Worst vacation ever, and it is only the first day! Nothing about the vacation pacakge is as advertised or expected. In brief, so far, we had no seat assignments for our family of three and had to pay additional funds to purchase three seats together. Called Virgin before the trip to request help with getting seat assignments, but they could not help and blamed the airlines. I called the airline (American) and they explained that since I booked through a 3rd party, they could help, but there will be a charge of $50 per passenger plus an up charge of $70 per seat. Just landed in Shannon, Ireland at 8:20 AM, very excited to get going on our once in a life-time vacation and guess what, another Virgin special! Our car rental was booked by Virgin for an 11:00 AM pick-up. Who books car rentals by the hour?! So, here we are enjoying the first half day of our vacation in the Shannon Airport. What was advertised and billed as a 7 day vacation has tuned out to be 2 days traveling, one day spent at the airport, for a net of 4 days, and we are only starting! More to follow...

We have gone on two independent trips and loved both. The arrangements were done in an organized and professional manner and the hotels were excellent. We will definitely travel with Virgin vacations again.

We traveled to Ireland before Christmas using Virgin Vacations. Unfortunately, while in Ireland, my husband and I both came down with the flu and upper respiratory infections. We were very ill and the doctor we saw in Dublin, advised us to postpone our flights. I attempted to call my agent,Lakiya, at Virgin to ask for her advice on the best way to facilitate this rescheduling. Her outgoing message said that she was in the office that day and would return my call that day She never called me back. I called the airline directly and spoke to several different people who told me that there was nothing they could do because Virgin had booked the flights. I called the general Virgin Vacation number and a woman named, Jean answered. She asked if she could call me back tomorrow and I told her that wouldn't work since our flights were scheduled for early the next morning and we needed to reschedule them. Without a word, she abruptly hung up on me. With no other options, I cancelled our flights and booked new ones for a few days in the future. This ended up costing me more than our entire vacation had cost. I can't help but believe that if someone at Virgin had cared to help me, this could have been done in a much simpler and much less expensive manner.
I should have believed all of the reviews that say, once Virgin has your money, they're done with you. In fact, a few weeks before we left home, and after I had paid for our trip in full, I called my agent at Virgin with a question. She said that she would call me back in 10 minutes, She never called back.
My advice is USE GATE 1! This is the company that Virgin uses anyway. That way you can avoid the disrespect, rudeness and complete absence
of customer service you"ll be subjected to from Virgin Vacations. Virgin turned a situation, which a professional could have easily handled, into a nightmare.

Amazing price for our 10 day trip to Ireland. Easy to book and not one issue with our travel. Hotels all exceeded my expectations. Customer service called to verify changes I had made and were great to deal with. Especially great if you can be flexible with your trip plans to get the best price- but also great to deal with if you have specific requests. Will definitely book our next trip through Virgin Vacations!

We just came back from a 7 day trip to Buenos Aires that we booked through Virgin. I must say, this was a great little trip. Everything went flawlessly. No surprises, no problems of any kind. We had a wonderful time. If there was one moment of stress it was that we only had an hour to make our connecting flight in Atlanta. Our incoming flight was running late so when we deplaned at Hartsfield we had to sprint across four concourses. We made our flight to Buenos Aires in the 'final boarding' stage.
We would definitely consider a Virgin package for our next trip. We're thinking about going to Costa Rica next.
One final note: Virgin Vacations is not in any way connected to Virgin Airlines. Just thought you should know.

Always friendly and easy to work with. When I had to cancel and reschedule a last minute trip, they made sure Everything was taken care of. They make vacation planning less stressful so you can spend more time enjoying your trip.

I do not think that there is a better price vs value relationship in the world of tours and vacation than virgin vacations

We always appreciate the choices and options Virgin gives in it's travel suggestions.
Have used them multiple times for travel to places I did not know, and never disappointed.
When needed the staff who take calls are always very accomodating and help as much as they can.
I recommend them all the time.

Great customer service whenever I had to call with a question. Only con for me was the inability to make changes to hotels or train bookings without incurring a change fee.

I haven't even gone on my trip yet and I am already having problems. I booked a dream vacation to take my mom on a 9 day essential Italy trip. I built the trip and added two excursions on my trip, air, travel insurance, all of it. I paid my half deposit up front and thought everything was good to go. Get on my account and don't see the two excusursions. So I call and was told they somehow didn't get added. Ok let's get them added, oh and by the way ma'am that bumps you up to another insurance bracket so I need another $30 per person right now to cover the uptick. Really???? Thanks for the great customer service Virgin!!! Not. I do not leave for 6 months and already the problems have started. ☹️

I haven't taken my trip yet and I am already dis-satisfied with the customer service. I mis-spelled my daughter's middle name and I tried several times to change her name on line by following the procedures listed, before the trip was paid for. Her name still wasn't changed after several attempts so I called customer service. They wanted to charge me $50 because the airline tickets were already issued. How can this be when I hadn't even paid for it yet? Finally, I am told the tickets "were just in the que and not issued yet" so that I can re-book the flights under market price and then pay the difference. This came to $5.00 which is better than $50. After an hour on the phone trying to change the tickets I am told that this can't be done because United Airlines is false advertising their available flights. So, I am back to $50 to change the name. Finally, I break down and say I will pay them the following week to change the name and I want to make certain it will only be $50. Uhhh... no. Now, if I wait too long the fee will go up. That's twice I have caught the customer service rep in a lie. We come to an agreement that VV will place a hold on the travel documents until next Thursday when I can pay them the $50 and there will be no additional charges. I check my e-mail this morning and what do I have? An e-mail stating my travel documents are ready and of course, the name is mis-spelled. That's going to be a fun phone call and you know they are going to try and charge me more than the $50. Update 2/20/18 - I called United Airlines after the fiasco with VV and United Airlines created an inter office type memo that would follow all my flights indicating the incorrect middle name. I trusted UA to do this more than VV. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It was that complaint I think that led them to correct the spelling of my daughter's middle name with no cost to myself. I know the BBB sent them a copy of my complaint and VV has responded. The travel documents are now correct. I only wish Virgin Vacations had taken the initiative to correct the mistake before it got to the point where I am dis-satisfied with their service and hesitant to travel with them. If they respond so negatively to something so easy to correct as a middle name (before the travel documents were issued) then I can imagine how they will respond when there is a true emergency.

Dear Virgin Vacations Customer Service:
Based on our recent experience (with Res # 1287416 (GB-ICS), I have a very negative impression of Virgin Vacations. And I intend to share our bad experience with others both in person in conversation and, as a travel writer, in print stories.
The Virgin representative booked us into Central Park Hotel two days after our arrival in London. Did she expect us to sleep in Hyde Park those two nights?
Fortunately, we discovered this error before leaving. I contacted Virgin. No help. I could pay a price that was way too high, in my judgment, for Central Park Hotel or I could go elsewhere. I ended up paying the ridiculously high price for the two nights that should have been booked in the first place.
When we got to the Central Park Hotel, I was even more irritated. We had two different rooms, both of which do not reflect a three-star property. For example, our first room was on a mezzanine floor, not accessible by elevator, contrary to the hotel's advertising. Also, when you opened the closet door, it hit the bed. This made the closet virtually inaccessible without some gymnastics. Third, when you opened the door to the room, you were assailed with a chemical stench that was almost overwhelming. Fourth, the lighting in the bathroom was terrible. You couldn't comb your hair, shave or anything that required the least precision.
The second room lacked working HVAC. We had to get a fan and open the window in order to have anything like a comfortable experience. Of course, opening the window subjected us to all the sounds of the street below.
Is it unreasonable to expect a three-star hotel to have elevator access to all floors on which it has rooms? I don't think so.
Is it unreasonable to expect a three-star hotel to have working HVAC in every room? I don't think so.
To further add insult to injury, we were told by Reception that to change rooms (and escape the stench), we would have to check out by noon and then check in again no sooner than 3 p.m. That meant putting our luggage in the supposedly secure storeroom. But what actually happened was that it sat out in the unsecured and heavily trafficked hall. (The breakfast room was right down the hall.)
So, because of Virgin, I had to wildly overpay for two nights at the lousy Central Park Hotel.
And because Virgin obviously doesn't vet its hotel choices adequately, we were subjected to an abysmal experience.
So, what will Virgin do to satisfy a highly annoyed travel writer customer?
I await your reply.

16 day trip to Italy was fantastic. Tour Manager, Fabio Rapisardi, was very knowledgeable on all the cities and sights visited, and managed our tour group (logistics, timing, personalities, etc.) very well which speaks to his 25+ years in the tourist industry. It was a very active tour, but Fabio says other tour groups try to do everything we did in 10-12days versus our 14 full days. The only complaint we had was at some sites we did not receive the pamphlets given out with the tickets bought for us. All expert tour guides were fantastic but you can't remember everything they say and if we had pamplets we could remember more.

They canceled my expensive trip around Christmas, and tried to reschedule a trip during a cheaper time, for the same price, they would have pocketed an extra $1000, if I hadn't noticed. That is terrible business.

I have a up coming trip to Rome booked through Virgin Vacations. I choose to upgrade my hotel at an additional fee, with further research I decided I would like to switch hotels, this hotel was going to cost $140 less per person, I called the 800 number to speak to a rep I was told it would be no problem to switch and the difference would be credited back to my credit card. I decided to wait to speak to the rest of my party before committing to this switch. When I called back the next day 2nd rep that I got said I would not get a refund, that it would not be for sure that I could actually switch hotels this guy was singing a completely different tune which made me very nervous, how could I possibly be getting such an opposite answer in a 24 hour window???? I asked to speak to a supervisor feeling confident that at the very least an
apology for the 2 agents that gave me 2 completely different answers and a solution to switching hotels and receiving the refund I was already told I would get. Instead the supervisor got on the phone and was extremely rude and basically said, "it is what it is, you should of read the fine print". He did say I could switch hotels with a $50 per person fee, I'm not sure why there would be a fee my trip is still 4 months away from happening and why one rep would say there are no fees and the next would decide there would be fees?????? I was so upset with this supervisors attitude I just had to hang up!!!! This company's only concern is getting your money and once they have it your basically screwed!!!!!! READ the fine print.
