I had brain surgery and was left paralyzed. The trip for followups took about 2 hours. On the way home we stopped at Shoney's. I was in a wheelchair. We ate our food and were preparing to leave. My spouse parked my chair across from the checkout counter and he went to use the facilities. A young lady came out and asked if she could help and I told her he went to the bathroom and would be right out. She went in the back and I heard them talking about the lady in the chair sitting out there. She said she thought we might be trying to steal something. A guy came out and asked if he could help me, I again told him I was waiting on my husband. He went back and loudly announced that something wasn't right with the crippled old bag. This was off the interstate in Sevierville, TN. He came out, we paid and left. I immediately contacted the store manager and corporate, who said they would take care of it...we never heard back and have not been back.
