When we first got the system up and running, things were good. But over time the software has developed more and more glitches. From cash drawer not opening when cashing out, tablets not syncing with each other, not being able to close out credit cards, save a tab and it brings you back to a blank screen, ghost tabs stuck on other tablets, and on & on. Overall it is a good system, but it makes it hard on me to constantly have to problem solve.

I have worked in the hospitality and retail business for almost 30 years. The ShopKeep POS system has been the most thorough and easy to use system I have worked with. The customer service is above all others with access to assistance at anytime of the day, night and weekend. I have very little free time to sit at the computer and work out details to troubleshoot issues, and anytime I have needed help, someone is available and patient enough to get the problem solved and answer questions promptly and professionally.

DON'T DO IT!
I was told by ShopKeeps customer service that when I was ready, they would send me my equipment, and then charge me the monthly "contract" fee for the service AFTER I received my equipment. I have been charged every month since February and NO EQUIPMENT and when I call to discuss this or to get a credit. Because I was not ready for my equipment until a month ago. There is "nothing they can do" No credit, No help nothing. I would not sign up with this company. Unless you want to be charged every month for having nothing and no help from management or customer service.

i cant begin to describe the venom and seething hatred i have for this company. we have 3 business with this rotten company. One where we have been customers for almost 6 years. 6 GODDAMN LOYAL YEARS. 4 years with our second location. In all the years, at BOTH locations we have had an array of issues. Gateway errors when processing credit cards, card swiper not working, chip not working, having to manually enter cards, swiper auto resetting randomly and on and on.
But for the most part because our 2 business were low level maybe 20-30 customers all day there wasnt enough volume to care that much when we had to enter a card manaully or there system went down which was almost on a daily basis. When we called we were told " its an network issue" apparently our 2 business LOCATED at 2 different locations with 2 DIFFERENT INTERNET COMPANIES where we run MMORPGS just on the backend computers. apparently cant handle the 2 bytes of data that shopkeep sends to process a credit card so they breakdown. But of course when you call its a network error.
But we put up with it and said the devil you know is better then the devil u dont. So we set this up for our restaurant.. wow.. i cant even begin to describe.. FROM DAY ONE they wouldn't give us a 500 dollar referral for new customers since my partner wasn't considered new since i was also on there as well. EVEN IT WAS ME that recommended him that we sign up for shop keep. But on technicality of me personally not being a new customer i wasn't given the referral. Then 900 dollars later and kitchen printer, and wooden stand, and register, and card swiper we were ready for business. except.. no.. kitchen printer would print one order and not another one. Customer would come to get hes food and we would have NO record of him ordering from the kitchen printer. called shopkeep. told its network issue.. mind you this is the 3rd business with 3rd different internet company but its our "internet" not there crappy bluetooth pos/software connectivity. so kitchen printer doesnt work, so i write the orders by hand. Then we get a line of people trying to order food on a busy Friday. Swiper goes down, now i have to manually enter each card.. to the dismay of 10 people in line. Then the shopkeep software suddenly freezes, then when it comes back after processing a card it gives me a gateway error, so i click on retry, it goes thru.. thank god, i can make the food and get paid for it.. 3 weeks later, in the mail we charged the customer twice as we receive a charge back letter for continuously double charging customers. then the next day while customers come in to try apple pay, doesnt work, use the chip, doesnt work, use the new feature people have on there phones where they use the credit card to on there phone to process the payment, this glitches our system and everything freezes..
then i start calling like crazy, begging to get something that works, its a network issue they tell me. you have to schedule a a call back with a manager, i do that.. the manager calls me, tells me he cant do anything he has to talk to HES manager. BUT he know situation and will take care of me.. he promised he called back the next day.. 24 hours go by, 48 hours, 72 hours.. 1 week later, NOTHING.. i start a chat with shopkeep on the backend hoping to get an answer what happend. the chat rep tells me, cory doesnt have a direct contact, and that hes not in the office but hell pass off my notes.. basically NOTHING is done, i have NO WORKING system after being on 3 different business for almost 6 years, spending 900 dollars JUST on the recent hardware purchase. now im just desperate waiting on cory to call me, hoping for anything at this point just so i can run my business. i truly wish they had a way of putting zero stars.. LIKE I WOULD CLICK ON THE ZERO TILL MY FINGERS WOULD BLEED. this is how much disdain and anger i have towards this crap hole of a rotten company. btw I'm writing this at 11 pm after doing a 15 hour shift at a restaurant im so god awful tired, but my anger to leave this review literally moves the lasttired nerve cells in my body to be able to type this out. i hate this company and I'm cancelling ALL 3 of my business the first chance i sign up with someone that i know can step in and fullfill the role. meanwhile the first manager i called "cory" still hasnt called me back to give me an answer on a clover system when he said he would call me back the next day. its been a week.. like truly truly F this place. thats how much contempt i have for this company.

I have used ShopKeep for nearly a year. I had used Quickbooks prior for seven years. Their product kept going up and up and needed to be replaced every 3 years to get aid from their support group. ShopKeep has been easy to use, took less time to learn and impresses my customers daily. I highly recommend working with the ShopKeep group for your cash register and inventory needs. It also works with my own credit card processing company.

I have been using shopkeep for the past 4 years for two shops. They then informed me they were jacking up their prices considerably, bearing in mind they are already pricy compared to many others. I told them I wanted to cancel one now, and the other the following month. They cancelled the first one as requested, and then I suddenly noticed the second account was still charging me 2 months after I cancelled it. The response I got was ‘you have to deactivate’ well interesting that as the first account they managed just fine to cancel for me. They then said I haven't spoken to them, I forwarded 3 emails proving I had said to go ahead and cancel. I couldn’t ‘deactivate’ anyway as the two accounts are linked, and the minute we terminated the first account the second was unusable and apparently terminated anyway. So basically I paid for the month I couldn’t use it, and now two more. An absolute joke. I’m really dissapppinted

Shopkeep wasn't our first POS System, but it's our last! It's so great having friendly customer support always available.
The program is up to date, with a beautiful & colorful cash register system. (one we recently had was very dated & used 3 colors!) Easy to help customers & get them quickly checked out. Super easy to add inventory. I really could go on & on.
If you're considering Shopkeep for your business, I am completely confident there's no better choice out there!

When I opened my boutique 2 1/2 years ago, I started with a different POS. Six short months into it, I couldn't deal with the issues that was having. I switched to my original 2nd choice (Shopkeep) and have never looked back. I have had Shopkeep POS for almost 2 years. The customer service is incredible and the system is easy to use. I highly recommend it. So far it has been the perfect system for my small boutique. Love the inventory tracking and the reporting!!

From day one we've had issues with their hardware on our network. The printers fall off, the credit card processor falls off, the credit card processor won't accept chips sometimes, forcing us to do manual entries (extra $). Back office is inadequate for raw goods reporting, so you can't keep track of how much of a raw good you've used. The mobile back office has hardly any functionality at all now. You can't update/add/delete any items. Recently Shopkeep has been printing duplicate tickets to our kitchen printer, but only when a credit card is used for payment. Support forced me to repeat the simple troubleshooting steps multiple times, attempting to tell me it was a network issue on my end. Finally on the 3rd day of trying they told me other users had been having the same issue. At this point they told me my issue had been "escalated," but after a week and a half I have not heard from them. Customer service/support does not communicate with each other, and they are not trained in how to escalate issues. It is entirely up to the customer to follow-up; this was explicitly told to me in a phone call with customer service.
Overall this system has been extremely difficult to work with and their support has been very poor.

Shopkeep has been great since 2015! From their customer service to their analytics to their phone app. Might have minor glitches here or there, but rarely and they're usually fixed with the next update.

We are very pleased with Shopkeep POS and the ongoing updates, new features and ease of use. We are a small bakery with 2 store fronts, we rely heavily on our POS always being available, flexible and easy to use. I have had Shopkeep POS since I opened my shop four years ago. We now also use it in our coffee shop of two years. The customer service just can't be beat and the system is very intuitive. My employees easily learn to use it. I would highly recommend it to anyone. I have referred shop owner friends of mine to this POS several times. I love the way it helps with tracking inventory. Just perfect for my shop.

Turell was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was helpful, informative, and extremely patient with all of my questions. Stay away. They do not stand behind their products. We lost the use of our receipt printer and cash drawer after less than two years and they refuse to assist with replacement.
We paid $525 for a yearly subscription, with NO CONTRACT, on March 28, 2019. We closed our store and attempted to receive a refund of the unused subscription on June 24, 2019 and they refuse to refund any money.
This company is ANTI SMALL BUSINESS. Steer clear. We had so many problems with their software over the years. Always tried to blame our internet (200Mbps) or tried to blame that we had too much inventory even though they advertise unlimited inventory.
Everytime there were hardware issues all they would do is tell us to buy new hardware.

Please Beware! We have had the system for about a year now. They have yet to get us live because of technical issues with their card swipers integrating with our new ipads that they had us purchase. They have been charging us $1500.00 a year, even though we have not put through one transaction. They have repeatedly told me that they HAVE to charge us that.. and they have no choice. They certainly have a choice here, and they chose the bad choice.
