Very slow.... it was acceptable for a while, but they installed a new software update, and now it really sucks!
Put yourself together, or I will cancel my subscription. I really enjoyed watching movies in your site, but Netflix is much better.

I love Viki, I use it on the daily on my phone, smart tv, iPad etc. but there are a View things I dislike.
1. New update has you scrolling from the top every time you click on a show and go back. Before you can scroll for a show and when you hit back, it’ll go back to the same spot you left on. Annoying
2. It doesn’t allow multiple log ins. If I log in on my phone; it’ll log me out of my tv, etc.
3. It doesn’t save my last episode from the show I’m watching. This is the most annoying update because if I watch on my phone then go home to watch from my tv, I have to search my episode and go to the time I left off on.
4. When fast forwarding, there should be a display of what scene your fast forwarding to. Similar to Netflix.
5. My tv doesn’t show the folder I created on my phone. I have all my saved shows on my phone but on my tv, there’s nothing. Also updating on the tv is almost non existent.
Those are my cons with Viki. I wish they would bring back drama fever or Asian crush had more to choose from but Viki should take these reviews to heart.

Viki is beyond terrible. Seriously. I signed up for a free trial, then paid for the basic, everything was fine. Then I began noticing many shows aren't available for Canada anyway. And as if that wasn't bad enough, I was watching "Touch Your Heart" for 8 episodes. It was fine some days ago, and now it tells me I need an upgraded Viki Pass to continue watching. What kind of awful business practice is this? If you want to have premium dramas, fine, but to let a person watch a drama and then tell him/her s/he can't continue without upgrading is VILE. This is beyond dishonest. Well guess what, Viki? Not only will I not upgrade, you're not getting another dollar from me, ever! VIKI IS CANCELLED!

Has anyone notice that as of September 2019 Viki has cut it's variety of shows in half? And that nothing is listed under Chinese, Taiwanese, or Japanese no shows at all.
They have cut there shows in half but expect there paying customers to continue to pay for a limited program of shows

I really used Viki because of the "learn mode" more than anything - and as a result was a huge fan. But for quite a while now the Korean has been seriously out of sync - and we're not talking about a few days. It's EXTREMELY easy to watch almost any korean drama on the internet, including those over 10 years old, and as a result of the out of sync learn mode I'm now drifting away. A shame, as I regarded it as quite innovative, but if they're that lax over something I regard as quite important, I can watch subtitled Korean dramas anywhere.

I had no idea that Rakuten Viki was a training program as stated by one of your misguided fan AN in September of this year. Rakuten Viki is a site where you may volunteer and they will teach you how to subtitle or learn a new language.
So you have not made this information aware to your PAYING CUSTOMERS and still! charge an outrageous price. Why is that? And if it's a SBS Super concert the subtitles are done immediately but other shows could take up to a month. I have also found out that a great deal of the shows that we were watching on Dramafever and now are being showed on Viki ALREADY have the subtitles. Case in point Noble My Love. It took Viki nearly three weeks to finish the subtitles oh and by the way there are twenty episode to this show not seven episodes. Wherever they are getting there shows, movies they have already been subtitled. Another example that this information is correct A Little Thing Called First Love is SHOWING on NETFLIX recently aired like Viki and it comes with subtitles and new episodes weekly with subtitles!
So my next question is Viki Rakuten just what scam are you running?

Badd. Real baaaaad. Video streaming keeps stopping. You pay 100 for 1000 shows yet you only get to watch at least 300 and i watch less than 50. 😂
Anyone can recommend a good site? I like that they have autoplay. The cons stops there. 😅

English subtitles are missing! We pay for subscription but we can’t watch because there’s no subtitles! It takes weeks and even months for the subtitles to appear especially for dramas from Taiwan!!! Why do you charge when you can’t provide subtitles to viewers?

I stream using Roku. English subs have disappeared on most shows.
Viki, you need to do a lot of work to refine your product for English speaking customers. Perhaps this applies to other languages too. A good way to go out of business!

Once again when I thought it could get no worse it does. One thing Viki Rakuten can remind it's paying customers. We will have technical issues on a regular basis and not tell you. Oh and we will add new shows let them say 100% English subtitles but then we won't and if your lucky may be 6% English. For example the show Nobel My Love. It's been on Viki for nearly a month episode 1,2,3 have subtitles and then no more. They just finished completeing subtitles after a month for Return the World to you. WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR as customers?
I would sale my first born to get Dramafever back(just kidding honey would not sale you).

The streaming service was fine, works like it should, but don’t bother trying to get in contact with customer service. The customer service is SHOCKING if you manage to get a reply. I submitted a request 3 weeks ago and I have not received a reply, despite submitting a second request as well. All they send is a auto-generated email. I probably won’t even to get my $70 refund at this point.

i love viki and use it as my primary streaming channel for asian dramas. i don't understand all the bad reviews. i guess most people only comment, when they have something bad to say. viki is meant as a language learning portal, so you can chose learning mode and get subtitles in both english and the language of the drama. with the learning mode, you can pause the drama and click on the words subtitled and see the romanization of the word, how to pronounce it and sometimes also click and hear a voice pronouncing it. though it's a little too bad that it's not every drama that has the learning mode option. i really like the series they have on there. and i a overall really pleased with the site.

Disappointing! Subtitles takes days! Why even bother asking members to pay when so behind with subtitles! Such a scam.

Yes subbing is slow because Viki ia not just an Asian drama site, it's also a language learning tool where volunteers can practice their subbing/translating skills -- a form or crowd-sourcing translations. It helps offset cost of shows as Viki is not paying for the translations and can get more shows instead. I have also found the quality of translations is good and better than some sites.
After reviewing all the pass levels I knew i wanted access to all their dramas and not face any locked ones so i pay the premium with Kocowa access (note: some shows still dont show on Viki that are on Kocowa which sucks but i dont find its worth it to get a kocowa sub as Viki still offers more.) So i did not feel the pain of having to uograde but can definitely understand that frustration. Its just a different subscription type then Netflix where you upgrade because you want full quality HD or more users viewing on your account -- Vikis subcriptios are based on what content you can access.
The flaws I see with Viki are:
1) No download capability to watch offline -- which i love with Netflix and (RIP) Dramafever.
2) Subs do take a longer time
3) Wish they posted when shows expire for each region. Was watching a show and then i got a warning that it was unavailable the next day. Posting when licenses expire is an easy way of letting subscribers know what to watch first.
Im okay with their plans and overall happy with their service as I've been a subscriber over a year now. I watch more on Viki than i do on Netflix and have recommended it to others who have ended up subscribing.
As an aside -- I would rather watch shows on Viki then on free sites since some of them are not trust worthy and im always afraid of getting a virus.

I was watching Viki for years now and They have gotten terrible. It’s time to have drama fever come back or another company to stream dramas. They want 99.00 for a year when most of the dramas are restricted to show in your region. Some of the shows that they don’t have is on Tubi app. They have become ridiculous. Won’t be renewing my subscription.

Where to even begin. How this company managed to stay in business is beyond human comprehension. Your streaming is next to worst. New movies or shows are a hit and miss. You will get a new show maybe twice a month. Subtitles issue they will not address or for that matter any issues. The sad part is we as customer's no matter how much you complain and from the reviews I would say a great deal. They refuse to change or comply. There must be a large family somewhere overseas that keeps this company running. You know what your doing Viki Rakuten and you have no honor. This will come back on you what goes around comes around even in businesses. Netflix will be having issues once Disney and AT&T start streaming but should they be able to acquire more international films and at a steady pace I would be very concerned if I was you.

I written twice to try to understand why Viki is so behind in the drama when others Korean station have new drama all the time, for instance Ondemand, Dramacool and Kseries all have new drama I have the Viki plus and getting the same service as regular.

I paid for a viki plus pass for both my accounts and I still see ads on both my accounts... money wasted!!! And i keep getting logged out of my accounts so frequently is getting on my nerves... like what’s the point in spending money on something you are promised but never get to see a video without an ad... just bs

Viki is crap. This is the second time I was into a show and then it was pulled. Both were older shows. Thankfully I found them on other more consistent apps. Viki. - frustrating, inconsistent, cares nothing about consumers.

Viki is a bait and switch subscription. Paid for standard to find out most of the shows requires a pro pass. In fact a lot of the older shows that I watched from Dramafever like "She was Pretty" is locked from viewing on Standard. Shows like "Perfume" only allows you to view two episodes before it locks you and prompts you to upgrade. In fact everything about Viki is about upgrading to the pro pass. Seriously 30% off for 1 year for standard means absolutely nothing as you will soon find out that you will need to upgrade if you want to watch any shows. This is not a DramaFever replacement. Do not fall for it. For the first time in my life I really despise the underhandedness of a company that divides their subscription into 3 tiers Basic, Standard and Pro and all of them prompts you to upgrade. This is like selling you a subscription to a magazine that has missing chapters and to read those missing chapters you have to upgrade. Upgrade... Upgrade... Upgrade.... Bait and switch!! I wasted my $30 for the year.
Look, if Viki had offered only 1 tier like Dramafever for $68 or in the case of Viki $99/year, I wouldn't been upset. Like Dramafever I would have subscribed month to month then decide that $99/year would give me better value. However the basic/standard tiers only makes you feel ripped off because it keeps prompting you to upgrade by locking shows that, in a sense, you paid to watch. Just think if Netflix did that? and although Netflix does offer you different price levels, they don't limit the shows you can watch. Paying more for Netflix just means you get to watch shows in 4k/atmos surround sound. If Netflix did what Viki has done, you can bet there would be an uproar. The problem is those that did subscribed to Viki has probably upgraded with no complaints. It is only the few that sees how Viki is doing a bait and switch and is upset about it. There are a lot of free sites out there and I encourage you to find them and hopefully Viki will just fade away.

Ever since Drama fever went down i try Viki. Stander sub at that time was nice when the new shows are not exclusive to pass plus or at least you can watch them in a month but now most all new shows is exclusive to pass plus and it only available to Stander pass in a year. Not worth you the money because most of the show you can find else where for free and only a few shows are the only one you will watch. Basically you are paying 99$ for only 3 shows you might watch.

I’m extremely disappointed in this service. You pay full price for a service yet they deliver only halfway. Most of the time it takes days before the subtitle is ready. You pay for a premium and they want you to pay a higher premium to access different shows. Now if Viki wants people to buy a higher premium package they need to deliver. Who wants
To pay even more for such pathetic service?
