Meeting as Starbucks was weird. Should have at least given me the heads up. When the Shift rep didn't have a Shift ID (or a driver's license), that was even weirder (especially since she drove the car.) Finally, getting the payment 4 days later was nerve racking.

Truly five star auto buying experience. Vehicle advertised on another site, they honored the price on Shift.com. Chris provided excellent communication and followed up with Carfax, 160 point inspection report and the out the door price. Also, received $100 credit for test drive and $100 credit for buying same day. Andrew delivered vehicle to location close to my home inspected vehicle completed documents in a timely manor. After dealing with those car lots and the stories, my wife and I were pleased to deal with integrity, honesty and real customer care. Exceptional car buying experience. We carefully looked over and test drove the 2013 Carmaro Convertible and it was exactly as described in the add! The car was in mint condition and our representative (Dee) was very kind and fun with no pressure to buy. The car was priced very competitively and was the best deal even compared to private party dealers selling the same Camaro with similar miles and year. We LOVED the SHIFT experience and will definitely look at them again if we purchase another vehicle in the future! They were very transparent with their 150 point inspection, sent us the full report in addition to the car fax, and took pictures and sent them to us of the minor scratches on the vehicle before we came to see it in person. We knew exactly what to expect before we saw the car. I would recommend SHIFT to anyone looking to buy a car. This experience was much better than going to a dealership and their price was better than private party in our experience. Thank you SHIFT for making buying our Camaro a fun and unforgettable experience!

Overall, we are happy with our car purchase through Shift. Before our scheduled test drive, we received a few too many emails, voice calls and text messages confirming our appointment. It would’ve been nice knowing that our test drive location was a Starbucks. We walked around the building looking for a Shift office and found out later they don’t have one, except in San Francisco. Our sales agent Adam was easy going and helpful. The process initiating an ACH payment was slow and cumbersome. The sales agent Diane was too pushy trying to sell us an after market warranty for the car. That was annoying. We like our car and really appreciated the 10 pg inspection summary we received before seeing it in person.

Everything was good only gap I faced was the lack of information of the processes, it was my first time to apply for finance from Shift after running the credit report I got an approved of very high rate, so I had to leave but no one told me to wait to see other approved rates from different bank. After I left got a call from sales team then they told me about the better rate approval so I had to come back again to pick up the car and my Same day bonus was waived off.😒

This was the easiest car buying experience ever! I test drove several cars at various traditional dealerships. I knew what I wanted and found the car with exceptionally low mileage in perfect condition. Dee arrived for our test drive right on time. We drove and explored the car. She was knowledgeable and had access to online resources to answer all of our questions. The paperwork was completed at our kitchen table. Start to finish, the car was ours in 3 hours. Amazing!

We finally bought our car after a week of scheduling three test drives. We couldn’t buy our first choice due to the lack of paperwork that they didn’t inform us that we needed. That car sold the next day. We put a $250 deposit on the next car and that one got in a wreck. They told us they would need a few days to fix. So we got tired and bought the third choice. We did get our deposit back next three days. Overall average but good prices for their vehicles.

I reserved a car I found online and paid $250 to reserve it so they would hold it until my test drive. On the day of the test drive, I drove 3 hours (6 hour round trip) to Portland, where the car was supposed to be, but got a message exactly one hour before the test drive to tell me that they messed up on the car shipping and the test drive was cancelled.
When I asked why they couldn't have told me a day ahead of time and not waste my whole day driving, they just made a bunch of excuses. They ended up offering me a lame apology and a discount on their ripoff extended warranty I never wanted in the first place.
I'm kind of glad the deal fell through, because given how incompetent they are at the basics of scheduling a test drive, I have very little faith in their mechanical inspections of the vehicles or anything else. I see no advantage of using them over any other dealership. Don't waste your time.

Sketchy!! Good car but shady stuff going on.
Car seems to be great, but I am an ex mechanic and checked it out well. Had to wait 6 hours after test drive to get an appointment to purchase car. We test drove then checked out some other cars then decided on this car and said we were on our way to purchase, they said we had to wait for next appointment 6 hours away. Wow, sales 101: never turn away a paying customer and give them time to reconsider!! Crazy, I said no but my daughter was in love with the car. Now for the inspection report, bad bad bad bad.
Headliner "in good shape" it is actually falling down.
Trunk Factory tool kit "operational and in good cond." it is actually missing!
Cabin air filter "in good cond." LOL it is actually incredibly dirty and full of leaves and debris.
Engine oil "in good cond." it is actually at 20% and very black. They said if oil was at 50% or less it would be replaced.

Shift is AWFUL. After 2.5 weeks filling out paper work, getting the car on my insurance, sending a check from my credit union, etc. etc, Shift sold my car to another buyer. They CASHED MY CHECK and then SOLD THE CAR TO ANOTHER BUYER. I was picking the car up tomorrow when someone called to tell me the car was sold because they "forgot to move it to the sold list." They were mildly apologetic, but offered no real solution. This is FRAUD. DO NOT WORK WITH SHIFT. Their employees need serious training and the system is whack.

Used their online estimate to sell my car to shift.com. I was very transparent, honest and fair about the condition of my 2011 Mazda CX7 Grand Touring with 92K miles on it. Good condition, some minor scratches. Nothing untrue. Typical average vehicle. They provided an estimate of $6700 plus $100 for having all paperwork available. Seemed fair, maybe a bit generous. Scheduled the inspection appointment...inspector came back with an offer of only $4600!!!!! $2100 LESS!!!! Unbelievable...And lower than offers I've already received from other companies in the area (Carvana and CarMax).
Unbelievable...dishonest and/or a very bad estimate system. Inspector told me the automated system gives the highest, best-case offer...even though I gave an accurate condition description. He also mentioned it's common for the final offer to be significantly below the "teaser". I recommend not even wasting your time with these crooks.

Shift beat all interested buyers for my pristine 2013 Avalon hybrid with 62000 miles on it. Very satisfied with the entire deal from first email to delivery of the final check just 3 business days after signing it over to them. Tried dealers, Carfax and Shift and was happy with the results from Shift. Douglas was an efficient, courteous and professional person to work with. I recommend Shift if you want to sell a vehicle for a fair and reasonable price.
