I visit this fitness center almost a year. I like the staff here. My favorite training is TRX.

I appreciate the cleanliness and fresh smelling aroma of the gym. I'm a clean freak and can't stand smelling feet and arm-pits while working out.

I would very much like to ride the Virtual ride bike at the Guilderland VENT when it opens in the AM. However everyday there is a very opinionated older man on the same bike everyday. He talks very negatively about other members and staff and intentionally bothers me when I try to do a virtual ride. I feel he try’s to bother people so they won’t use the other bike next to him.
PLEASE ‘get another virtual bike and move it away from this person. I do not feel safe around him and have been told by other members that he has made physical threats in the past to people. How this pattern has been allowed to happen is very puzzling. Please look into this and move a bike or remove this individual.

Easy going great place to work out. Even when there are a lot of bodies in the gym, it's easy to get to weights and equipment. I wish this (Latham) branch offered all of the available amenities that some other branches have and also would like to see another water fountain or bottle fill station somewhere on the floor

I definitely recommend Vent and the Guilderland Location to all my friends. I also recommend my trainer Kiersten Racela to them as well. Kiersten and the staff at Vent have always been encouraging and demanding of my performance knowing what my goals are and giving me the knowledge and support I need to achieve them and move beyond my limitations to Reinvent my personal fitness and health!! I joined the gym in the later part of January 2018 to lose some weight and look better in preparation for my son's wedding in May. Thus far( Early April) I have lost 25 pounds am back to being able to run a 5k without hating it and feeling exhausted after I am finished. I can power through a hour long spin class with a heavy load of resistance on the bike, and breeze through a train 30 like it's a light workout.
I do have to comment on the functionality of the technology however. If they are going to really encourage and hype the linked training via heart monitors, they need to make sure that there is enough bandwidth in the house to handle all the monitors on the floor at the same time and that for those not in studios where they will connect to the server directly the app actually works. I'm very disappointed in the performance of this aspect so far but willing to be a bit more patient as they hopefully work out the bugs and get it right. I'm hopeful they will because it's not like the staff I have gotten to know from the greeters at the front desk to the maintenance staff who clean the gym to the personal trainers and instructors to go all out to make customers welcome, challenged, and the best they can be.

From day one, my experience at Vent was nothing but positive all around. Front desk staff, trainers and even members have been so outgoing and friendly. I just tried a small class size, and there was definitely a learning curve. I was not made to feel like an outsider or inconvenience for not knowing the steps. Both aember and a trainer went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I’m so grateful for this chance to reinvent myself.

Most of the time I can use vent fitness as a great get away from my busy schedule, but I hate it when some creepy dude shows up on the scene, especially in locker room.

Terrific facility with no waiting for any machine ever. Clean, pleasant, airy. Affordable basics, but the extras - like training - are WORTH the price. Working with a trainer has allowed me to get SO much more out of my workouts. I was hesitant about joining a gym, now I look forward to going as often as I can.

The switch to the new app was rough. I wasn't able to log in for a month and a half and had to call to sign up for classes. The staff on site didn't know how to fix it and wouldn't take the obvious course of action to remedy the situation quickly—delete me from the system and re-enter all info from scratch. They were very helpful and seemed to be following orders, so it seemed to be a course of action from management. Eventually, we wiped the record and I was able to use the app properly. At the same time, my wife was still using the old app and hesitant to switch because of my problems. She eventually had to because she was going to lose her points in the old app. Although it makes sense to use this as a method to herd people into using the new app, it is strange that points could not be moved from one app to another.

I generally enjoy my membership at Vent. I love the vibe and all the amenities you get with the $30 Level 2. My PT, Ian, is a fantastic trainer. He's supportive, motivating, and truly invested in your general health and wellbeing. My only gripe is the new Vent app. You used to get points to spend on shakes or merch, or even training sessions on the old app. It connected to my Fitbit and tracked workouts in the app, and you could record workouts on cardio equipment at the gym. The new app does not connect to any devices besides the Vent heart monitor that you have to buy and wear every time you workout to track progress and get points. It's the horrible kind that you have to strap across your chest and is terribly uncomfortable when you are doing floor exercises. It's disappointing to be forced to be uncomfortable in order to track your fitness progress. I really hope Vent app developers hear this from more than just one member and consider adding the option to connect other devices, as the old app allowed. If they did that, I'd be 100% happy with Vent.

I am really happy with vent. As a busy mom, they have everything I need to get in and out. The only reason I give them 4 stars instead of 5 is because I wish they allowed their level 1 members to participate in their other services (for higher level members) on an ala carte basis. But otherwise, clean, plenty of machines, well maintained, and great technology choices with their cardio equipment.

Great location. Plenty of parking. Great knowledgeable staff. Some patrons are lazy and don’t wipe their machines down after use and as much as the staff tries to keep up it’s hard. Other than lazy patrons I love this gym!

I love going to VENT fitness. I love knowing that I can work out on clean machines and get a refreshing drink afterwards. And the employees are so welcoming and polite. Thank you so much VENT fitness! Definitely has been helping me reinvent myself:).

Switching to Vent from Planet Fitness was a great choice for me personally as the gym seems more focused on serious fitness-minded individuals. This is motivational if anything. I don’t consider myself a gym rat by any stretch, but working out (primarily weight training) in a gym with a catered selection of machines, benches, dumbells, and free weights, accompanied by serious weight lifters, is a good atmosphere to promote more desire to progress.
I like that all four locations do not have the exact same equipment. It switches up the atmosphere if there is a certain machine at Latham that Clifton Park doesn’t have for the day you do shoulders (just an example). The staff is relatively friendly and the facilities are sufficient.
Some machines, like the cables at Clifton Park, could use some attention (minor repairs, tune ups, etc). The cardio equipment at Latham is a bit outdated. Some of the hammer strength machines have awkward positioning, (i.e. seated military press) but that is likely an individual preference on my part.
Overall, I am more than pleased that I joined Vent.

My only dislike in the 2 weeks I've been a member is that upgrading isn't cost effective. I understand that the $9.99 per month is a contract, but I'm willing to pay the additional $20 a month to go to the next level. I'd even be willing to sign a 3 or 6 month, even a one year contract to join at he level, but they only offer month to month. So , in essence, I;d lose my $99.99 sign up fee and still have to pay the extra $20 a month. Guess I'll be staying at level 1.
