They will always favour the seller as they don't want them to have a bad buying experience, even if they are blatantly trying to get a refund for no legitimate reason.

I've had both good and bad from this company. The best part is that when things go wrong they I always get my money back. Just some dodgy sellers to be wary of.

UK suppliers of China semiconductor items. Do not buy on ebay any item from a UK source or direct from China which in my experience have come from items which are major company rejects recovered from their rubbish bins illegally or from their recycled waste.

Ebay does not check seller listings. Wanted to buy a battery impact wrench . several chinese wrenches with battery power quoted at 19800mah thats 19.0ah these batteries do not exist on the planet in this format, to make things worse the one quoted two figures for the same tool 19800mah and 22000mah, cant be both. When a message to the seller was sent asking what the exact battery power was i got a reply of 19,800 horse power. WOW thats enough power to power the first world war. Whats the hell is going on.Are we all idots.

Pointless me writing this. We can see how many people have a bad experience with this ridiculous pathetic excuse of a company and some how they still exist (I say as a hypocrite who still wastes my time using them).
I had a listing for a vacuum cleaner brush. I listed it a used but in the seller notes and item description let it be known that the brush wasn't rotating but in my opinion it was still useable. Id*ot bought it in haste and then tells me it's not working and that, because I didn't write it in the listing, I was scamming him. He also opened a claim for not as described!
I got eBay on the phone and the Filipino assistant was trying to reassure me and gave me a reference number to use on a call back 5 days later.
I call back 5 days later, I get an Irish call handler. This person keeps interrupting me and tries to relate their experience to mine. She tells me what I already know, that I need to try and sort it out with the buyer. That eBay will.side with the buyer. She then tells.me I have to pay to.have the item.sent back and then I can have them look at the case again! I explain he's sending it back as "not as described" when that is exactly the opposite of what has happened here. "Once a case is opened, we can't do anything"!
Absolutely designed to frustrate sellers while getting their money. I hope the entire organisation is brought down along with Bezos at Amazon. Infuriating

I've used ebay for many years and although there is the odd issue with a seller, problems are usually resolved quickly. It's fast and easy to find what you're looking. I especially love purchasing homemade items from small businesses as it really helps them.

Nasty greedy company that overcharges sellers. Their fees have climbed up over the years and driven sellers, including myself, to go elsewhere. Avoid.

Full of sellers claiming to have goods in UK. After you buy the goods you suddenly get an email saying order will be delivered in 3 weeks from China! Great news I just bought a load of cheap junk! *****!

Was good a few years ago, but now full of rip off artists. I am currently waiting for an item i bought from a UK based seller. It got 'posted' via Royal Mail 2nd class letter 2 weeks ago, still no sign of it (they said it would arrive last week). I think its coming from China but cannot prove this. Just check out the vast numbers of Chinese who have UK bases.

The only people who buy and sell on eBay are either scammers or individuals with severe emotional issues and I say this with experience. I have come across many fraudulent listings, some who seem to be part of criminal organisations given the vast quantities and prices of the products on offer whom eBay do nothing about (because it earns them a pretty penny). The second type of buyer or seller is an emotional unstable person who either has anger issues or seems to be unhappy with absolutely everything. I have dealt with many verbally abusive people who otherwise would not speak to me like this had I been a professional store such as Argos. I believe eBay to only be a last resort for buying and selling because the loss of brain cells from the stress is simply not worth it for a few quid. The customer service is also atrocious, unhelpful and ridiculous. They give parroted answers and remove listings for the silliest of reasons, I tried to sell PPE to the NHS or the public for normal prices and they removed every listing for PPE from normal seller's due to 'price gouging'. Well not everyone is price gouging, use your eyes and stop sanctioning people.

Ebay closed my account without any explanation or warning.
The customer services team would not tell me the reason why my account was closed even if it did not breach the terms & conditions.
Ebay decided not to reinstate the account without providing an explanation.
What seller protection does ebay provide if they can close down your account without explanation?

Never had a problem! Sometimes sellers can be dodgy, sell you damaged items and refuse to refund you. That's when EBAY steps in, takes on the case and gives you all your money back. The company is brilliant!

My experience with eBay is disheartening. Caused me a lot of distress and loss of money and left me with a feeling of being damned if I keep the product and damned if I returned it. Either way I'm out of pocket.
Repeated failure of eBay to honour its own commitment to its policies forced me to close my account with them and never to buy through eBay again .
Many times I was sent the wrong product; sent sizes that differ from what I ordered; and sent me products missing crucial parts and so on and so forth. Once I said I do not wish to keep the product, eBay allow the seller to haggle with me offering unwanted scaled discounts to keep a product of no use to me,.
eBays fails to monitor claims made by sellers. I found out that eBay website carries some infringements, misrepresentation and misinformation including claims of being sold by its manufacturers which they were not, offering product guarantees which neither the original makers of the product knew about nor would they be willing to honour.

Order a pair of brand new pinking shears, looked liked value for money, but when they arrived at the collection point the package was dirty like tea had been poured on it. Opening the package it was a poor quality low grade cheap rusty at the top and in the middle of the scissors, but was on sale as a brand new item never used. I returned the horrible item back to the seller who was a rude person on line store by azizsonstrading. The seller said they would refund when returned the the dirty brown rusty scissors back to the not experienced seller no sense of good customer services. The seller says no package was received, but I have proof of posting receipt, it was sent by second class post the old rust stain scissors. Still no money back from the cheap on line seller, and eBay have closed the case but I sent them proof of posting to. This has to be a game why want eBay see the seller is a back door deal liar. I want my cash back this is not fair run down customer service been given. Old rust stain scissors listed as new what the point.

Did write about ebay in a poor light but then got through to the right person and they corrected the issue.Scammers selling on ebay so beware that your not buying from ebay but it really it comes from amazon. If bluecare express tracking is the sellers delivery service or the sellers return address is bogus, then the seller is probaly a scammer.
Bluecare express (third party) change the tracking details from ebay to amazon,it will still show a ebay tracking number on your ebay account but really your buying your item straight from amazon..My item was delivered from amazon prime as a gift in a different name to mine but had my name and address on the amazon tracking label on the parcel.Took too many calls to get a refund but i did in the end no thanks to the lip service overseas customer service reps.If you want a refund because you dont want to purchase a scammed item,go to ebays resolution center and ask for a manager when you get problems with the call center rep. There is a optionat the botton of the page for them to call you back which they will.Scammers on ebay is not good PR so they will give you a refund but dont expect it overnight,Nearly 3 weeks it took.

eBay is filled with dodgy buyers that are provided with unlimited protection whilst honest sellers on the platform absorb all the losses. Honestly, why do we pay a 10% fee on everything we sell to just be left out to dry when a scammer runs a number on you! Disgusting customer support from eBay.
I had a user damage a device after receiving it and claiming that they received it in that manner and that they want a full refund. After contacting eBay I was told they have to respect the buyer's statutory rights and they must remain "impartial" by forcing me to issue the refund and absorb the FULL cost of the device and two lots of shipping. Not sure about you, but doesn't seem impartial to me.
Been a seller on ebay for almost 12 years and had 100% positive feedback. The icing on the cake will be when the scamming user leaves me a negative review too!
Disappointed doesn't begin to sum up how I feel

I got damaged goods delivered. contacted seller who agreed a full refund but nothing has happened. Tried to get help from EBAY on their web site but it just keeps bringing me back where I originally started. Ebay are not what they used to be. It's all new stuff being sold and mostly from China. Such a shame.

I have written to the seller, the CEO, and 6 agents via their chat and email functions and I have provided them with images of the smashed product I received and I am still to get my refund. This company is absolutely beyond saving.
If I shopped at Amazon or Wayfair or any other reputable online seller and provided them with proof that my product was damaged then of course I would either be given a pre-paid return label and a refund or I would simply be given my money back and told to dispose of the item myself. Even Wish presumably have policies in place to ensure that customers who receive damaged goods are either reimbursed or receive replacements.
Only, uniquely with ebay can you expect to spend hours and hours and hours talking to various customer service representatives, can you expect such a simple matter to be an impossibility. You are entirely at the mercy of your seller and of course the seller does not care for as long as they can manipulate reviews with online bots and the like. Ebay will take no responsibility if you ever have an issue and you will be left out of pocket.
Most of my friends who shop online have long abandoned Ebay for the same reasons. I hung around for a long while because I thought it was better to support individual sellers over some huge mega corporation like Amazon. But you will regret taking this view in the long run. There are other options too if you want to avoid large corporations and support individual sellers, Etsy for example.
You might still be wanting to go to Ebay for the deals, but there are great deals everywhere else as well, and if there is an item on Ebay that is cheaper than elsewhere, then that is for a reason. The product is a scam.
For the third time now I am having to give up on a simple affair because Ebay are so incredibly incompetent. Years ago I had items never be delivered and sellers disappear. I never got my money back for any of that either. Now even when I receive an electrical item that is beyond repair, that could set my house on fire if I were to actually use it, Ebay couldn't care less and after three months of fruitless complaining I will be chucking it in the bin and learning my lesson from this. Never shop at Ebay again.

Had a listing for 10 days and immediately buyer requests to cancel listing. (XXX676196458) Nothing I can do. Ebay shocking policies allows this. No peanalty for the timewaster who ruined my auction and when its relisted, others who may be interested are suspicious and then sell for less. Nice one ebay, down goes your commision total amount. talk about shoot yourself in the foot. Great job ebay. its totally crap and i will be ending my custom after I sell what I need to in the next few weeks. 20+ years Ive had enough. Shameful. I cant even leave negative feedback. I cant even leave negative comments on a positive feedback. Totally ineffective seller protection.
What are you going to do ebay to stop this shambles????
