flew with Volotea on two occasion, first flight from Athens to Santorini. we upgraded to priority (which cost about 40-50 euro extra) and it included carry on suitcase, priority check-in, able to pick seats, and in flight snack. there was a priority boarding line, we were able to bring our carry on without any problems. There was delay in over an hour because of "sky traffic" but overall the flight was fine.
Our second flight from Mykonos to Athens was a nightmare. we also upgraded to priority. There was no priority line. everyone were grouped together, there wasn't even a line. People just crowded together to get on. We were told that we had to pay extra for our carry on luggage even though it was the same suitcase that we brought from Athens to Santorini 3 days prior!! Customer service was rude, forced us to pay $60 euro extra for each suitcase even though we paid extra for priority to ensure we can bring our carry on suitcase onboard. I don't understand how on one flight our carry on suitcase was not an issue and three days later it was with the SAME AIRLINE. We paid around $300 euro (2 suitcase, priority for 2 people for 2 flights) additional to our flight. to make matter things worse, they took my suitcase because there was "not enough space in the cabin". Per volotea when you upgrade to priority they "ensure your hand baggage travels with you in the cabin". yeah my suitcase never made it up to the cabin. When I got my suitcase back, the wheel was broken.
lets just say lesson learned, and a lot of money wasted. never will I fly with volotea and will not be recommending this airline to any of my friends or families.

Go on Facebook, google reviews any one of them. Don’t book they will charge you extra for any reason. AVOID. Trust me they look appealing but it isn’t worth it pay a few dollars more than get ripped off
We got to the airport 3 hrs prior they told us we had to pay 30 euro for not checking in online 2 hrs prior. I told her we still have time she said no u have to pay. Rip off

Terrible airline. Terrible customer service. Prices look cheap but they make their money charging you for anything they can think of for example not checking in online 30 euros per person/baggage another charge. If you miss the boarding gates by two minutes not even kidding they will not help at all.

Poor Customer service. Booked a flight from Seville to Balboa. Within 24hrs price dropped on flight. I emailed customer service timely and they declined me to credit me the difference. This airline is a scam and takes you for all you are worth. If given the option please choose a different airline they dont honor there own policies. I now plan to pursue charges with my credit card company. Again, avoid this ailrine at all costs if you can. Note, my actual trip is in December but wanted to get this review out soon as I could. I am working on options to get full refund and to book a different airline. Sadly, this is over less than $31USD that this cuthroat airline wont honor there own best price policy.

Anyway, I am astounded by the number of bad reviews and note everyone one, regardless of their complaint, receive the same ‘standard ‘ response ?
Does anyone know if they fly out of U.K , is it an Italian airline?

We were meant to have a flight at 11am from Mykonos to Athens and the staff at the airport let us know that there was a delay. So we waited paitently for an update as to when we would be boarding. The airport staff were not informed by Volotea as to why the flight was delayed or when it would take off. We contacted voloteas customer service who were not at all helpful. Again no information given and one particular support agent was cheeky enough to tell us to "enjoy the fresh air" when we asked how long it would take. All people getting in touch with the customer support were getting ignored when trying to get in touch and they even switched off the chat services at a point. After 4 hours of waiting we finally got a message letting us know that our flight would leave at 7.30pm. I understand that flights get delayed but the way that the staff handled the situation was unacceptable ! Abysmal service !

We had a horrible experience with Volotea. My family had been traveling through Europe and never had a flight cancelled except when we used Volotea. They didn’t even let us know until it was close to boarding time through text. The trip turned into a nightmare when we had to find a flight as soon as possible. They didn’t even apologized and lied to us when they have us cards to use for food at the airport, but never loaded them and they kept saying that we had to wait 10 minutes, 5 days after, they never loaded them/ activated them. We had to buy last minute super expensive tickets to be able to continue with our travels. They treated us horribly and we felt they did not care at all. We received horrible customer with no sympathy nor polite treatment from the agents at the airport. You are better off flying Vueling or Aegean. I do not recommend flying Volotea unless you want to spoil your trip!

When buying my flight the reservation was immediately made, but when I wanted to add my baggage of 20 kg the official website of volotea said that it had an error. So I couldn’t make it online, now in my flight I had to pay €80 for my baggage and my check in when the page had a mistake and I tried several times days before my flight. Couldn’t be more angry and disappointed with an airline.

Flight was delayed without any indication as to what time it would fly out again and what the issue was. 4 hours into the delay we were informed that the plane had technical issues and we would not board for another 4 hours. I contacted customer care however I was told to "enjoy the cool air of Mykonos" and the customer care agents on the app constantly ended the conversation. It's disgrace that the passengers were not immediately informed about the technical issues. What's even more disgusting were the customer care representatives who not only didn't provide any help but made fun of the fact that the plane was delayed.

Not a reliable service. Incompetent staff. Lost luggage on the 15 of July. A huge waist of our time to travel to the airports in santorini and mykonos to locate it. Was informed it would be arriving 20 July in mykonos and waited around for it. Again no luggage! Had to buy new stuff to wear and essentials. Not worth the risk of spoiling your vacation.

No use of purchasing Volotea Priority for Venice MP airport since you board from bus where you get to exit with everyone at the same time and board last. That should be notified up front to save money.

Booked Volotea for 70 min. flight from Bari, Italy, to Dubrovnik, Croatia last week: Will NEVER fly Volotea again. Flight was diverted back to Bari as pilot made his final landing approach at Dubrovnik due to high winds (no problem at all with that pilot call) but once we got back to Bari, the wheels literally came off our experience as we and over 100 other passengers became the victims of V's totally incompetent, rude and disrespectful ground agents in Bari. V's ground team acted like they had never experienced a cancelled evening flight before. They told a couple of passengers what was happening, but most of us were literally in the dark for over 3 hours in an empty (closed) Bari airport waiting to learn if or where we would be spending the night. Then when buses finally arrived to take us to various area hotels, the unpreparedness, chaos, mismanagement and rudeness of V's staff was overwhelming. Imagine the scene on the rooftop of the US Embassy in Saigon the last day of the Vietnam war -- this was worse (the only thing missing was incoming fire). It is hard to believe that an airline's ground staff would have no idea how to handle a cancelled flight, arrange hotels for passengers situation. It should be part of their training and job. Where is Volotea senior management? What is their view of the simple concept of customer focus? Volotea -- never again!

Our flight with Volotea compared much more favourably than our Ryanair flight. Volotea were well organised with the boarding process although interim queue in a large hot shed before boarding the bus was a little uncomfortable. Fans and cold water would be a welcome kind gesture. We sat in Row 28 which was right on the engine. It was pretty noisy and completely blocked any view out the window. Don’t pick this rOw! The flight crew were helpful and efficient and the pilot obviously skilled - it was a great landing!

Lost my luggage on trip from Venice to Santorini. They found it but couldn’t send it back to me which I dont understand why since they have all my information. Its been a year and up to know didnt get any refunds. So hard to communicate with their office thru email coz it takes so long for them to reply. So dissatisfied and disappointed on how they handled this and will definitely stay away from this airline.

I booked a flight returning from Santorini to Bristol for the 15th of June (Santorini-Naples-Bristol, stopover of ~3h in Naples). The first segment (Santorini – Naples) was cancelled and changed to the 14th of June which would have resulted in more than a 24 hours difference from the previous segment.
Given this unfortunate situation, I asked for a flight refund on the 3rd of May. Volotea replied on the 14th of May confirming I was entitled to this refund. I gave my credit card details so they could proceed (Volotea stated I will be receiving my refund within 5 working days period)... Everything seem to be running smoothly.
Unfortunately, the 5 working days went by and no refund was received... I started asking about the refund status and since then, I always receive the same STANDARD message stating the following: “in reference to your request regarding the wire transfer related for your reservation, we are pleased to inform you that we have already assigned your case to our Accounting Officer with the highest priority, in order to proceed with your refund as soon as possible.”.......2 MONTHS passed and no refund was received. They don’t seem to want to proceed with this even thought I have multiple emails stating the opposite!!! This was my first and last attempt to fly with Volotae...

Communication with customer support is a disaster! After lost of the baggage there is almost zero communication from their side. The first reply to the complaint came after one month. Since the baggage was not found I requested them to fallow Montreal Convention; the next reply came again after a month. The content of the reply doesn't seem to correspond with the request! I have doubts to get the compensation from this company without the layer.
