Unfortunately they don’t stand behind there loyal costumers. Even after 6 months trying and after several dispute they favored the merchant(AirfareExperts) who stole my money and also has Lufthansa money now but refuse to pay me back.
Very disappointed, probably will even go shop at Costco instead.

My experience with Synchrony Bank on Paypal credit card is more of a hassle than a facility. I received charges notification through email (which are valid transactions) but my account was blocked thereafter. There wasn't an option for me to reply the message. I had to go through a series of verification on the phone with them to just "acknowledge" my transaction being genuine (and I want to pay them so that my credit score won't be tainted) but that went to a road block because verification process did not account for cases where I'm overseas and stuck with no US phone access to SMS code and the website to verify identity couldn't complete the process. I still stuck, by the way.
Obviously Synchrony is trying very hard to balance between identify verification and service offered to the customers. I won't use this card (or anything related to Synchrony) on a regular basis, unless absolutely necessary. Take your risk on your credit score.

DO NOT OPEN ANY ACCOUNTS WITH SYNCHRONY BANK! This institution are the number one in ruining your credit and not think twice about the damages you carry for years! It means absolutely nothing that you pay your bills on time every time, they will randomly close your account in an effort to improve their portfolio! And if ruining your credit and credit score is the way to do it, it’s done!!! Now my credit utilization is above 98% and credit score has dropped over 70 points! Here is a fact why I know they did to improve their portfolio! They also closed my accounts I had not only with an impeccable payment history but had ZERO BALANCES!!

Synchrony bank locked me out of my account in order to attempt to obtain my identity for their “new facial recognition security measures” over just needing to update a phone number after having verified the account, my name, email, current phone number on account and social. These guys are crooks who just want to steal your identity and sell it to the highest bidder. Don’t believe me, the supervisor I spoke to didn’t even deny it, even confirmed it with me over the phone. Stay far far away from these guys, they don’t believe in protecting your privacy and are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Synchrony closed one of my accounts for inactivity. I used the account on May 1, 2020. I received a $2000 credit line increase on May 3, 2020. On May 22, 2020, the account was closed for inactivity. Be wary of this bank. Their customer service representatives are essentially worthless due to the restrictions Synchrony puts on them. Their products are fine, as long as they work, but you never know when they'll pull the plug. Have back-up plans, just in case.

Insensitive people who will literally hound you day and night. I tried working with them and they just allowed my late charges to rise and rise to even after I explained my hardship. I went from a $400 balance to almost $800 in late fees. I was broke, no money on hand and desperate. These types of tactics and hounding should be against the law as they leave customers helpless. My account was sold to an agency. All I wanted was to defer payments for a few months until I got on my feet. And after speaking with different reps I always go the same response...you have to pay.

I have never seen anything worse than this bank. I had 5 credit cards with a total balance of $65k. I never had late payments and my credit history was excellent. Until these idi0ts closed all my cards for no reason.

Tom Escalation Rep 7204 is very unhelpful and Condescending. I asked for my request to be escalated due to a IRS Audit and he basically in a nutshell that it would be 19 days meanwhile cutting me off over and over and tried to release the call. I told them they need to have a escalation process established when requests are not processed and confirmation emails are not sent out confirming a request was made for past statements to be printed and sent by email. I also asked 3x's in 6 weeks for these statements since their website does not allow you to go back that far.

Do not deal with synchrony bank. The worst bank. I am disabled person who can barely walk on a fixed income. Called them several times to make arrangements on my accounts and to close them to make payments wouldn't even close the accounts. I kept getting overseas people who could barely speak English. I contracted a debt relief company Clear One Advantage to help pay the accounts. Now while we are under a pandemic Synchrony bank has decided to take me to court in April using an attorney from Clearwater named Sarah Dailey. I’m a senior trying to be careful going out. I never received a letter from either them or their at attorneys in reference to a lawsuit. Also be aware when you call Synchrony bank sometimes they answer the phone as GE Money Bank. When I questioned them they told me they are GE Money Bank going by Synchrony Bank.

Very dishonest Company. Bought electric Dryer 1886.56 on 9/17 from Conn's Store. Given 36 months no interest to pay in full by Conn's. Account Number assigned ended in 2536. Paid off in full by 9/2018 from my bank on-line checking account. Payments were sent to Conn's and payment checks were cashed by them. Apparently, unknown to me the account was taken over by Synchrony bank who placed my payments on a credit card which mysteriously appeared in my mailbox. This card had a number ending in 5421. I Never requested, never activated never used this card. When I started inquiries through Legal Shields, Synchrony assigned another credit card ending in 0079 to my account. I never requested, never saw this card, never activated and never used. They reported to credit bureau late payments, 695.00 owing and 929.00 chargeoffs. To date, Synchrony has refused to acknowledge their error and continues with monthly negative credit reports. They have singlehandedly ruined my good credit. Reached out to Conn's who verified that my account was paid in full and Synchrony Bank was the one who made negative reports.

When someone stole my credit card number, they locked me out of my account. Later they sent me a "your statement is available" email with a link to my locked account. The due date came and went while I waited for a replacement card and access to my statement. A woman with a big attitude in their overseas call center could not understand why I might not want to pay a credit card bill that I had never seen. Calling Synchrony for help is about as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist, although to be fair, that's somewhat insulting to dentists.

AS A HOMEBOUND DISABLED VETERAN THEY HAVE STOLEN MORE MONEY FROM ME OVER THE LAST MONTH THEN I HAVE HAD STOLEN IN MY LIFE!! THEY DID NOT CARE WHEN I CALLED THEY DID IT ON MORE THEN ONE TIME AND ON MORE THAN ONE ACCOUNT!! SO IF YOU WANT YOUR MONEY STOLEN FROM YOU THEY ARE THE COMPANY TO USE BUT I DO NOT KNOW ANYONE THAT WANTS THAT!!

ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE APPLYING FOR A CREDIT CARD.....That it's not Syn-CHRONYbank.com.I would never and will never have a store credit card or a regular credit card from these crooks.They own most store cards and lots of regular cards.Tons of nightmare stories from honest hardworking people.NEVER GET A CARD FROM THIS BANK.YOU HAVE BEEN FORMALLY WARNED BY PEOPLE THEY HAVE ROBBED.

The customer service is horrible and I could not understand the person on the other end of the phone, I hung up and called again just so I could communicate. I had a no interest revolving account set up on bill pay, paying three times the minimum payment so it would payoff with in the year. My fault on this is I opted for paperless billing and did not set up an account to see that I was being charged a late fee for 12 months in a row. Total paid was $1648 that was what was owed and they called me to tell me I owed $1400 the next month. I explained what had happened and said even if I was 3 days late that the month before I overpaid three months in advance. His response To me was they dont move it to the next month. They refused to credit me anything . I just want people to know what they get with synchrony-bank .
