I made the decision to leave behind a corporate life for self-employment, but the overwhelm around what to do about my health insurance was paralyzing. My girlfriend told me to call Kat and I’m happy I did. Kat got right to the point. She asked me questions to make sure I got the coverage I needed. Period. She helped me get everything set up within hours of calling her, and I can’t tell you what a relief that was. Just having that taken care of and off my shoulders in such a short amount of time was worth it. If you don’t want the hassle and want everything done well and fast, call Kat.

I wanted to take the time to recognize Agent Jordan Shaked. He walked through my health insurance until I completely understood. Unfortunately I was not accepted by his company. But that did not stop Jordan...he went the extra mile to find me an agent who had a good plan. If you are looking for great coverage and someone who cares contact Jordan Shaked...you will fund very few on his level. Thank you Jordan

Where do I start? 2018 I became an entrepreneur. I had to look for insurance for a family of 5. I called Katrina Schlothauer @ US Health Group. I had met her before from when she was one of my clients at my past career. We met and in a few short minutes I truly understood the healthcare industry for the first time. We then went over the various options on the market. The plan I chose,.which was comparable to my previous saved me over $900 a month from what I was previously paying through my old company!
I was blown away! I still wasn't sure because I had never gone on an independent health plan and I don't get sick so I really don't need it. Then Last August I had an accident when an improperly built wheelbarrow broke and gave me a gash down the front of my right leg came the test. I went to the emergency room. No problems at all. I called Katrina up she answered any questions I had and helped me with some reimbursements I didn't know existed. I couldn't be happier. Not only less monthly cost than my supposedly work subsidized plan, but just as easy to use. I have now recommended Katrina for several of my friends, they are all just as happy and now they recommend her to their friends. She is the only person to trust.

Kat Schlothauer has been so helpful and pleasant throughout our entire process! She’s always available via text or call and catering to our questions and sending us updates. The insurance is affordable and covers everything we need as small business owners in SLC, Utah. Normally you never hear from your agent after you sign a policy, but KAT is so thoughtful sending us birthday cards and baby gifts in the regular. If you need private insurance she is your girl. Give her a call (240) 475-6957!

Strongest recommendation for KAREN FIELD, USHealth Advisor!
Karen remains our single greatest medical/dental insurance advisor/representative. Karen has extraordinary knowledge and customer service skills, and is extremely friendly. She has carefully and thoroughly explained the best primary policies, and necessary rider/supplemental policies. She has saved us much more money than my simply (and stupidly) selecting applicable Marketplace
policies. Communication has been 2-way, and regular, to include return calls within 24hrs. GIVE KAREN A CALL ! YOU’LL BE ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THAT YOU DID !!!

They refuse to stop calling even after you tell them wrong phone number or to be removed from list. Nothing but scam artists. Call multiple times a day. Rude horrible people. Don't know how they can live with themselves.

My name is Michael Springer and I am from Utah. I have played sports my whole life and in doing so, I underwent a few surgeries cause of the strain I put on my body; Back, Elbow, and wrist surgery followed by many strains and breaks. Now that I don’t play anymore, I needed good, affordable insurance to maintain my doctor, physical therapy and chiropractic visits. Katrina Schlothauer, an agent for USHealth Group has helped put together an affordable, but great quality insurance. Not only that, but she made everything easy for me. Found a close chiropractor that fit my case and has done a good job making sure I’m fully covered for everything I need. 10/10 would recommend #healthinsurancewizard. Thanks for always looking out!

I would rate my experience with US Health Group as between Average and Great, so good, but 4 stars is great, and 3 stars is average. I would say that it is good, so 3.5 stars.
I currently pay $719 per month for myself (45 years old), my wife (44 years old), my son (7 years old), and my daughter (12 years old). I started with US Health group at 1/1/18, and the premiums were $696 per month for 15 months (the premiums stayed the same for 15 months, as they state when you sign up). The premiums only rose 3.3% after 15 months, which is very reasonable.
We have the premier choice plan with Cigna as the PPO provider (US Health Groups partner). This insurance is not major medical, but I think that it is good for the premium that you pay. If you are a very sick person, then this may not be for you. Our family has our share of medical issues, but our medical problems are about average in total. With the bills, there are total charges, a provider discount, and then there is a benefit amount.
The provided discount has reduced many of these bills a lot. Although the benefit amount is only $110 for many instances (it was $100 for the first 15 months, and has been increased to $110, as they stated when I first signed up), when it is all said and done, many of these bills are quite small, if not $0.
If you are going to have major surgery, then you can always use the step up rider and limit the out of pocket cost to $4,000. I have not had to use this yet, so I have no experience with this.
I think that their prescription coverage is very weak, but I use Single Care and Good RX cards (which you can get for free), and that has been working well.
Also, my wife had to have an MRI, and I asked for the cash price and the cash price was better than the price that I would have had to pay with the premier choice plan that I have. That is OK.
My wife is going to have surgery on her knee in a few weeks and the cash price for the doctor and facility is going to be $9,294, but with the premier choice plan, the price will be $2,742, so the insurance will pay off here.
So, this insurance will probably not be as good as the insurance that you would get with your employer (I was an employee for about 20 years and always had very good insurance), but, if you are self-employed, as I have been for about (2) two years now, this is good insurance for the price that they charge in premiums.
This has been my experience and I wanted to share it with people. This is not for everybody, but this insurance has worked for me thus far, and I do think that it can work for people that do their due diligence.
If anybody from US Health Group could answer my following question, I would appreciate it. My question is this: I was able to get a quote from the facility that is going to do the surgery on my wife's knee and it was $2,742. They then gave me the telephone number to Northside Anesthesia for me to get information on the price. The anesthesia is a separate billing.
Well, Northside Anesthesia gave me a procedure code: 29880, and said that it would take 1.5 hours. They said that they were going to bill $2,490 for this procedure. What I wanted to know was how much it would cost after my insurance kicked in, and they could not tell me.
They are offering a 60% discount for the cash price, which would make the bill $996. I have paid cash before, when it is less than what it would be with insurance (such as my MRI example above).
The thing is, I have never had to guess what the price would be after insurance kicked in before. Northside anesthesia is telling me that if I want the cash price, I have to take that option before my wife has the knee surgery. They are not going to submit the claim to the insurance company, and then let me say, well now I want the cash price.
I am not going to argue about that. I just think that somebody at US Health Group should be able to tell me the following:
How much will the anesthesia bill be from Northside Anesthesia after my premier choice plan kicks in, if the procedure code is 29880, the time = 1.5 hours, and the total charges related to the anesthesia are $2,490.
If somebody from US Health Group could respond and let me know, I would appreciate it. If you do not want to write an answer over the internet, but would leave a telephone number that I could reach to speak with you directly, that would be fine.

I have to give a shout-out to the one and only Katrina Schlothauer.
Leaving behind a career that offered health benefits for the independent contractor life meant finding my own health insurance, and I’m so fortunate I stumbled across Katrina last year. I’ve never experienced customer care at such a high level. In my very first conversation with her, Katrina conversed with me in a way that made me feel seen and heard. It was like talking to a friend I didn’t know I had! Since then, I just text her when I have a question, and she gets back to me in minutes. She’s helped both me and my boyfriend customize plans that match our life and budget, and doesn’t try to up-sell us with any sales talk mumbo-jumbo. Her authenticity sets her apart.
Friends - even if you have benefits from your job! - reach out to her to let her see if there’s a better plan for you. Here is her contact so you can connect.

I have had a great experience so far with USHealth group here in Maryland, easy straight forward coverage plan. As a veteran I had to choose a coverage because the VA was very limited in my coverage plan and I had to drive an hour for simple check ups and anything major I had to drive an hour and a half. USHealth group is under Cigna and I can go anywhere to be seen if needed. Katrina has been insanely helpful along the way, any questions I had I got a response in a very timely manner. If your looking for a health plan I strongly recommend Kat Schlothauer @kat_thehealthwizard.

I have been a client with USHEALTH for many years, and have had great experiences. I tore a tendon in my arm couples years back the surgery ran around 35k and I paid out of pocket $500!! I have medical, dental, vision and life insurance for less than what I would pay for on the Market Place. Are they perfect, no. But none of them are!

My medical bills after breaking my back were outstanding!!! I never understand this insurance language, red tape and numbers so thankfully for my awesome agent, Dave Walcher, everything got covered and taken care of. He sat on the phone with me and explained everything to where it made sense and also sat on the phone with the hospital invoicing person and helped me explain that my claim was still in process and everything would be going through shortly. He genuinely wants to help his clients and get them the best health coverage! Thanks USHealth Group and Dave Walcher!

Having lived in Durham, NC, for the last 40 years, I believed that BCBS was almost a monopoly in this state. I didn't really know I had any other insurance choice.
Years ago when my BCBS premium jumped up from $900 to $1,400, per month, it forced me to try insurance through the Affordable Care Act. (Obamacare) the first year it came out. That program, although much cheaper, had its own difficulties.
After many years and problems later, I thought I needed to revisit Blue Cross Blue Shield policies again. My 2019 BCBS premium was now going to be over $2,300 per month for a healthy family of three. And I could no longer see my long time, local doctors who knew us. I'd have to use doctors in Chapel Hill.
I felt stuck and turned to the internet to search for other insurance companies, not expecting much help.
After I submitted some basic information on an insurance website, Katrina Schlothauer was the first to call.
She got right to business, asking about my current policy, premium costs, what I needed and could afford. I didn't expect much, but I was wrong.
Katrina got back to me the same day. The program and policies Katrina presented were easy to understand, and I could still use my preferred Durham doctors. It also didn't hurt that my monthly premium dropped almost $200.00 from the ACA cost.
Katrina has been endlessly patient and pleasant, as she explained everything, and it was a new experience feeling she really understood and respected our family's needs. Getting a fast response to my many questions, regardless of the time of day, is amazing. And I love having my very own Katrina, who I can call directly, instead of being on hold forever and passed from one, "Let me check with my supervisor," person to another.
After all this time, I'm only now realizing it's all about having your own personal insurance agent, who you can trust.
It's to easy to be taken advantage of by complicated insurance policies. And it's great to find someone like Katrina Schlothauer, who truly is a #healthinsurancewizard. Katrina is my person, and I highly recommend her to you wherever you live, because she's got you covered .

I was referred to Mark Brodinsky when my astronomical health insurance premium (just for me) was going up even more. I was able to save several hundred dollars per month by going through him. Mark has been great to deal with and is absolutely the best with follow-up and follow-through. Call him if you want to get better coverage, pay less out of pocket and have more in yours! In the past, I would often be intimidated whenever I had to deal with health insurance. I would be skeptical whenever an agent promised me cheaper rates and better coverage. It usually led to confusion and a higher rates
However, since I met Katrina my perspective has changed tremendously. She is professional, incredibly informative and very responsive.
She always patiently answers questions with clear concise and simplified explanations. She deserves all the praise and more. I didn't think having a personal health agent would make a difference -- I was wrong. I strongly recommend contacting her. You will certainly be met with a comfortable experience.

Hello I’M Michelle from Illinois. I received and continually reaceive SUPERB service from Katrina Schlothauer of (USHealth Group). I was referred to Katrina and from my initial contact with Katrina - she was very responseive and thorough. She made the process for me to acquire top notch health insurance seemless. The previous insurance I had was very mediocre.
It went so well, I referred two of my immediate family members to Katrina and they are PLEASED with Katrina’s service. Katrina is very accessible and responsive even after the health insurance is acquired. Any question I have about referral(s) for doctors or questions about my prescription plan. She provides the resolution immediately. Many people in the healthcare industry can take note from Katrina on how to interact with clients, because I have not always had great experience(s) in this industry pertaining to the service and acquiring great health care. I will definitely keep referring potential clients to Katrina. To Katrina - my family and I thank you !
