Just two days left on my 2 year warranty on my MDX 1000 headphones which cost me £320 at JL and Sony mended them without any question.
JL didn’t want to know but I insisted they send them to Sony for a second opinion.
Thanks to Sony 100% 0% to JL

They will not send an engineer nor remotely log into see the picture quality which according to curry pc world they can because a technician at the store did but was unable to get full access we have been on the phone and everything the telly cost over £1,000 and We have had no help from Sony with regards to this the 5 year warranty is not worth having as you can’t get past the technical department or speak to a
Manager the picture is extremely poor quality and even though the tv is just 1 year old we have given up trying to get
Some sort Of support from Sony and bought a LG tv. Avoid

Purchased the Sony UBP-X800 4K player (£249.00) for a Birthday treat and what a total waste of money.
Firstly this machine was faulty before it was setup with a software issue that Sony have known about for a long time, basically it just freezes and locks up while watching DVD/Blu-Ray and 4K films, on lock up their is no operation at all so you have pull your cabinet out and unplug the player and wait 5 minutes then when it starts up you have to find the position of your film again.
I contacted Sony and was told a software update would be due for this problem and guess what? The machine did a update on March 12th 2019 and was suppose to rectify the problems I was having, after the update the machine was still locking up. So I emailed Sony twice and they sent me an email to tell me to disconnect everything from the TV and complete a hard reset, this was done and the next day it locked up again.
Now I'm told to send it to a second rate repair company who have bad reviews to repair it? Repair it when it isn't broken? and has a software issue that Sony haven't worked out what the problem is so what's the chance of a local repair company got at fixing it.
Sony have completely washed there hands from this problem and left in in the wilderness when in reality this machine should have been recalled because I'm not the only one having this problem on research.
Sony has been disgraceful just telling me what I want to hear when they knew full well that the advice they gave me wouldn't make one bit of difference.

Sony used to have a great rep for quality and durability not the case any more. After getting my new phone 6 weeks ago xperia 10 seemed like a great phone for the price £350 it lasted 6 weeks after trying all the recommended things still not working properly. Whatever happened to customer service where you could actually talk to someone explain the problem and hopefully get it sorted or sent back for repair well it has now changed to page after page of try this or that all of which don't really apply to the problem you're having then the online chat line well what a waste of time they tell you to try all the things you've already done.by this time you have spent hours of your life you'll never get back and got no where. OK so finally I have to send it back but in all honesty I would have expected better. Just another company got so big the customers just don't matter anymore well not after they have sold you the product.

Sony are scammers, avoid them at all costs.
I bought a new camera and was promised Cash back, filled in all the steps, the long process via the form.
then they just sent through an email saying that its not accepted and no reason...
Not responding to emails, terrible experience. Which is a shame as the product is quite good.

Would not replace a broken head-set unless I could provide VAT receipt, that I could not get/find. I had proof of purchase slip.
They will do anything to avoid fixing anything broken, substandard.

Problem with Sony WH-1000XM2 headband cracking and breaking off. Commonly reported problem with this and the previous model but Sony denies any liability. Shame because when they're in one piece they're a decent set of cans.

What can I say that the brand Sony does not say for itself?
The online site is brilliant, I always buy Sony and my online account is very easy to use and register products - which gives access to user manuals, firmware updates, product support and much more.
I would highly recommend that anyone purchasing a Sony product, open an account and register the product as any after-care is brilliant.
There are also self-help tools available and trouble-shooting services. Which I doubt one would need as I always have found Sony to be 100% reliable.

Scammed by Sony cash back!
Wouldn’t honour the £100 cash back offer promoted by curry’s. I purchased the camera had the product. Looked into the offer before hand and saw that you had to wait 30days in order to claim it back from Sony. Went to claim and got a no, from their terrible customer services as it was on finance 6months. Said nothing about this anywhere. I trusted and liked them before but now I’ll steer well and truly clear

Sony Smart TV Bravia KDL-42W829B. AVOID brand and model. Bought new four years ago; cannot be fixed to the wall as no standard fixing screws. After three years it is no longer "smart"; rather useless. ITVHub is no longer supported. BBC (iPlayer) no longer works and both Sony and BBC blame each other's software. Funny that both ITVhub and iPlayer are supported on laptops, PCs, mobiles, etc. Allegedly, NowTV Stick no longer supports this model. Do not bother with a new set (which presumably Sony wants you to). Just switch to a more reputable manufacturer.

Bought my 65XD9305 for £1850 2 year ago. and it broke down 3 time within last 6 month. I was refused refund i request for a replacement instead. what i got was a lower tier model XF9005 instead, which is £800 lower launch price and currently £400 cheaper than what i originally pay for. Apparently "like for like" doesnt mean same price tier but "similar spec". Let just hope this doesnt break down in three year time else i be getting a budget TV with "similar spec"

After years of trusting Sony, that will no longer be the case. I bought a 4K tv from them and noticed that every time I turn it off or change hdmi, the Sound resets. Sony said this is normal and I have to change the sound settings manually every time. This can take up to 15 minutes. The place I bought it from said that because Sony say that is normal refuse to refund me. Court awaits. Sony are rubbish and I will not buy from them again.

I have a Sony experia phone which is supposed to be as good as any other smartphone. However, after two weeks of usage, the cracks began to show. It became unbelievably slow, at times unresponsive. It will restart itself for no reason, it began vibrating randomly when it was lay on a table locked, and then lit up white. It lasted for over two minutes til I was able to reset the phone. It is very temperamental, unreliable. It sometimes won't allow me to answer calls. My signal is always awful wherever I am despite the fact I am on same network as my partner who has a different phone and never has an issue with signal. Had the experia once before years ago when it was a mini version and had same issues then. Never again will I buy a Sony phone.

Awful, awful company these days. "Sony" used to be the 'go-to' company back in the day, but today's products are awful. Purchased a £2k television and it failed after 26 months. Sony were absolutely no help and actually said they 'expect' electronic products to fail. Sony - for your reference, here is the email reference: [case:17483439][email:335876381]

What a bunch of scammers, would you believe Sony do this to their customers, bought a tv 4 years ago (5 year warranty) and had started to bubble behind the glass screen an obvious manufacturing fault (reported by many others with the same model) which impairs with the picture on blacks which shows white blotches everywhere, still under warranty they sent out a joke of a repair company ‘TVRS’ to look at it, first thing they asked proof of purchase - tick had that, next thing they looked for was any damage - they had no concern for the main fault which was all over the main picture on the screen, the tv had a small scratch barely noticeable to the human eye, they said very unlikely to be replaced by Sony as damaged screen, said that they can’t fix the main fault as it was behind the screen the actual resin that bonds the glass screen to tv so they reported it as ‘damaged’ and Sony refused to replace because of damage that had no effect on the picture a small scratch top left of screen, thing is the so called scratch damage screen would need to be replaced anyway as the picture had white blotches all over it. Never again will I buy from Sony they sell you all the bull of 5 year warranty but any damage anything to get out of it they’ll do their loyal customers, been buying from Sony all my life but not now going to look at other brands for my TVs. Also want to report how incompetent ‘TVRS’ repair company are, they told me someone would call me 30 mins before they arrive, they didn’t and phoned me but had the audacity to phone and say where are you? ‘Well I’m at work waiting on your call’, the guy had a cheek to have a go at me when I arrived said that he wasn’t told about phoning me ‘not my problem mate’ it’s your incompetent work colleagues, oh yes they come out to look at it twice first guy said it would go away for repair but couldn’t fit in van so said he would send someone out with another van, second guy came out week later with another guy and said they also it couldn’t fit in van and just said the other guy should’ve reported the damaged scratch so didn’t take it away, waited in twice for this bunch of time wasters, PLEASE AVOID ‘SONY CENTRE’ AND ‘TVRS REPAIRS’ USELESS SCAMMERS WORKING TOGETHER, THEY DONT REALISE WE PAY THE BILLS, WELL I WONT BE HOPE YOU DONT EITHER.

WARNING DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM SONY!!
Unfortunately I was totally unaware of how bad Sony have become when I recently purchased there flagship phone (xperia xz3) when it was released a few months back, new for £699 from the Sony official online store. I have treated the phone exceptionally well and it has never been damaged in the slightest. The phone lasted just over 5 months before breaking. I developed bright green vertical lines on the OLED display, the built in fingerprint scanner stopped working completely after Sony's most recent update, all settings regarding the fingerprint scanner have disappeared from the phone settings menu, and the touchscreen becomes completely unresponsive periodically on the phones lock screen rendering the device completely unusable. I contacted Sony support and they advised me to preform a software repair using the Xperia companion program on my PC. Not only did this not fix any of the issues but it wiped all of my data, pictures, videos, music, contacts and messages from my phone that I have accumulated over the 5 month period I have owned the device. The Xperia companion restore function could not restore any of my original content or data back to my device. I then contacted Sony asking for a full refund under the UK consumer rights act which states that any electronic device that develops a fault within a 6 month time period from the date of purchase can be returned for a refund. Sony refused my request for a refund, giving no reason as to why and offered me instead, to send my phone back to Sony for reconditioning/repair. They even had the audacity to offer to "recycle" my phone for me "free of charge" if they are unable to preform the repairs. There support is completely impersonal, vague, generic automated responses and quite frankly downright rude! I have contacted Sony on multiple occasions threatening them with a trading standards ombudsman and demanding a refund, that i'm entitled to by law, with no success. I find it totally unacceptable that a company like Sony can show such flagrant disregard to consumer law but I am at a loss as to what my options now are. With no options available to me, I have been forced to send my phone off to Sony for repairs. They have given me no indication whatsoever of how long this may take. I'm now left without a phone which is seriously affecting my ability to work as i used my phone to clock into work on the work app, not to mention the obvious inconvenience of loosing all my contacts, data and having no way to contact any of my family, friends or any important contacts. The phone comes with a 2 year warranty that apparently Sony can just ignore at there discretion. I think its disgraceful that I have paid such a large sum of money for a "top of the range" phone from Sony but I am now left without a phone for an undisclosed length of time and at best I may receive a reconditioned/repaired device only 5 months after I purchased it from new. I can only hope that this review can save other people from having to go through what I have with this despicable company and hopefully save at least someone 100s of pounds wasted on purchasing defective products from Sony. All i wanted was my money back so I could purchase a new phone from a different company which I think is only fair. I for one will never again be fooled into purchasing another product baring the Sony name. BUYER BEWARE!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Worst part is my account got taken away after all the years of building my account.

I can actually remember when Sony was a reputable customer orientated company, I have recently found that this is no longer true.
I notice from the reviews here I am not the only very unhappy ripped off Sony customer. I was looking for a 4k action cam in order to shoot video of our USA road trip, Sony's FDR-x3000r Action cam was a little on the expensive side but had raving reviews and lots of positive feedback, I was hoping to use my Phone, drone and Sony 4k to take some great video.
Unfortunately the Sony footage was no better than 720p no matter what the setting it was far from 4k, none of the footage from our once in a lifetime holiday is any good!
Contacting Sony to resolve this issue was a nightmare, many many emails, including me sending detailed descriptions of the issue, video clips, still photos etc, repeating my descriptions over and over Sony refused to RMA or suggest how to fix the cam.
I will NEVER buy Sony products again, I will also be sure to provide negative promotion whenever and wherever possible.

I will never purchase a Sony product again. Worst Customer Service I have ever come across. They do not help at all and it is like trying to communicate with a robot who is reading a script. My Sony WX350 Camera lost sound after less than 13 months from date of purchase. Was only 3 weeks out of warranty when my case was opened with Sony and I had only used on one holiday. Camera cost £149.00 new with all accessories. They quoted me £117.00 for repair. They had no interest in that it was only 3 weeks out of warranty (it was out of warranty as far as they were concerned) and would not waive that at all. If I did not want it repaired they would return it to me unrepaired but there would be an inspection fee of £52 !! Four weeks of emails and trying to escalate my complaint and the best they could offer was to return to me unrepaired and waive the £52 inspection fee. Thanks for nothing ! and what has turned out to be a rubbish camera !!!

Sony always used to be a watchword for quality, what happened?
We purchased this unit to go into my partners car, a mk5 vauxhall astra. I'm fairly proficient at fitting car stereos having had a few cars that had horrible head units, so, I decided to do the fitting myself.
The head unit is SUPPOSED to be a double din unit. That's where the first issue arises, it's too big, a few millimetres, but enough to mean that without chopping lumps off from the car or the cage it WILL NOT FIT. So,, the front of the unit is a double din "shape", but, the rear of the unit is single, which means, the cage that is supplied has a lump of metal in the middle that supports the unit inside the dash. Great idea, BUT, again, cage that is supplied with the Sony head unit doesn't fit into the standard double din space in the car. So, you have to buy an aftermarket fitting kit (another £50) so the thing will fit. The Sony is £119, but, by the time you add on the neccesary leads to ensure it marries up to your car's individual electrical system, then add on the price of a fitting kit so it actually fits in the car, you are closer to the whole thing costing £200. What started life as what looked to be a bargain, actually ISN'T.
And now the silly issues.. Bluetooth that refuses to connect, even after following the instructions it's a Misson. NFC, absolutely no point in having this on the unit. The control for the menus is not intuitive at all. The idea of the voice control was something that was initially a great idea, and a good reason to purchase the unit, but even that's an epic fail. Pressing the menu button only forces the android phones to use its own built in S voice, and as most people know, it's virtually pointless as it won't allow you to connect to WhatsApp and other apps, only text messages and apps pre installed on your phone.
All in all its not a bad unit though, the sound quality is excellent, and the build quality is solid. I wouldn't recommend buying it though as to pay out an extra 80+ quid on what you need to fit it into your car is nearly the same cost as the unit is on its own.

Sony don't seem able to release firmware updates out for their TV's without issues. As a Owner of a Sony OLED AF8 (2018 model )which has a bodged Oreo update from Sony with no sign of a fix, as a disabled user I cant unplug my sound bar just to hear the TV each time I turn it on. Sony pulled the update even after users in the USA complained about this issue and it was released here in the UK. Each year more bugs and lousy service and old hardware in modern TVs. If you bought a TV in early 2018 like the AF8 the CPU is from 2015 and very slow and outdated.
Shame really as the picture quality is stunning but I'll never buy from Sony again. They even admitted they knew about my last TV's (XE93) motherboard was faulty from new out of the Czechia factory and that a firmware update damaged some main boards which had to be replaced too. Not what you want to hear and I'm not sure the guy from executive customer relations was meant to tell me this, but frankly if it was true it is appalling.
