I'm not super handy so Simplisafe was last on my list. The former owner had ADT so I started there. But after having ADT come over and give me a hard sell on expensive monitoring justifying their crap tech, I'm glad I kicked them to the curb. I looked at Xfinity, the new Ring system and Amazon's newest offering which ended up not being available in my area. Then I found Simplisafe, and they have a full money back guarantee so it felt like much less of a risk to give it a try. It was as easy to install as they promised. The hardest thing you would have to do is use a drill and anchors for the smoke alarms, everything else just uses good adhesive. The latest system covers everything I need, including smoke alarms, CO2, water leaks, pipes freezing, and it connects to my Nest thermostat which is great because it will automatically raise the temperature if detects below 40 degrees in the house, and if the CO2 alarm goes off, it will shut off the furnace. Which is great because I might not see a notification in time. Their cameras work well too, and they also have a doorbell cam, so you can have everything in one app. Good privacy settings and features on the camera as well. I'm impressed at how well thought out the entire product family is, and after a month of use I remain very glad I ended up going with them. I'll be sure to come back and amend this should anything change.

SimpliSafe caved to the pc crap that the NRA is responsible for school shootings. I don’t do business with pC companies.

Equipment is buggy, and the app is very limited. When I built out the system, the rep was very unhelpful so I just built it out online.

Tried this system for 3 months. I don't like the whole "do it yourself". Install it yourself, monitory it yourself, program it yourself, and trouble shoot it yourself. I would call simplisafe and it cost $75 per hour to have them send 3rd party tech to trouble shoot my system. The hub tower went out many times, and customer support would tell me to move it to the window so thieves could easily see it. Too many "no line to dispatch": errors making the system useless. If you want cheap, then get a DIY system. It's not going to secure your home or family, because you have to do it yourself. I want a company that i can blame when something goes wrong. I had many issues with simplisafe, and they told me "well, you installed it yourself. Do you know how? do you know anything about security systems and programming?" Dumped this company, went with Vivint and it got worse
