 and arrived at Wayside Representive Post Office Box on July 16th at 7:57 am delivery. Well. never heard from Wayside and August I emailed Wayside at [email protected]
Jarrod responded and I re-examined all the USPS tracking/delivery info. Well, then more emails back and forth Aug. 13th, Aug. 20th, Aug. 23rd ..which I never received replies. I emailed on Aug. 28th and no reply again. Called USPS on Aug. 29th and filed for case to see if the Hodges SC Post Office had any info. Today, Aug. 30th, at 3:00 PM I heard back from Postal Inspector and the Priority Mail package, image on screen to, delivered to and was picked up by a representative of Wayside Gardens, 1 Garden Lane,Hodges, SC 29695-0001. I notified Wayside via email of my findings. Most likely I will not hear back. Will never order Jackson & Perkin Rose's On-line ever again

Received a Summer's Gold Kousa Dogwood from Wayside in April 2019. Side branches did not leaf out. Within a few months the tree was dead. Wayside only guarantees a tree for 90 days.
Customer Service "Supervisor " hung up on me.
I have been a customer for over 30 years, but never again.
Changed rating from 1 star to 5 star. I'm back as a customer.
Received call from Wayside with an assurance of an acceptable replacement. They were very prompt and accomodating.

Update on my previous rating for resolution of Jackson& Perkins Strike It Rich rose purchase/replacement. Trustpilot representative, Angela at J&P (Wayside Gardens), and Karen..all responded on Aug. 30th and Sept. 5th. Refund was issued and transaction posted Sept. 6th.

This is not the company it used to be. Order delays without notifications, or communication. No response to emails either. Never again. It's really sad the way this company is run now. Not trustworthy anymore. Don't waste your money.

Wayside Gardens has really gone down hill. I ordered 3 cone flowers and they arrived about 2 inches tall and in very bad condition. Paid over $15 dollars per plant. I put them in the ground and at this point they have done nothing after 3 weeks. I did receive my money back, but really! Also, ordered coreopsis Charlene. It came in a "quart" container. Looked bad and after taking it out of the pot discovered about 2 inches of spindly roots. It too is not performing. Did not get my money back on it. Better to buy at Walmart.

The plants are fine and good size upon arrival. They’re regular prices are high so I only shop their sales. However I was shocked to see they’re still using packing peanuts of styrofoam! No one uses those Anya’s they’re so horrible for the environment and the consumer. That alone will prevent me from shopping there again.

I had ordered two quart size Berberis 'Admiration' shrubs. I knew they would be small, however I was not expecting two extremely tiny totally dried out shrubs with one side to them. Personally, I do not think anyone in the nursery business would call what they shipped me actual shrubs. Most of the branches were brittle and had no leaves. An entire side on one of the shrubs was dead. Just like the two awful shrubs, I had received from their partnering company Jackson Perkins, the other shrub was missing one side and it wasn't in the box, so they knowingly shipped me a shrub missing an entire side! Why would you even ship shrubs looking like that to a paying customer? Do you really think when a customer places an order they want to receive shrubs that are in such poor condition, practically dead with dried out roots and missing half its structure. They refused to publish my honest review on the site, so I am now going to post it everywhere else.

Plants arrived diseased contacted customer service 6 times finally heard back and followed up with pictures. That's the last I heard from them. Posted negative reviews on their site. Guess what didn't get posted. Done with these Yahoo's.

Personally I would stay clear of Wayside. I ordered two 3packs of Asclepias 'Cinderella' - Pack of 3 Plants per website ordering. I received TWO PLANTS !! I called and customer service said it was an advertising misprint !! They never offered to allow me to send the two plants back for a full refund. Don't deal with a business that does not own up to their mistakes. I am sure there are many on-line nurseries who CARE about customer satisfaction !!

No urgency in delivering live plants. I ordered six Red Creeping Thymes. Received an email saying they were shipped on May 22, 2019 with a tracking number. I tracked my order and was informed the plants would be delivered on May 28, 2019. I received the plants after 6PM on May 28th. Taking an entire week to deliver live plants is ridiculous. Needless to say, they were all dead.

I cannot believe the absolute unprofessionalism of your company.
I placed order number WEBWG1978948 on your website on Sunday, May 5th, paying for expedited overnight shipping because I wanted to make sure this gift arrived on time and in good condition.
Monday, May 6: No information on my order
Tuesday, May 7: No information on my order
Wednesday, May 8: No information on my order. So this time I call and wait on hold forever and finally give up getting a real person.
Thursday, May 9: I call again in the morning and speak to a customer service representative. She informed me that my order had been taken to the shipping dock and would go out that day or the next. I was very clear to her that I had to deliver by Saturday and asked if they did Saturday delivery. She said yes. I again reiterated that not only did it need to arrive by Saturday, but that I did not want it going out if it was going to sit in a box in a warehouse on Sunday. She understood and said it would be no problem.
Friday, May 10: I get the email update with the tracking number that my order has shipped, but the tracking number gives no information yet since the order hasn’t been picked up.
Saturday, May 11: I check the tracking number to see that my package is going to now deliver on Monday. Meaning it will arrive late, and sit in a box for four days. I call your customer service line and wait on hold for 17 minutes before getting a real person who said there was nothing she could do. I explained that the order is no good to me on Monday, so I need a full refund. She says she can refund the shipping only. Obviously this is unacceptable. Wayside Gardens failed to deliver on their promise. I placed an order for overnight delivery, and now you’re delivering 8 days later. She said the only way to get a full refund is to deny the package. But I cannot deny the package unless I wait at the door for 8 hours for when the UPS delivery comes. Why is it that I did my part in placing this order, Wayside is the company that failed their end, and I have to do more work?
The product is no use to me now. This is no one’s fault but your company’s, but yet you’re telling me it will take more work on my end to fix your mistakes. This is completely unacceptable and I do expect a call from a manager since your people on the phone have no authority to do anything.

Too bad there isn’t a 1/3 star! Styrofoam should not be used by a company shipping plants. It has taken me months to remove the styrofoam from my garden. I mistakenly opened your box in the yard. The styrofoam was strewn everywhere. What in the world were you thinking? It took me months to find all of the pieces. Shame on you!!

There is absolutely nothing positive to be said about this place... Customer service is nonexistent. I ordered plants for my daughter for her Xmas present, items she requested. She changed her mind about several to be delivered in April, Wayside REFUSED to let her change the order. I had to call them and threaten to cancel the purchase before they allowed the change. I also told them not to send me catalogs when I initially ordered for her in Nov of 2017. Naturally, they disregarded my instructions and continue to send me catalogs to this day, 08.24.18, even though, every time I receive one, I call and tell them to stop sending.

One of the clematis I ordered didn't look as healthy as the 2nd one I bought but I planted it and it's doing well. Delivery was very good. I would order again.

There was a brief mix-up and they immediately righted it, no questions asked. They do what they say they are going to do and stand behind their products. I have used Wayside and Parkes for years.
