An update to my earlier review of Sinemia-I got a response here saying to contact them and they would fix the issue. I’ve tried to contact them multiple times and heard nothing. Continue to get an error message and haven’t been able to use the app for months. I saw on a thread that it occasionally works to delete the app and reinstall. I deleted and looked for the app. I got a message that the app is no longer available. This is the worst “customer service” I’ve ever experienced.

This company operates like it's run by monkeys. Signed up in March, and have been able to see 1 movie. Nothing but error messages for the last 5 months. No amount of reinstalling, logging in/out, and clearing the cache has changed anything. No one responds to messages, no one helps. If you're a generous person, consider your yearly payment to this place as an act of charity. Because you'll get nothing in return

For all in USA having issues, Sinemia went bankrupt and no longer is in service. Call your credit card (cc) company and explain you did not receive service promised. All the major cc companies know of Sinemia's shenanigans, and will often give you a refund without doing a charge back, if not, then do a charge back on your cc, Sinemia will have so many days to respond, if they do, probably won't, then follow instructions to appeal and send documentation. I had 2 accounts, the first one I charged back before they went bankrupt, and they responded, I appealed, they went bankrupt, had to call cc company, they knew of Sinemia and many customer complaints and they refunded me the entire amount right then. The 2nd account I did after the bankruptcy and Sinemia never responded, so I got a full refund on that account. It's somewhat of a pain, but for me it was about $324.00 refunded back so worth it to me.

This is complete fraud , they again disabled my ability to book tickets I literally paid 250 $ including the physical card and they only let me watch one movie soo far , every time I try I get in to issues or not let me book I see the error " an error Occurred "

I okayed the new higher rate and when I tried to purchase a ticket i get the same error everyone is talking about. Tried pre-planning and the same error comes up. Emailed support 3 days in a row but no reply other than the one that says they have received it. I don't think they know how to fix it so they just ignore us. Going back to paying cash at the theater....never had an issue with that.

The app has worked for the last 8 months and now have not been able to order movie tickets for the last 4 weekends. No response from their customer service.

Worst Service. I subscribed for one year and all of a sudden the app was stopped working. I am not able to book any movies from the planning tab. I sent so many mails to customer care and there was no response at all.

Was great up until recently. It used to work great up until the last few weeks. Now I can't book a ticket at all without getting an error saying I need to be on the latest version (which I am running). I just wanna be able to book my tickets thanks

I paid in advance for annual memberships for my wife and I. We could see 3 movies per month each. We used the service for 3 months, then our memberships were terminated for "violating the terms of service," although we had not. It seems they realized we were actually going to see our 3 movies per month, and that they were going to lose money on our memberships, so they terminated us while they were still ahead. SInemia also added a $1.80 fee to every ticket purchase that was never disclosed anywhere prior to signing up. They say they will refund your remaining $, but instead of 9 months of an unusable service (about $81), they calculated total prepaid $ - cost of tickets purchased and told me I would get about $30 instead. I have emailed their support team countess times and never received a response. We enjoyed the service when it worked and our accounts were active, but it has become clear that this company is really about taking your money.

I am on a monthly plan and the app has not worked for me for on at least 3 different occasions. It is not working for me now when I try to reserve an advanced ticket, it will not move past the movie selection screen. So far customer service has not replied with any helpful information.
Edit: Sinemia responded below saying to just “contact them and they would be happy to help” but as I stated above, I have contacted them twice with no response, other than an auto-generated email to say we received your email. Sinemia, if you are reading this my username is @jeremybroadfoot

I have been an avid Sinemia user for 2 years now. Way before when things were Physical card only...The service was fantastic.
Now, I can't even book an advance ticket. Unlimited spinning circles that take me nowhere and no chance at ever watching a movie through this. Was impressed and now unbelievable disappointed. I plan on making it known on every social media platform what a joke this has become.
EDIT: Since reaching out to me, the issue has been resolved and my positive experience has resumed.
EDIT 2: The experience has once again become unusable. Reaching out has had no effect.

Sinemia is a fake company. It has stopped working for the past 4 months. I have paid for the entire year in last october and I could use it only for hardly 4 months. I have written several emails that i want to cancel my membership but no response. Now they have filed bankruptcy. Not sure if my bank would refund. But this company is a fraud.

Same issues like everyone else is having right now. I cannot purchase any advance tickets any more since a month ago. The app gives "an unknown error occurred, please try again later" error message, and customer support never responds to my request for help. What are you doing Sinemia? I haven't felt so angry towards a company for a very long time.
Please take some actions immediately to fix my account.

Sinemia app won't allow me to purchase advanced tickets or buy tickets at the theater. I emailed and messaged on Twitter, but no response. This weekend I updated the app, it the app keeps crashing. I even deleted and re-installed but that keeps decrementing my number of device logins.
Sinemia, pls fix my account.

I am very disappointed with this service. I have not been to use Sinemia all month due to app issues. When I select the movie it simply gets stuck on a loading circle. I have reached out to Sinemia’s customer service 3 times now and have had no response. Sinemia if you are reading this could you please look into my account and fix the issues that seem to be making it so that people cannot use the service that they paid for. Username markpaden

Avoid this company , they sucker you to pay a year up front, it works for the first month, but becomes unusable after that. They don't offer prorated refunds and have to do thru bank/CC to dispute charges. And absolutely no customer service

This unethical "company" is full of ambiguous fees that are barely mentioned until you've paid them. Then, once you've subscribed, you're informed that you will not be able to use the service for 1-2 weeks unless you pay them a bribe of $30. I waited the 2 weeks and the notification changed to 2-4 weeks. Support still hasn't responded to my previous question, sent 2 weeks ago. At this point I just want my money back. This company needs to be "terminated for fraud".
Their reply to this review says contact them. I've already tried that twice. Still no response.
It's been four more days. I still haven't received a single reply from Sinemia support. I would've gotten more use out of my money by burning it to roast marshmallows.
It's now April 25th. I STILL haven't received a response from this horrible company. My "cardless activation" was supposedly complete on April 17th, a month after they took my money. I cannot use the service, however, because it is crap and doesn't work. I can't do anything about it because support is also crap and doesn't work. The CEO of this company should go to prison for fraud. Seriously.

My Sinemia App doesn't allow me to book movie ticket. After selecting the Theatre, it does not proceed to the booking page. waited for long time to be solved, still the app remains un functional.
Also, updated the App for the latest version and the problem is not yet solved. Contacted the support team through twitter which isn't even acknowledged.

The app is completely unusable. For weeks now I have been unable to purchase any tickets in advance. Every attempt results in "An unknown error" when I get to the point of choosing which ticketing service I will use to purchase the ticket. I have an annual account in good standing and with my ID verified (which by itself is an unreasonable request). Anyone contemplating an account with Sinemia should expect the app to regularly fail to be usable.
