Recently rec’d as a gift along with 2 boxes of containers and some bags. It is missing the vacuum tube and adaptor. Unable to contact them. Very expensive, yet no customer service to help? My sister has this unit and loves it. I wish I could use mine!!!!

After about a month of use, bread placed in the homebase would become moldy after 3 days. Happened to multiple loaves before I gave up and trashed the unit.

I bought the complete package during the crowd funding. I remember it took a long time for the company to finally deliver the product, and then my house was going through remodeling and etc so it took another year for me to finally put it into test.
The design......can't complain anything about it. Just a piece of art. The design, shape, and the choice of colors are very well implemented. The opening/closing is very "star-trek" and always make visiting friends impressed.
I placed 5 very ripe pears I bought from Harry-and-David into the homebase, taking out one-a-day to eat. They all tastes fine and didn't go bad. For that part the machine is doing its job.
The containers work pretty well too. I've used it to marinate some pork chop, and it did the job.
The bags is what I use the most, and also the one that gave me the most trouble in the beginning. I can't seem to find the "sweet spot" so the air can be drawn correctly. Took about a day of learning curve to finally get it right.
If I have to nit-picking about things.....The suction hose's plug. It is not very intuitive and I've misplaced the plug a couple times when I use the hose, and each time it was a pain to find it. I felt the plug could have a string attache to the homebase so itd be just hanging on the side when the hose is in use. Samething for the hose and attachment. Maybe there could be a "pucket/dock" on the side/back for easy replacement.
All-in-all, very impressed with the machine. I have one more test that I haven't completed yet. Im intending to leave a bag of frozen pork in the freezer for a couple month and try to defrost and consume and see how it is. Will report back on the experience.

We love our Vacuvita. Super easy way to store and vacuum seal your foods. We inadvertently had vacuumed a small amount of liquid into our home base. The unit then stopped working properly while trying to vacuum bags and containers. The instructions clearly tell you not to do this and how to avoid it. After corresponding with the Vacuvita customer support about our issues they quickly sent us a new unit. What a pleasant surprise to have the unit replaced even though we were most likely the cause for the malfunction. Thank you Vacuvita!!

It is a convenient/easy experience to use the system. It's so great to be able to preserve fresh food for so much longer! It's excellent and i would recommend to anyone.
There is a slight learning curve to use, but after learning it's common sense, really. herbs such as cliantro and parsely shouldn't be too wet, only slightly, in a covero, and they stay fresh for a long while.
The only slight issue seems to be with the bags. They generally work great. Sometimes a bag won't keep the vacuum, however. Not sure why. It's only sometimes, and then it seems to be that the bag just won't keep the vacuum (after repeated tests). On one, i tried a piece of scotch tape over the hole in the bag (where you put the vacuum connector) and it worked (kept the vacuum for a couple of weeks). I was able to re-use this bag, and it kept the vacuum again (with the same piece of tape on it), so the issue may be the hole.
Also notice, that sometimes when using the bag in the freezer, after frozen, the bag will have a little air in it. I presume this is just freezer side effect, after re-vacuum sealing, most of the time the bag seems to keep the vacuum (unless it's one of those described above).
The occasionally bag issue is so minor, though, compared to how much i've been using the unit, and enjoying fresher food!
Thank you Vacu vita!

I love the Vacuvita! My machine arrived and I put it to use immediately. After 10 days my dinners are all still fresh and I'm still testing the freezer foods but all is as promised.

The design and quality of this product is beyond what I expected and I'm glad I waited since joining the crowd funding back in 2013. the only problems I have experienced thus far have been one of the lids on the large Coveros will not seal. I have switched the lids out between the two containers and checked the silicone seal several times and still cannot get it to seal. The other issue is the hose connection to the adapter. This can become loose and thus not vacuum seal the Coveros. I've learned to double check this connection so it's not a huge issue.

It keeps your foods fresh longer. I can open a bag of chips eat some and just put the bag in the Vacuvita and they taste fresh the next time I want some.

I haven't had my Vacuvita long enough to see if what I put in it stays fresh. It is very easy to operate. It's easy open and easy close. I have placed some packs of opened crackers in and am waiting to see if they stay fresh

Note - I have not used the device yet since it is a Christmas gift for my wife.
I have looked over the product and am impressed with the build quality and design. Unlike other options, this device will look much better on the counter.
Most importantly, only Vacuvita provides a combination air sealed storage that also functions as the base station for sealing containers and bags.
I like the fact that the bags are resuable too and they seem to be fairly priced.

The Vacuvita system arrived finally and I cannot say enough about the quality build, bold modern look, and functionality. So glad to see so much attention to detail. The home base is large for all kinds of bread products, snacks, nuts, etc. and the coverall containers have an excellent silicone seal and really work well for chopped lettuce, veggies, fruits, and all kinds of leftovers. I've put some in the freezer as well. The bags take a bit of time to figure out (getting the placement right) and the suction is not quite as strong as other vacuum sealing machines on the market, but but they work fine.
The only design flaw that I see is that the tube attachment is very rigid and tends to pop out of the vacuum attachment that attaches to the coveralls and the bags which is a bit frustrating, but it is not a deal breaker. Thanks for bringing us Vacuvita!

The Vacuvita is solidly built, simple to use, and attractive. I'm pleased. I waited several years after backing this project, and broke down in the middle, buying a Foodsaver vacuum sealer. The Vacuvita has a much more robust feel. It's definitely the one we're keeping. I hope they'll eventually support some of the attachments we got in the interim or build their own (e.g. Wine sealer).
The containers have a stronger feel too. I am pretty confident they'll still be holding a seal in a decade or two (maybe 6 or 10). They're lovely. My biggest complaint is that they need a larger variety of sizes. Hopefully a future development.
It's also nice that the vacuum unit has a built in container. We use it as our bread box, consolidating to recover a little counter space.
