Very unprofessional and a money grabbing company who are not very respectful of customers. Lost mine, my family and friends business. If you want to be treated ethically or with any respect just stay away.

I would give the Village Hotel, Warrington zero stars but this system will not allow it.
I have been staying here every Monday (holidays excepted) since April. I must add this is through necessity, not choice. Bed, breakfast, meal allowance is pre-paid/authorised by my company. Simple do you think? Absolutely not! Every time I check in there is a delay as the system has not been set up properly so I have to show the desk all the email correspondence to justify, even the confirmation received back from Village Hotels admin. Despite that I still get awoken at stupid O’clock in the morning by someone pushing invoices under my door. When I challenge these at the desk I have to go through the same bullsh*t on check out as I did on check-in.
The last straw was this morning when I checked my credit card statement only to see they had taken an unauthorised payment. I had a pre-auth for £1 only to confirm my identity. This goes beyond the serial incompetence described above and constitutes theft.
Avoid this establishment!

Due to the death of my young son , suffering ptsd, severe depression and anxiety I wished to cancel gym that I haven’t been able ever use over £800 and also get a refund from unused personal gym instructor sessions ( £200) phone call after phone call and I had a meeting there I even took in his death certificate but still not enough to get a refund! and now have a debt company constantly phoning me ! I couldn’t afford and struggled to pay for my sons funeral I had to borrow etc not getting a wage with stress ptsd depression anxiety etc do they think 20 odd calls a week to get money they want off me for an unused membership! we are still struggling to get on our feet but a multi million pound company obviously needs my money more than me !!! So even losing my child is not enough reason!! Then what the hell is
What do I have to do to get over £1000 refunded Absolutely disgusting I still want a refund and not have to pull teeth out to do it !

Booked 3 rooms (2 for 2 night and 1 for 3 nights) at The Village Blackpool, showers were scaling hot, no cold water in shower or wash hand basin - cold tap coming through roasting so had to brush teeth in hot water, reception staff look at you like dirt including the front office manager, extremely disappointing.

This despicable company are trying to charge me a £40 cancellation fee after being diagnosed with many different RSI's and my account being put on a ''medical freeze'' for a year as a result of those injuries. I literally cannot use the gym anymore and they're punishing me further with a fine for cancelling due to this disability.
The Village = An ethically bereft organisation.

Doesn't even deserve one star. My daughter joined on her 18th birthday, turns out she had the wrong membership. They changed it, no new notification of terms and conditions. She cancelled and they are now threatening her with debt collectors if she doesn't pay 90 day cancellation as per terms and conditions which she has stated she was never given. Never have I come across a shocking service and bullying tactics like this. I'm advising her to not make this payment and we'll see you in court if we have to. Avoid village gyms at all costs. David Lloyd are far more professional

Initially this was a great place . In fact we were the first people to give the hotel a 5 star rating on trip advisor .
Regrettably, we can no longer support the hotel .
The reason for this is as follows
We have paid for the gym membership to date , whilst I have not used the excellent gym facilities much ( my doing ) I was happy to pay for the other benefits the club has to offer
Myself and several colleagues have visited the club to watch the rugby 2019 for the last 6 weeks . We have in increasing numbers had breakfast and enjoyed the rugby as it advertised in the hotel
Today we had a party of 16 people for breakfast and of course the venue was vibrant and busy .
At a guess there must have been 150 people plus there to watch the rugby , as was advertised and promoted .
Our shock came when the food and beverage manager decided he would not put any volume on ie no sound .
When challenged by numerous people he still refused .
I have Video evidence of such .
When I questioned him and asked for the volume to be increased so anybody could hear . His response was
-this is as loud as it goes
My response - last week for the previous game it was fine and a good volume
His next response was weve had complaints from guests
I had to remind him that the gym is above so would not be an issue
I asked to speak to a manager , he said I’m the manager and that’s it .
I asked if there was anybody senior and he said no the hotel manager is in South Africa on holiday .
Please also note that at least 10/15 other people questioned him and the poor girl on reception ( who was a complete star )
I understand you cannot change events, and I need to state the bar staff/ reception have been a credit to your company also the individual ( Darren I think ? ) was very industrious in his duties .
I don’t think your main man / Bristol manager has read your marketing material ( see below )
I don’t need to outline the amount accumulated over a year with gym memberships, food , numerous hotel stays ( I’m writing this from room 230 in the Bristol village tonight ) bar spend ,( today was over £250 plus breakfast with our party alone ) .
But , the only way my complaint (and I’m sure there will be others ) will be taken note of is if it has financial consequences . We left DLL , to join when it opened hoping we would receive an acceptable level of service

I travel a lot for work, so staying at hotels is a regular thing for me. So this review is written from the perspective of a working stay, rather than a leisure stay.
I have stayed at different village hotels on quite a number of occasions now, and there is a lot that they get right. Then again, there are some things they could really improve on.
- good atmosphere, and good places to watch a sports game if you are staying with work colleagues. This is rare for hotels.
-quality gym. You do have to pay extra for it. But it is very good.
-good breakfast. Nothing amazing but above average.
Rooms are quirky. Very different to many other hotels. Shame it's so dark.I will get to that later....
Work area downstairs:. Nice touch. I confess I have not really explored this. I like the privacy of my room to work in.
-table booking system for dinner. There is no table service at the village, with it being more of a bar/grill. This is a real pain if you are traveling alone for work. Sure you can book a table online, and the staff might actually get the reservation (several times this has failed for me), but even when you get a table reserved, because you have to order a the bar there is no certainty someone won't have stolen your table while ordering. Staff were also indifferent to this, which was quite upsetting.
- rooms are very dark. Feels like they really went cheap on the light bulbs. If you are trying to work out of a hotel room ahead of a meeting etc. Good luck. It feels like a bit of a cave. This seems to be done by design, to give the rooms 'atmosphere'. But it makes the rooms hard to work in.
The village does offer a generous work area in their hotel. And this may work for many people. But as mentioned earlier, I like the privacy of my room to work in.
Overall, the village is not bad, and perhaps 3 stars is a bit harsh, but I can't quite give 4 stars because of the bar/grill situation, and how unfriendly it is to the solitary person traveling for business (food is important when you have to stay away from family)

I didn’t know what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised check in was speedy, the staff where pleasant and the rooms clean, spacious, High Tech and the breakfast was pretty good also, the price was amazing for what you get you would expect to pay at least double this in most other hotels for what was offered. I highly recommend and hope my next experience is just as positive.
One let down is the treatment in the first review from the Lady who lost her son, come on Village it’s not like you can’t afford it and how would you feel if it was your child, do the decent thing and refund her.

Village Bromborough gave me eleven days notice that they were going to refurbish the swimming pool (this would take more than two months). I cancelled my membership as the pool is the only facility I use. I've now got to pay the full amount for 30 days membership. Why should I give them 30 days notice when they gave me 11? Needless to say, I will not be renewing.
If I bought a ticket to watch a film but it stopped after half an hour, I wouldn't be best pleased! How is this any different?

I am absolutely disgusted with the village hotel in Watford. I have stayed there on a few occasions and I began to trust them as a good company and hotel but my recent experience has angered me so much that I would never stay there again & would even go as far to say they are nothing but thieves as a company.
I will also be posting this review for the company that looks after the villages' cancellations insurance who are also a disgrace (bookingprotect.com).
I booked a room for November this year, so it was well in advance and due to this I also added the cancellation insurance. I then found out I would be relocating because of my work and needed to cancel.
The hotel did not help in anyway and claimed that I had to go through the insurance I booked with bookingprotect.com. Then when I rang them... guess what? The small print, the terms and conditions, what ever you wish to refer to, led them to concluding that they would not help me as my relocation is only for 3 months and not permanent.
This is an absolute outrage and as I stated before is nothing but pure theft.
This was the reply from bookingprotect.com;
Thanks for your refund application.
For refund request relating to relocation, we can only offer refunds where your circumstance meets the below (as taken from our Terms and Conditions);
What will we refund?
- you being relocated permanently for work by your employer at the time of booking more than 100 miles from the booked event which you were unaware of at the time of booking or you are unexpectedly made compulsory redundant.
As you can see from the above, we can only offer refunds where you are relocated permanently by your current employer (Permanent - lasting or intended to last or remain unchanged indefinitely).
I can see from your uploaded letter that the duration of your relocation is for 3 months. Regrettably, we are unable to offer you a refund on your tickets due to this.
Your relocation would have to be permanent for this to be covered by Booking Protect.
I'm really sorry that we're unable to offer you a refund in this circumstance.
So summing up... Village Hotels & bookingprotect.com you should be ashamed of yourselves for your disgraceful customer service. I WILL NEVER RETURN OR USE YOUR UNFRIENDLY SERVICES AGAIN.

1. One towel between two people
2. Two phone calls later and made to wait an hour for more towels
3. Foul smell from bathroom plugs
4. Broken lamp in room
5. Broken temperature gauge on shower - scolded myself so reported immediately.
6. Assured shower was fixed but scolded myself for the SECOND time the following day.
7. Raised a complaint about all of the above upon check-out and was told I would receive a call. I did not.
8. Raised a complaint on Resolver and made to wait a week for a reply.
9. Hotel Manager promised to ring me but didn't.
10. Made to wait 3 more days for phone call off hotel Manager.
11. Still waiting for a reply on Resolver regarding the escalation of my complaint.
This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I will not be using Village Hotels again.

I joined on a ROLLING Gym membership this year meaning i shouldn't be tied into any contracts and entitled to leave when i want. WRONG - I have cancelled my direct debit and spoken with the club i attend to advise this however still been receiving texts and today one saying they will pass to a debt collector (For all of £49 i may add!) ....
I then called the number who advised that I should of called someone completely different to cancel (because clearly the club i use isn't good enough?) and i also needed to give 30 days notice. She then also said that my membership can't be cancelled until I pay this month and then another month on top for the months notice period....
Apparently this was in the terms & conditions link that they sent on an email when you join (again at the bottom of the email) - This however wasn't mentioned by any member of the gym who should state terms and conditions...
Absolute shambles of a business - No point what so ever in a 'rolling' contract as they charge you and expect you to pay anyway
AVOID THE GYM AT ALL COSTS!!! ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A COMPANY!!

New check in took 15 minutes
No food being served - recommended to get a deliveroo or just eat to eat it in your room.
Please... after 5 hours travel, not the kind of experience you expect.

My husband and I have been members at the village hotel north leeds gym since jan 2019. We have been going to the gym for many years and we’ve never known anything like it. It is dirty, the female changing rooms are filthy, the toilets smell like urinals, the showers smell of mould and mildew. There’s hair everywhere, towels left on the floor. The other day, someone decided to have a poo all over the toilet. I walked in and was almost sick. Whoever is responsible for cleaning is not doing their job, I’ve seen a few young girls come in a clean the mirrors... really! The mirrors need cleaning???!!! Look around you! The instructors that work there who take the classes come in late, no apology and then finish well before the class is due to end. The membership is not cheap but having visited budget gyms they are far cleaner and better maintained than this one. So if you are thinking of joining this gym.. don’t, spend your money somewhere else. We are counting down the days to December when we can finally leave.

I’ve been to the village hotel in Farnborough quite a few times now for food, hotel stays, and spa days. The staff are always very helpful and very high level of customer service. The facilities are always clean and tidy. My friend also got married here and the wedding was lovely.
Will be continuing to come

Dont waste your momey ... dont upgrade you dont get what you pay for then you are told you will be compensated for this and mangaer ignores you. This is nothing more than false advertisement you do not get what you pay for and the most annoying part was their description ... 'right in the heart of the harbour city' IN REALITY 35 MIN CAR DRIVE FROM CITY CENTER should be investigated for fasle advertisement and managers should be more effecient addressing their complaints.

Temperature inside the gym is like in freezer 16-18 with cold air blowing on full speed. Cancelling my membership with this reason they still made me pay for next month as cancellation period.
More likely you can get cold than fit.
