Had no issues with the delivery or service but that's where the positives end! Bought a smartphone and a tablet of them but rather than being from the UK they were from China/Hong Kong and the keyboard kept reverting back to mandarin. Claim to be from the UK but they're not! Avoid!!!

I would not touch them with a barge pole, a total con, they take your money and run.
Go somewhere else for your goods, it will save you a lot of grief.

noticed they remove most of the negative reviews as they are scared of actually answering real queries and issues.

Ordered a dishwasher on Sunday, got a phone call on Monday saying delivery Tuesday.GREAT but could not take delivery so advised Wednesday am or all day Friday would be good. Away they went, 'we'll be in touch'.....then nothing. Stayed home Wednesday am and Friday.......no delivery. Called them up up. They told me I will get an email when delivery is scheduled. Now if they would have told me on Monday that simple fact, I would NOT have expected delivery Friday and could have gone out into the Autumn sunshine!! When I called them on Friday to ask 'where is my machine' 'Customer Services' seemed to imply it was my fault for not understanding what 'we'll be in touch' meant. I forgot to mention also that in the intervening days I had sent two emails requesting a delivery date with no reply. 'We have hundreds of customers' they informed me. Not for long if you keep this up methinks.

My parents bought my camera for me through this site as there was deal going on where you could get the Canon DSLR 700D complete with 18-35mm lens, screen protector, 16GB Fast Transfer SanDisk SD Card, and lens cleaning kit all for an exceptionally good price.
Received the product with 7 working days of ordering the product. It came very well packaged with plenty of bubble wrap and air pockets to ensure the camera wouldn't get damaged in transit.
However, the screen protector was the wrong size and the lens cleaning fluid had leaked. Emailed them that evening, and got an automated reply; the only reply that was received out of all the emails that were sent to them. They did not respond to ANY emails that had been sent about the screen protector being the wrong size and the lens cleaning fluid having leaked, but as this was only a minor issue we decided to ignore it and not bother with their useless customer service any longer.

This company is a joke, but NOT funny. I ordered a mobile phone from them on 9th December 2015 to get it delivered in plenty time for some ones christmas gift. . . Long story short they sold me a product that was out of stock but lead me to believe it was in stock, after cancelling my order and telling me I will be getting a refund I'm still waiting. I've contacted them half a dozen times during the initial purchase of the item and I get the same rubbish off them, ' We have escalacted your refund to priority'

I ordered a Canon 500D from them a few years ago. The order was paid via Google Wallet which made me suspicious straight away, why would a company as big as them use a third party payment system only??
Once the order was paid, the penny began to drop with this outfit. The stock level on their website said they had 10 500Ds in stock. A week later, no camera, two weeks passed and still no sign of my camera, despite it being paid for in full.
I decided to pursue a refund as they had not fulfilled my order within a reasonable timescale. The person I spoke to told me that a refund request would take 10 working days. I was more suspicious as other companies refund you within 24 hours.
After some searching online for other customer experiences, it became clear why their service was so bad. They have/had a UK office on the Isle of Wight. All their goods come from Hong Kong and almost all their stock is warranty returns and grey imports. If you buy a grey import, your warranty is worthless in the UK and you will find that any authorised repair centre will not do any repairs for you, even if they are able to do the repair they won't.
After several weeks and a game of email tennis, I finally received my refund. Bit the bullet and paid extra for the same item at Jessops. I visited my local Jessops, requested the 500D and walked out with the camera in my hand.
If you buy a grey import you will save a considerable sum of money. But you do run the risk of being on your own if problems arise, and trading standards won't want to know about it. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra, buy from a reputable retailer and know that if any warranty issues occur, I can get the help I need to get the problem resolved.
I believe they are no longer trading, which doesn't surprise me. But I'm sure there are other similar businesses with the same model operating online.

I'm sorry to hear all the stories from other reviewers on here but in fairness, I have to say that the purchase of my Galaxy S5 in 2015 January, was one of the best purchases I have ever made be it online or via direct retail. Absolutely fabulous phone that I got at a bargain 420 Euros when the networks in Ireland were charging more than 150 Euros more minimum. I'm writing this on it now but the whole experience was flawless, they even threw in a free USB stick. It's a real shame because since they've gone, it's definitely had a spinoff effect. Pixmania, a competitor through whom I made purchases in the past have increased their prices markedly. So much so that now I'd be better off just buying in store. It's amazing how quickly a company especially in e-commerce can plummet so quickly.

I placed an order in the past, however, it was the wrong model, I had to cancel the order within minutes after check out.
Unfortunately, I thought Simply Electronics was a UK company, it was not. Google lead me to believe it was based in UK. The price was definitely cheaper than any UK competitors.
The UK number to was a call center overseas, I had to submit a ticket to cancel the order. At the end, it took a long to receive the refund money.
I won't bother buying anything from them, since it is shipped from overseas to UK, it is likely to be hit by VAT and Import Duty. Not really worth it.

I made an order for a samsung phone and nothing came for 3 months. until now I have not received my money back, and then they closed the site down. I believe alot of people have been frauded, and despite involving consumer watchdogs and police i was unable to get my money back. It seems to me they have ripped off thousands of people and its not on. Here is the parent company http://eservicesgroup.com , I found this information about them, their owners are nowan mok and alan lim and live in hongkong. email them at [email protected] and [email protected] to complain and see if any way to get money back. I'm going to keep trying. and complaining to authorities, please add any information if you have it on these fraudsters.

I paid Visa Debit and asked Barclays for a Visa Chargeback. I got my £1110 back. In my reply to the bank, I put the blame squarely on Simply Electronics and attached the notification from the liquidators that the company were $40M in debt (i.e. bankrupt). I simply wrote that Skrill were the money transfer company. I recommend everyone approach it this way. No further questions asked, full refund from Barclays.

Could anyone advise please? I bought a camera from SE December 2015.
I believed it was a UK company. When I found out the camera would not arrive on time for Christmas I requested cancellation. I didn't get the camera but they took the money.
I only realised the money had been taken when I was doing my tax return this month. Yes am rubbish with money issues.
Its too late for my bank to get the money back. Is there anything else I can do to get it back please? Thanks for all advise. It was £180.00

Put an order with Simply Electronics in August for a new phone and a few days later I noticed their website was down and the company had finished trading.
Tried getting my money back through Skrill who accepted no responsibility.
In the end I made a claim to my bank - the coop through Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and I have now received my money back in full.
Learnt my lesson now to not order through cheaper websites and I will now purchase things with my credit card so I have more protection!

Same story as others posting here. Ordered on 9th July thinking it was an UK based company.. No updates for 6 days, then to the shock of my life read the reviews (should have done before buying!). Cancelled the order and waited for the refund period of 6 days to expire and then contacted the bank. Bank said they need a refund voucher from the supplier for them to raise a charge back under 'Refund Not Received' even though I told them there was no chance of receiving it from these frauds.. Then came the liquidation notice and the bank said they can raise a charge back for liquidation. Finally got my £917 back today..Thank God.
If anyone has bought using the visa debit card, do contact your bank asap and give them the liquidation notice. They should be able to raise a charge back for company under liquidation.
Could have been a very expensive mistake.. Will make sure this does not happen in life again..Lesson well learnt! Buyer be always aware...

I bought a Samsung Galaxy phone for my daughter last year from Simply Electronics and it developed a fault. I returned it to SE for repair under warranty after going through their (long winded) returns process. Now they've disappeared and my phone with them. I have no address except the forwarding company in Aylesbury and their email address. Can anybody help?

I bought a Canon 5D mark iii camera body. The price of the item is really good almost cheapest in the market. But the customer service is not so good. On the purchase it said item will be deliverexpected in 7 -10 working days. 10 working days I think more than enough for anything to be delivered anywhere around the world. It wasn't deliverEd on the 10th day. I called the customer service and they said that the item coming from China and I have to pay custom tax to get the item release. I wasn't notified before the purchase or any time in between. I had call and find out that I had to pay custom tax. After I paid the tax it still took Them another 5 working days to deliver when item was here. They almost made me loose a contract. They also try to charge me restocking fee when I told them I want a full refund if the item is not delivered within certain date.
If anyone want to purchase anything I suggest call them and clear your terms beforehand.

Very very very very frustrating experience. I and my friend ordered from this site ignoring all the bad reviews. Its been so frustrating and biggest waste of time. After twenty days of ordering when i asked them where my order is they said they can't confirm how long it will take. What a great answer, so it can take a week, a month, a year, ten years, hundred years they don't know. How can you run a business if you don't know when you will be able to deliver. Why put on Website 4 to 10 days. I did not wanted to wait any longer so cancelled the order. Its already been ten days and have not received the refund yet. I have been without phone for a month and can't but another one unit l get the refund. Its been a very frustrating experience and total waste of time. My friend decided to wait for her order, it's been a month and status of her order says contact us, seriously unbelievable. Don't make a mistake of buying from them. Whenever my friend contacted then she got standard copy paste reply. I bet when a simply electronics leaves a reply on my review it would be again a copy paste reply just like other replies. They won't even bother to read the review, one star, ok copy and paste this. I seriously believe that the people who claim they have ordered twice / thrice and received the order on time are fake reviews by the company itself. When me and my friend placed the order it said phones were in stock then why it took so long, this is a scam. Don't repeat my mistake don't waste your time and money on then.

Reading through a few of these posts, it appears I am another victim. I won't bore you with the finer details but made an order for a tablet, they took £432.95, I hadn't received the item after 6 weeks and 8 emails, they then told me it was out of stock and I would be refunded, 8 emails chasing the refund later, I get the notice of administration.
Unfortunately, I used my VISA Debit Card meaning I am not covered. I cannot believe that in this day in age, such a fraudulent company can be set up and exist, robbing the honest people of this world of their hard-earned money. I'm not experienced in this type of thing but surely there is some sort of petition or lawsuit that can be originated to get the criminals that set this company up, brought to justice and the monies rightfully returned to their victims?

I am still waiting on an order I have placed on the Galaxy s7 edge and Gear VR combo. I had ordered it on 21/6/16 it is now a month later and like with other I have not received my products.
I have called customer services and have had the standard response "we have had a lot of order, and will dispatch it early next week" - I was told this last week when I called. At this time scale I could have built both products myself.
Do not risk your money, there are other sites where you will pay about £30 more for the same combination and actually get it (As it stands, I have so far paid over £500 for nothing)

I have wrote a review on these crooks before and looks like thousands of people can't be wrong about them, they have closed their main page and it's about time, we have all been worried sick about where our money was going, nothing happening about "orders". I am so happy they are lay to rest, I don't expect they had ANY stock whatsoever, even as much as a warehouse, I suspect they were men in suits in an internet café on laptops designing the fraudulent website sipping coffee and just wanted to rob people by selling us a façade of getting a phone or camera that you wanted or needed. but extremely fast in taking your money before anything arrived (if it ever did) it took me a whole 3 weeks and still nothing, I wasn't prepared to wait any longer, I was suspicious by the second week. In my case I bought a Samsung A5 but I didn't actually get one from these criminals, I got it from the tried and tested Amazon. A plethora of fake, generic, unemotional emails followed when I finally confronted them, it was just a joke. a bad joke. and I was just trying to get some progress and feedback on my order status so then I tried the phone number and could never get through, spent half an hour waiting patiently, to discover it was bogus (same "busy line" at any time of the day or night, I got up at random times to test this theory), it never worked, that's when alarm bells went off in my head. The whole process was an absolute nightmare and very glad they are not trading anymore, if they ever did? I fully suspect the 5 star reviews are coming from employees or people paid to review. there was definitely corruption going on. regardless, now it is all laid bare the page shutdown either they got caught or went bankrupt i don't know but what i do know is the words SimplyElectronics will send shivers down spines for a generation. I did however get a refund from Skrill a few months ago for my order but it took way too long. it taught me a lesson and it should teach you one too - pay extra and go with trusted, popular websites. ALWAYS check reviews because thousands of people all saying the same thing can't be wrong. when you don't is when you will be duped. if there is more bad reviews than good then it's probably a bad company or product. Very glad to see them go under and hope they don't start under a different name to do the same thing again. It makes me extremely happy to see the end of that abyss of a website. Looks like they are not replying anymore with more generic "sorry for the inconvenience caused" No, more like sorry I didn't get to find out who these people are.

Tried to purchase a Samsung s7 on the 24th June. Item did not arrive regardless of numerous emails. I got an email stating that they and a company called venture direct had gone into liquidation. Venture direct are still operating on google regardless of this. Disgusting company and complete scam. Do not be drawn in with the cheap prices that are nothing but a scam company. Finally managed to get my money back with a visa charge back.
