Quite appalling overall, would consider Etsy. Experiences include:
1) The almost non-existent customer support, which is difficult to access, why in the digital age is there not a chat help facility.
2) People yanking listings that you have put a bid on and not being able to rate them.
3) The site is rife with counterfeit goods
4) Chinese suppliers seem to be quite prominent and take a long time to deliver goods.
5) Entering place of manufacture should be mandatory.
6) Software failing and directing you to other eBay country sites from e-mails and prompted you to enter credentials for that site.
7) Ironically even the feedback feature failed to load.
On the plus side, eBay sided with me when dealing with obvious counterfeit goods from China and getting a refund.

What is the point of having 100% positive feedback and working hard to keep that 100% feedback when other sellers who can't be bothered to work hard to keep 100% positive feedback can just buy a position at the top of the first page with a sponsored ad? How is this fair? Simply, it's not. This doesn't give buyers the best experience when you get bad sellers who have paid to put their listing at the top of the page through sponsored listings. Ebay and the bad sellers are the only ones who gain from this. In the end, buyers will have bad experiences and leave. Ebay, again, self, self, self, shame on you.

Once upon a time, it was a great place to sell and buy rare, discontinued items; however, over the past year I have had 2 buyers buy items from me that were clearly described and/or new items only to have them claim that the items were not as described or were defected and demand refunds. eBay will rule in the buyers favour - regardless of the fact that you can list items with a 'do not accept returns' option. As a 'private' seller it's very disappointing and I would warn any similar sellers (i.e. not people running businesses) to list with caution.

Do not sell anything on eBay. Please. You are doomed from the moment you post it. The buyer will scam you, you will not sleep at night and then you feel happier when you close the account. You may as well give the item away to charity. There is no protection for a genuine seller.
In order to leave a review you have to give a star. Minus a million stars would be more appropriate. If this review helps anyone to stop using eBay for designer goods and be at the mercy of buyers who abuse the system. I will be pleased I saved someone from the same experience I have had to go through. You do not stand a chance with eBay with protection as a seller and the buyer knows this.
Use Vestiare instead for designer items. Seller and buyer have equal protection.

Very poor customer service from cinemasnacks on Ebay. First stated delivered to my address on 10th March when I was away from 9th until 11th then said OR a neighbor check card left, but no card left, meanwhile EBAY close the case because they said it had been delivered?
I have eventually got parcel from my one of my neighbours who had been working away for a few days so not his fault as no card left.

I always shop on ebay, but it's important you read the sellers reviews. Everything I've ordered so far have been just as expected.
The only thing i will say is that my mom tried to sell a designer bag on here, it was soon taken off as they had said they believed it wasn't an original. Obviously my mother was annoyed and upset and offended by this as she had paid alot of money for the handbag!
Wouldn't sell on here but buying is fine.

eBay has taken us for a ride first class. We have been conned by the seller PJETRIMARKET
who is acting under this assumed name.
However having spoken to various agents at eBay this account is also register by the Home Furniture Based in Blackburn (United Kingdom) .We have Paid £279.99 for a recliner electric massage chair .Payment has been taken yet no confirmation for delivery nor a time and date.
I have just found out that the seller is based in Greece and has placed a premium number +30 6984869736 x0030.
we have purchased this item to assist with my partner's recovery from a major surgery. I have been on the phone to eBay and Paypal and spoken to more than 11 individuals and given a ticket 1-36093025980. I have not an ounce of respect for this company. Do avoid at any cost, this is not about money but great shopping experience, how would I rate them next to Rolls Royce, Amex or Emirates....Massive ZERO!

I bought something on ebay and stupidly didn't read the postage details which said collection only. I asked ebay to help me as I live three hours away from the seller and the man who was on the live chat helped me step by step. He was above and beyond helpful. It's a real shame that other companies are not so helpful. Thank you Ebay.

Today, at around 4.30pm, I spoke to a charming young woman, based (at last!) NOT in the Philippines, but in Dublin. The reason? Simple: I purchased, on Ebay, using its 'Buy It Now' feature, an item, being a Nakamichi CR-2E Cassette recorder/player. This was being sold by a member, with a feedback score of 1571, and obviously a small business seller, seemingly specialising in guitars. To those who are too young, a 'cassette player/recorder' was the CD player of its era, and this deck was circa 1988-1990, and this is what the seller stated, in his listing: verbatim:
Item Number: 322824782030.
CASSETTE TAPE RECORDER
* MINT *
Boxed & Manuals
lovely sounding deck
one of the best condition examples you could wish to find
buyer will be delighted.
On these words (and these are cut-and-paste, not mine) I bought this item, for £150, plus £15.00 courier's fee. It arrived, and the first thing I noticed was how NOT 'Mint' this was! It was grubby, dusty and had marks, just three or four, but marks - on the top of the casing. Being a hi-fi separate it was probably stacked, with another unit above and probably one below, as was the method and still is. It had not been cleaned, so I had to dust it, and where the controls were, which are plastic, I used a delicate cleaner to remove finger grime and years of build up of Lord knows what! When I connected it up to my very expensive, and top class amplifier and speakers, and attempted to play it, I had to adjust the volume control, of the amp, to 3/4 full! The channels for play back, in this, so called, ''Mint'' deck, were faulty. I immediately sent a returns request message, via Ebay, to the seller, and said, ''This is not as you described it, it is not mint, not stunning (he used this term, in the basic item description) and it is grimy, has marks and has sound issues, I wish to return''. He did not reply, but accepted the return immediately, and sent me a return, pre-label, as per Ebay's agreement. I took the item to the post office, with his Royal Mail Business 48 label, and was told, ''This is over weight, and it should be Parcel Force, not Royal Mail.'' The Post Office employee listened to my pleas, and over-rode the 'over-weight' and it went as an 8 KG box, when its limit was only 2 KG! He warned me that Royal Mail may reject it and it would simply come back to me, but I agreed, as I had travelled ten miles to post it! Amazingly, it went through, and arrived with the seller, who refunded me on October 21st. I left negative feedback, wholly justified, saying, ''Not Mint. Not one of the best! Average, grimy and with sound issues'' and then I added, ''Seller would not comment, and sent wrong label, being 2K NOT 8K''. Thus: all honest, justified and not at all defamatory or in any way against Ebay's legal or moral operational standing. YET, this afternoon: my comment removed, totally! No explanation and no notification as to why. I called the Ebay help line (and yes, waited for the usual twenty minutes, dreading being connected to someone in the Philippines) and spoke to the young woman in Dublin. Sje checked the, so called, 'notes' on this and all she said was, ''I am so sorry, there are no notes on this at all, and I cannot see why your feedback has been removed, as all it states is 'hidden', meaning the seller complained, but there is nothing else, and I cannot tell you why it has been removed!'' She could NOT even see my honest warning to the public out there, about this person! This is total nonsense and I suspect this seller has manage to remove negative feedback before. Why? Because the young woman also said, ''I will make sure your complaint is passed on, so we can check to see if this seller has manipulated feedback before''. So, all of you out there and Ebay, if you care to be bothered: THIS IS WRONG, AND THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY AND THIS IS BECAUSE THERE ARE AGENTS IN A COUNTRY WHO DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND NUANCES OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND WHO OPERATE IN A WAY THAT DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE IN CORRECT NOTED FORM! THIS IS NOT NEW, AND THIS PERSON I BOUGHT FROM HAS MANIPULATED MY FEEDBACK, AND HAD IT REMOVED FROM HIS SCORE TO CONTINUE TO SELL AND POSSIBLY NOT DESCRIBE AS ITEMS SHOULD BE DESCRIBED AND THEN TO NOT COMMUNICATE AND FINALLY TO INTERFERE WITH THE RETURNS PROCESS, BY SENDING, DELIBERATELY, A WRONG LABEL AND THEN CONTACTING EBAY TO PROTECT HIMSELF, BY HAVING MY FEEDBACK REMOVED! AND EBAY ALLOWED IT, AND HE STILL SELLS, WITHOUT MY FEEDBACK THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A COMPLAINT AND WARNING!
This, apparently, according to the UK press, is typical of Ebayl, and much reported in the press! But for me, its the last straw with Ebay. All I got was, ''Sorry!'' And I was told they cannot or will not put back my feedback! So, Ebay, contact me, and tell me WHY you allow this and explain to all those, who I HOPE are reading this, just why you are complicit in what you state is unethical: FEEDBACK MANIPULATION! And in this case, down to you and one of your agents, who did not even make a note as to why!!!

Not great for business sellers, high charges & fees, treated like you are an irritant, blocked without valid reasons or warnings, website constantly fails, out sourced customer services who know little & can do very little when you do speak to them. Somehow I don't think they want our business, probably more happy to get Chinese sellers that open and close their accounts if any problems arrise rather than honest UK sellers selling to UK buyers.

If your thinking of using eBay don’t use another site like Spock . I’ve been a member of ebay since 2003 with over 600 positive feedback . I’ve had my issues with eBay over the years trying to solve problems takes forever they are very slow to act . I have now cancelled my account following a recent sale where the buyer set up a fake account giving false details I alerted eBay to this who did nothing and the fake buyer went on to scam other genuine ebayers. eBay do not take security / safety seriously when you speak to them you always get an Indian call Center wha can’t speak very good English and rarely sort things out satisfactory their listing and final value fees are extortionate. Avoid EBAY they are useless and fraud is rife

I f you are new to on-line retail remember eBay is just an easy option, you can be up and running in a few hours, but easy is not what you get once you are dealing with these people. They make up new rules every day, presumably because they have nothing else to do. I have ended up with boxes of stuff I can longer sell, had to refund buyers who have bought items not suitable to their requirements, and got negative feedback even though I held my tongue and refunded in pleasant fashion. I sold a children's party tumbler to woman, later she complained that she was bedridden and it had spilled drink on her, I told her that I would give her a full refund, which I did immediately and explained that the item was for children so this would be better than a replacement which would probably be the same; she gave me the worse negative feedback possible! Everyone else who had bought this item was delighted with it, but eBay side with her and I am now a bad seller. If you have any problem with their rulings they are a law unto themselves, totally unregulated by any outside standards. I used to think eBay was great until I started selling now I think they are a filthy company that right from the top down is run by unethical filth!

i bought two items via ebay from reign stores ( 7led cordless light )i tried to return them via ebay to find that they wouldn't send a return label and i had to pay postage and that the postage cost would be greater than the cost of the two items.
ebay was of no help i was kept on hold by one of the customer services for 15 mins with no contact i yet i could hear him laughing with his colleagues when ever i said hello i suspect he had put it on speaker for the amusement of his colleagues , so i hung up ( i hope his boss reads this )
the second customer services person was useless also 12 mins to get no where .
i tracked the seller down via the address given to return the items to , to a dump of a house in a rubbish strewn tatty housing estate in Blackburn
my advice is to avoid ebay and reign store in particular, in this case the goods are shoddy and unfit for purpose
you will not get any help from ebay stay away from them
