Someone called saying they were from our local business that maintains our copiers for our school district that provides our toner. They asked where they could send our toner for the new school year saying there was no charge. We received a toner from a company we had not heard of and then a bill came for $715.00. When I called the number the man that answered just answered like it was a home number and just said hello. When I asked him why we received this toner from him he proceeded to tell me that I had approved it and was told the price. I told him that was not accurate and he became quite mad and finally said he would send a UPS return label to our school so it could be sent back. So far haven't heard anything more from him.

Unimax precision called and talked to our sales clerk. The called and asked for approval on ink cartridges. Our sales explained they would need to call purchasing. Unimax then changed the subject speaking for a minute. Then ended the call asking who they were speaking with. They used this persons name on the order and shipped 1 cartridge of ink without ever receiving confirmation or our knowabouts for 728.21.
This First invoice was mistakenly paid. Once paid they got greedy. The second invoice was 4 cartridges for $2838.64 (which is 16 times the normal cost). They did however ship these.
Unimax then requested payment for a 3rd invoice dated the same date as the second for $3593.40. Once we dug into UPS tracking and demanded supporting documents from Unimax they admitted it was a mistake.
WATCH OUT! EXPENSIVE SCAM. MAKE SURE NO ONE FALLS FOR THIS.

They are just sending us invoices for the toner that we did not even order from them or we don't even have that printer

We received an invoice for $741.66 for a single cartridge of toner -
more than ten times the typical market cost for this item (including a Shipping & Handling charge of $52.15) that we did not order. We have never ordered anything from this company. The toner they sent wasn't even the correct type for the machine at the location where it was shipped. This company is perpetrating the classic Toner Phoner scam. They will call and misrepresent themselves and try to extract information about the types of copiers/printers you use and who is responsible for ordering supplies; then they will send you toner unsolicited and then invoice you for the item for an exorbitant price. It is out and out fraud.
If they send you something you did not order and then bill you for it, per the Federal Trade Commission you are under no legal obligation to pay for or even return the item.
Don't be intimidated by scammers.

A few weeks ago I received an invoice in the mail from Unimax for $717.97. Immediately recognized a scam since our toner is all provided with our copier contracts. Today, Chris Williams called and then faxed me an invoice for $717.97. I called back and told him I would not be paying this invoice since there was no PO used when placing the order and Unimax was not a vendor in our system. Chris claimed he was sending me proof of delivery. DO NOT PAY THEIR INVOICES!!! SCAM,SCAM,SCAM!

Our nursing home constantly receives phone calls asking for our printer information, which we do not give. I sign for multiple boxes every day from UPS. So upon going through them, I realized this is a company not on our vendor list. The packing slip was in a sleeve on the outside so I did not open the box. I'm glad I did not because UPS said to refuse it, it has to be unopened. I notified UPS to pick it up as a refusal and to flag them as a scam. Two days later I received an invoice for $714.66 for One Toner. Then one week after that I received a very rude phone call from Unimax looking for payment. I told him we did not order this item and he said "It was signed for and we owe the money. I told him it was not opened and it was refused and on its way back to them. He then said, "You think your high and mighty working for a convalescent home." I then notified him that UPS was aware of the scam and hung up the phone.
