This is probably the worst banking experience I have every dealt with. The customer service is just plain horrible. The mobile deposit is the main focus unless you live in Kansas where their one bank is located so you figure the mobile deposit platform would rank among the best in the banking industry...right? Think again. It is very difficult to get an acceptable picture to verify check. I have a higher end smart phone and camera. Bank of America accepted pic of checks first try every time for me for comparison. You better not submit a check that is made out the initials of your company: ie A Better Company (A.B.C.) or they will reject it. The customer service is slow and I NEVER got a debit card after 3 months of opening the account and asking for it in writing 4 times.
So do what you want but I suggest you don't even waste your time with this mickey mouse bank. What is the point of using an "internet" bank when you can't even use the mobile deposit feature. LOL

I've been using Small Business Bank for nearly five years and the only issue I've faced, and it was only once, was in getting an acceptable picture of a very oddly shaped check. (I did eventually get it through).
I've even had an occurrence of the bank contacting me directly on a Friday afternoon to let me know that there was an issue on one of the checks deposited - they wanted to let me know in case the funds would be needed immediately. That enabled me to redeposit immediately and all was good.
The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 ........
SBB no longer accepts money orders or bill pay checks by direct deposit and, instead, requires them to be mailed in. Not a huge deal since I rarely get those but, instead of a full refusal, the use of an automatic hold on those Items would have been much preferred.

Almost painless. My loan officer was very kind, understanding, then quickly worked to determine how she might help me. I had her full attention, until my business was completed. I felt quit comfortable as I was walked thru the process.

They do a good job of holding my money! I started banking with them when I was 17. Back when they were Gardner bank, I set the account up with my mom back then. After awhile they changed their name to Small Business Bank which I thought was weird. And then they up and left Gardner and moved to Lenexa??? It was very annoying, and very inconvenient. I went in the other day to get my mom removed from my account and they said that they can't do that without shutting down my account and I can't reopen one once I shut it down because they don't do personal accounts anymore? Only business. Overall I actually don't like this company at all, I just want this to be on their website.

Have had nothing but positive experiences since starting to deal with Small Business Bank over four years ago. I keep a small amount in the account - money goes out just as quickly as it comes in - and with other banks, this would create a big service charge issue for a home-based small business. Not with this company. Instead, I deal here with next day credit on deposits and 24/7 access. And, in the one case I would have had an issue, I received a call from them "before" the issue actually happened in order to straighten it out. You don't get that kind of service from any bank today but here I am bragging on them for service quality.

This is the best solution and bank I have found for small business. Exactly the account and online transaction options that I need, and reasonable fees for wire transfers.
I have 2 of my businesses now banking with SBB.

Customer service by Ms. McFadden was awesome. Yet, I feel that the senior bank officials were biased and pre-judgmental during the "due diligence" after the approval of my business checking and savings accounts. I feel my small business profile was prematurely judged and unfairly deemed to be 'unsuitable". Indeed, a perfect example of prejudice and misjudgment.

Excellent for Small Business. No hidden fees, no highway robbery. Communication is fast, easy and courteous. The web interface is a bit outdated and lacks some information, but nothing major or critical. I love SBB!

Dealing with this bank brings back fond memories of yesteryear, when you actually knew your banker by name. The service is amazing and personal, the online interface easy to use and there are no fees! I'm almost hesitant to write such a glowing review for fear that a rush of customers might change the wonderful banking experience I have been enjoying so far.

I'm sorry but this was my worst banking experience ever in over 25 years of business. After opening my account, one of my clients AND their banker had incredible difficulty in sending a wire to my newly opened account. The banker actually questioned if this was a real bank. The following day I was informed that MY account has been canceled. No reason was given other than I was suddenly "not a fit". I said that was an unacceptable answer and was promised an e-mail within the hour. I never did get an e-mail or answer. I notice similar experiences occurred with others while looking at reviews online. I wish I had seen them before I wasted so much time.

What impresses me about SBB isn't so much the good account terms and features -- and they are. It's how they handle things when something outside the usual takes place. SBB has a great personal touch with their customer service, and I heartily recommend them.
