Complaint against tanning bed, inc.
My name is **** and my husband, **** gave me permission to file this complaint for him with Tanning Bed, INC. My name is **** I had a verbal, one year contract with Tanning Bed, Inc. located at Wegman's Old Plaza on Eastern Boulevard in Canandaigua, NY 14424. I never signed any contract, it was only a verbal contract from September 2012 to September 2013, and that is what the lady that worked behind the counter, told me that I did not have to sign anything that everything was taken care of.
Then after one year, the Tanning Bed, Inc. sent me an e-mail to come in to that same location, for a Free Tanning Session. So I went in to inquire about the free tanning session and a different lady behind the counter, verbally told me that I owed them $83.52 and that I would have to call the number that she gave me and they would explain the charges. I walked right out of there and went home and of course, did not get the free tanning session. That was their SCAM to get me in there. They had my payment information already from the verbal so called contract. NOTHING HAS BEEN IN WRITING WITH THIS COMPANY, EVERYTHING HAS BEEN VERBAL ONLY. THAT IS THE SCAM.
When I got home I called their Headquarters, Customer Service Telephone Number, which is: 716-675-9500, located at West Seneca, NY. When I called and spoke with the lady named Stacy, she told me that I owed a total of $83.52 and was very rude and threatened to ruin my good credit if I did not pay that bill right then over the phone they would turn it over to a Collection Agency and add additional charges for the month of December 2013.
I did not know anything about having this account with Tanning Bed, Inc. and I never received any e-mails, bills or any written documentation stating that I owed them any money! If I did not go in there to inquire about the free tanning session, The Tanning Bed, Inc. would have continued running up that bill and adding charges to it monthly without me knowing it.
Under those circumstances, my wife, ****, got on the telephone and spoke with Stacy, and paid that account in full in order to cancel that account. She paid $83.52 with a Debit Card, and Stacy said that would cancel that account and there would be no more charges. The Confirmation Number for the payment was: 5699395**** and Stacey said that would cancel any more charges against my account no. 569****. My wife, paid it full, on Saturday, November 23, 2013. Stacey, the representative was suppose to send an e-mail to my husband stating that his account was cancelled by the payment over the phone and she never sent the e-mail to him either. AGAIN, NO E-MAIL, NO DOCUMENTATION OF THE CONFIRMATION THAT I PAID EITHER.
