Recently had to exchange two mugs (I'd purchased less than a year ago) due to condensation and cracking. I was able to make the exchange locally at my area Tervis store, rather than returning items to the website. It was fast , easy. And allowed me to continue using mugs. I have purchased only plain glassware and am very pleased. I have just ordered a logo'd ice bucket. Will let you know how that goes...
Just a few suggestions, after reading comments from others.
1. Always contact Tervis(or any other company) by phone. Request an e-mail with instructions for returning items. Be throrough in asking just what needs to be returned (cup/lid/tongs?) also, ask what the turn-around time is for the current period.
2. Inquire as to whether items can be returned / exchanged at one of their box stores and whether such a store is located near you.
3. Should you gift a Tervis (or any other item) ask for a gift receipt for your recipient. If they do not offer one, ask how the recipient can exchange item?
I hope these pointers help everyone to have a pleasant experience. I do not work for this company (nor any other!) however, I realize that good customer service sometimes involves due diligence on the customer's part.

After only a year, the inside of my Tervis mug started to mold. The return process was not easy and I had to pay my own shipping to return the mug! I sent in the lid thinking it also needed to be returned. It took over a month to get my replacement and there was no lid. Customer service said they do not replace lids. I never read not to mail it, so it was obviously an accident. They are making no exceptions. So not only was it a hassle to return the mug, but I had to pay for shipping and now I have to pay for a new lid! Horrible quality and poor customer service!

My tervis never lets me down. I carry it to and from work daily. I ordered it right off their website and customized it with a picture of my babies, it's beautiful!

I send tumblers as gifts to my family because we all love them so much. I even customized a couple for my grandkids. I was a little nervous, not sure if they would like what I created, but they all use their cups and tell me all the time how much they love them!
