Sears has taken advantage of millions of shoppers and homeowners. The fact that they are still conducting business is a example of our Country's tolerance for manipulation of the justice system. At the age of 55 we are out $360,000 due to fraudulent activity by Sears and have been included in their Chapter 11. THE DISGUST ME and I will spend the rest of my days rallying for the boycott of Sears.

We ordered a washer and dryer on 7/5 and we received an email saying they would deliver the items on 7/8 between 2pm & 4pm. They left a message around 1pm on 7/8 to say they could not deliver the items today and that we needed to call to reschedule. So my wife called and sat on hold for 1/2 hour and then had to hang up to go back to work. I called and was on hold for one hour when they hung up on me. I got on a live chat which the person started to help me and realized that the delivery team needed to be a part of the chat. I waited for 10 minutes with no response. This is the worse experience I have ever had and again I'm sitting on hold trying to reschedule for over ten minutes so far.

Bought dining table from sears online which is sold by 3rd party seller. Before I make a purchase Spoke with representative regarding shipping details.I was told this if you don't satisfy with the item, it is eligible for free returns.
After I received item I Don't like the quality for what I have paid which around 600 bucks. I wanted to return, after I made so many chats and so many customer service calls, finally they said sorry for the wrong information provided, this time you need pay for shipping charge, which is most costly than purchase cost :(

Fridge broke on 23 May, repairman came a week later to see what the issue was, he then ordered the parts needed to fix the fridge but told me he would not be available until Jun 11. On Jun 11, I took the day off to wait for the repairman to arrive,he never showed up didn't call or email saying he overbooked himself instead he rescheduled me for Jun 21. He arrives on Jun 21 to say he ordered the wrong compressor model by now its 31 days without a working fridge. The new date the repairman would be coming back to fix the fridge was Jul 2. So I'm very disgruntled, angry, pissed off at the customer service Sears and their third party repair service (A & E Factory services) has provided me. This is beyond unacceptable professionalism for a conglomerate company. Never again will I purchase appliances with a warranty from Sears due to the poor management of emergency tickets and poor customer service. In addition you can only claim $300 worth of food that has gone bad due to a broken fridge and the protection plan does not assist with helping you replace a fridge due to the incompetence of the company that assigns the repairman to go out to service your appliance. I hope no one else has to go through what I went through to finally get a working fridge.

Sears.com is the worst and their leasing program. I ordered a stove that was delivered. The stove was not what I wanted, so I returned it. I made an initial payment that was supposed to be returned to me , so that I could order the correct one. They applied my refund to the delivery of the stove I did not want, instead of refunding to me. I will purchase a stove elsewhere now.

I bought this refrigerator based primarily on the fact that my current one was 18 years old (never once had a problem) and it seemed like the appropriate time. At first, I was really happy with the unit. I liked the bottom freezer and the ease of getting items from the top refrigerator area. Then, yesterday, I opened the bottom freezer and found everything defrosted. I'm not sure how long it had been off, but even the ice cubes had completely melted. Then the fun began. I called for service. It took forty five minutes for an agent to answer; then I spent another 50 minutes talking to three different customer service agents to finally get the assurance that some one would be here in two days. I thought that was as good as it could get, so I agreed. I was reasonably happy. Not for long. In the morning I received an email saying that Sears needed to reschedule my appointment and to call the 800 number listed. I did. After waiting forty minutes for an agent, I was told that I had been reschedule for a later date. The date was 15 days later than the original date. Imagine, I have a new refrigerator and I cannot use it for 15 more days!! I then asked to speak to someone who could do better. To make it short, I spoke to two more agents ( forty more minutes), the last of which said she would transfer me to "Customer Solutions". I said OK. Then I was disconnected. All that time for nothing. I will not buy Sears again. No wonder they have financial problems. Do not buy this item or possibly any from Sears. (I will put in another review when (if) my refrigerator is repaired.)
Update: After the Tech. replaced "critical" parts twelve days later, the problem occurred again This week.. The refrigerator just shut down and everything defrosted. I called customer service and, surprisingly got through in 25 minutes. After I told them about my problem, they indicated that a service tech would be to my home 42 days later!!! No pleading on my part could change the date. I have a protection plan and have filed for a reimbursement for the spoiled food. Fortunately, I was able to get the refrigerator running again by unplugging it and the plugging it again, i am not sure how long it will run, but i will keep a close eye on it and wait (I have not choice) the 42 days for service. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM SEARS AGAIN!

We have had a home maintenance contract with Sears (the one that closed) since 1968. We purchase all our appliances there and for years, when something goes wrong, the either fix or replace it. We have been a faithful customer for 51 years.
Now that this new company is taking over, they are NOT honoring their contracts as previously. Last year the repair person tried to get them to replace my 26 year old Kenmore Refrigerator because the door inside cover where the Shelves hang on widened...thus the shelves won't stay on the door. I even took pictures of the broken groceries that have happened numerous times when I got tired of cleaning up messes. They would NOT replace. We again, of course, purchased the $900 yearly contract again and this year the door on the ice maker broke which makes the cubes getting air everytime you open the freezer and they stick together...They would NOT replace. Stupidly I've purchased it again for the 2019-2020 year because I can't afford it if one of the other products don't work. They were suppose to call me back because they said I had to bring in my dehumidifier in to the shop - WELL there is NO shop anymore and they couldn't find a repair shop locally. They said they'd call me back when they found one - well the thing isn't working and needs repair. So I will be calling them again and asking them where my shop is - it keeps blowing the circuit breaker. Wonder what will happen to this one. So beware of the new company running Sears. They still have their maintenance and fortunately the home stores are still around - they are wonderful - now but may be taken under the umbrella of the new company. UGH....So If there was a way to put NO STAR, I would have seeing how they treat a faithful customer.

I called to talk to someone regarding reimbursement for my weekly trips to the laundromat and was meet with 1 hour and 10 minutes on a call and only only to find out they would have been paying for a washer rental!!!!

Friday to confirm delivery Sat was called and spoke to agent confirming delivery. Sunday another call with a two hour window delivery 12:45 to 2:45. I took the day off. I received a call that they do not have the item in stock. Really sad to see what Sears has become .

I will never, EVER shop at Sears again. This company used to be people that I trusted. All my clothes came from sears when I was a child. My mom used to work at Sears when I was a teenager. When I married, we got our furniture and all of our appliances at Sears. But no more. This place has become a giant scam machine. They lie, cheat, and steal from their customers and they don't care at all.
For the past 12 years, I have tried to hang on and keep sending them my business, even though the hideous erosion of their quality and customer service has been obvious. Their Master Protection Plans and warranty service have been a joke for years. But my latest experience with Sears has been the VERY. LAST. STRAW. Never, ever again.
About 12 weeks ago, I purchased a trash compactor from Sears. The sales person assured me that all Sears trash compactors were the same size and that the new one would fit into the same space as the old one. I paid for installation service - not just delivery. When the delivered the unit, the so-called "installers" simply plugged it in, crammed the new compactor into a space that was too small, and left. They damaged my cabinets, failed to level it, and didn't secure it with hardware.
Within a month, I noticed that it was sitting crooked and has worked its way forward out of the cabinet space. I was having trouble unlatching it to remove old trash. I was having trouble getting it latched again when the new bag was installed. Sometimes the motor wouldn't engage when I turned it on.
FINALLY, the compressor plate simply FELL OUT OF THE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!!
So I called the Sears Warranty Department and arranged for someone to come out and repair my compactor. I arranged to be home when he came.
On the day of the repair, someone showed up on my doorstep and proceeded to inspect the trash compactor. I pointed out the damage to my cabinets and showed him the part that had fallen out. He took some photos, and then, HE ATTACHED THE COMPRESSOR PLATE TO THE BACK OF THE COMPACTOR AND CLAIMED IT WAS "FIXED".
Just to be clear, the compressor plate is an INTERNAL part. It doesn't belong attached to the exterior of the compactor. It is a working part and without it, the compactor will not operate. This man simply attached it to the outside of the compactor and said he had fixed it.
When I told him that it didn't belong on the outside of the compactor, he gave me a blank look. Then I asked him if he knew what the part was and he admitted that he didn't know what a compactor plate was. I doubt that he had ever even seen a trash compactor, let alone be qualified to fix one.
Once I showed him where the compression plate went inside the machine, he realized that the interior of the trash compactor was warped and bent out of shape. He said it looked like it had been dropped in the warehouse and that it was not repairable.
He said he was going to "escalate" the situation and that someone from Sears would call me about a replacement. It has now been 8 days and no one has called.
I have tried to call Sears about this, but I don't get any response. Every number I call says that I have the wrong department. When they try to transfer me, I get cut off. I've tried to call the warranty department, but they say I need to call Escalations Customer Solutions. When I called Escalations Customer Solutions, I waited on hold for a full hour and then my line clicked and I was cut off. I tried to call the manager of the store where I purchased the machine but that was an answering machine where calls are not returned. I tried to call Sedgewick Delivery Damage (who handles these cases for Sears. They took my information and said they would call back. They never did.
I have tried everything I know, but it seems like there is no response from Sears at all. They apparently have NO INTENTION OF EITHER REPAIRING, REPLACING, OR REFUNDING this lemon of an appliance.
This isn't the first time I've had trouble with Sears Warranty Department, but this will be the last. I am trashing this compactor and having Home Depot install a cabinet in its place. I'm super sick of dealing with Sears and it is worth the loss of the $1000.00 I spent on this piece of garbage.
Sears is crooked. My only recourse would be to sue them and that would cost more than I lost. That is what they are counting on. No wonder they are struggling to stay in business. All I can do is warn others to avoid them at all costs.

I purchased a washer and dryer. They delivered and installed them, albeit ten days later. The dryer did not work. They told me to flip the breaker. The dryer still did not work. They said they would repair it, and I said I had paid for a new dryer, not a refurbished dryer, and I wanted it replaced. They said their policy does not allow for that, even though the dryer never worked from the moment it was installed. After asking to speak to the store manager on three separate occasions, speaking to many (I think it was seven different people) in "Customer Solutions", speaking to at least as many from the "Delivery Team", and after my aunt spent two hours of her time talking to them (because I was so disgusted), I requested a full refund and pick-up of the unusable machines. Eventually two guys in a rental truck who do not actually work for Sears picked up both the washer and dryer, but still, over a month after the initial purchase, I have not received a refund. I am beyond disappointed.

I ordered a special size window air conditioner from Sears.com on 9-11 with a delivery date of 9-23 (must have been shipped from China). It was to be delivered to my local Sears. It cost $269 + tax.
On 9-24, I still hadn't gotten a delivery notice. After 2 hours on the phone hunting for my AC, I got 3 different responses. 1: order was cancelled cue to out of stock, status unknown with a 72 hour resolution and order had been delivered to the store.
I went to the store and punched my order into the pickup computer and it said QTY:0. The warehouse team looked for and found the item delivered. They told me the wrong model was sent. It was the same physical size but instead of 6000 BTU it was was 10,000 BTU with a price of $399. I balked at their mistake but the best deal the manager could give was $50 off. I spent 2 more hours on the phone trying to get Sears to release the unit to me but met the bureaucratic wall of store policy. Even though I really needed the unit, the best they could offer was to cancel my order and try again. Maybe in 2 more weeks, I might get the right unit.
Because I was in time crunch, I went back to pay the extra $80 and was shocked to find the actual price was $499 and I had to pay an extra $180. If I hadn't made a promise to my tenant, I would have cancelled the order but whose to say that Sears could get it right the second time. I am not surprised to see that Sears is dying as a company with roots of incompetence and ineptitude buried deep in its bureaucracy

Bought a kenmore refrigerator about 4 years ago. Worked well until about 2 years ago. The temperature wouldn’t go down so we called the warranty service to have it looked at. We paid for the extended warranty service twice. Compressor was bad. Then we had it serviced 8, yes 8 more times. Avoid kenmore refrigerators they are awful. Sears home warranty and sears corporation are NOT on the same page. My wife went through hell and back communicating with both of them and they would NEVER say the same thing. This is besides the fact that she was on hold for hours! Sears has gone down the tubes and will do absolutely anything to avoid giving you a new product if you have the extended warranty. The inconvenience this company has caused me and my family with not providing us a new fridge after clearly noting that the fridge was inoperable is beyond words for me.

I purchased a treadmill on Sears.com that stated it was a commercial treadmill that had been $8000. This sounded right for a commercial treadmill. I got it on sale and was willing to pay the heavy weight shipping for such a bargain. First the treadmill was ship to the other side of the country, and there was a month of waiting on it to arrive. Once it arrived, it was not a commercial treadmill, it was an all plastic treadmill that is being sold on Ebay for $39.00. I have contacted Sears.com Chat website to resolve the issue and they have stated 7 times, they will refund my money and resolve the issue. I have yet to see a single penny. The "Third Party Seller" which I was not aware of at the time of the sale, has refused to settle the dispute and says I got what I purchased, said and done." Buyer Beware" any item stating it has an original or list price higher than 10% of the advertised price is a scam. Sears does not care. They are in it for the almighty buck. I have reported this to Paypal as deceptive sales and not receiving what the description said, and I have also reported to the Federal Trade Commission. If you have had the same experience, I would encourage you to do the same,by contacting the Federal Trade Commission, filing a complaint, and hopefully, the FTC will set an example by investigating Sears thoroughly, and these types of sale practices will be prevented in the future.

I bought a new Kenmore water heater from Sears for $352. It came with a 1 year warranty covering everything and a 6 year warranty on, "all water heater parts are warranted against defects in material or workmanship." It went on to say that only the parts were replaced for free, not the labor.
Just over 2 years after purchase, the water heater quit heating. My husband opened it up and could see that the heating element and thermostat were trashed. They were completely corroded and obviously not working. I called about replacement parts. I was told that they had to send a Sears repairman out to verify the need for parts even though I offered to send them pictures of the corroded parts. I specifically asked if there would be a charge for that. I was told there would not be. I said I just wanted the replacement parts that should be provided free by the warranty and that my husband would do the labor and we would not pay anything. I was told there wouldn't be a charge.
The Sears repairman came and saw that the heating element and thermostat were trashed and said that he would order the replacement parts for us and that we owed $99 for that visit and would then owe another $99 when he came to put in the new parts. (This for a water heater that cost $352 brand new.) We told him to just have the parts sent to our house and we would install them. He said he couldn't do that. He left us with the bill for $99 for his diagnosis of the problem.
I spent 4 hours on the phone with Sears trying to get them to send us the replacement parts that the Sears repairman had verified were defective since in his words, they should never have gone bad in this short of a time span. They just kept saying that wasn't there policy. They only provided parts if we paid their repairman to put them in. Since the parts themselves cost much less than the $99 labor repair costs, we bought them and installed them ourselves.
This is a huge scam by Sears and Kenmore to supposedly provide a warranty on parts that is dependent on paying them to install the parts at their exorbitant repair costs. (This job took less than 15 minutes to do.)
It is no wonder Sears is going out of business with terrible customer service like this. I will never shop Sears again. It wasn't always like this. Sears used to be a company you could rely on.
I got specifically bad assistance from Stella in the repair department phone lines who was in the Philippines taking my call. Tatiana who is a supervisor in the Sears Heating and Cooling department was particularly rude and dismissive and had no understanding of logic or what a warranty actually means as she kept insisting that the Sears "policy" superseded the written warranty provided with the water heater and still existing online. Her manager, France, was equally unhelpful and insolent.

Called Sears for help on a Fridge I purchased a few years ago. I called 800 469 4663. 1st agent I couldn’t understand at all and she hung up on me. Called back and I could barely understand 2nd agent but she wasn’t helpful at all. I Asked for Supervisor 6 times before I was sent to one. Supervisor Renea from Philippines answered but was no help. I asked for Reneas Boss, he said Kian, his supervisor was in a meeting all day.
None I talked to said they had ID employee numbers and No complaint department or process. No complaint phone number, unusual email only
It’s impossible to speak to anyone in the US when calling Sears. Sears facebook page was no help either. Spent an hour on phone with no help.
After looking online for Sears complaints, I see why. Sears is not the company they use to be. They no longer care about customer service. This will be my last purchase I will ever make from Sears. There are many other companies that sell the same things they offer. Do yourself a favor and pick anyone else to purchase your products from and forget Sears.
Search google for sears complaints before purchasing from them ever again

Purchased a Kenmore refrigerator in April 2016. We were told by salesman it was made by Whirlpool. Quit cooling and freezing almost exactly 3 years later, this past April 2019. Turns out refrigerator was actually made by LG ... a brand we NEVER would have purchased ... and the compressor failed. According to Sears repairman this is VERY common for LG. Had to wait 3 weeks for parts, and when he came back to install compressor, found out coils had pinholes. ANOTHER 2 weeks later it was finally fixed ... to the tune of $420 (labor costs only as compressor was still under manufacturer warranty). And Sears only gives 4 hour windows for repairs; with the 2 hours to do the actual repairs, we "lost" 6 hours of our day :(

June 10, 2019 called Sears to have 2 yo fridge repaired. Repeatedly spent hours on the phone trying to talk with someone, poor English at customer service, no understanding of the problem, 10-14 days to schedule appointments, 4 technicians later with no repair, put on hold, hung up on, don’t return calls, no direct way to email or actually call upper management, etc. Even a direct letter to the officers of Sears Holding went unanswered. Finally got a replacement on August 24....75 days later. Guess 90* summer temperatures with no fridge isn’t important to the company. Too bad for them as returning for another battle will not happen. What happened to Sears?

I am writing this review for everyone to see that has ever bought an appliance or thinking of buying an appliance from SEARS!
We bought 5 major appliances from Sears here in Richmond,Va. in April of 2018. We also paid $2000 for their extended warranty. In that short time our Kenmore Pro refrigerator has stopped cooling, and we have no refrigerator! I called Sears when we noticed the freezer was not freezing properly and they said they would be out in 3 weeks! I argued and pleaded for them to come, and their response was "We are sorry and apologize for any inconvenience." I explained that I was having major surgery on Sept. 18 and we needed a working refrigerator. I received the same reply as before except they added, "We only have 3 technicians for your area." I find this incredible!
A service man finally came to our home. We were told, It might be the compressor, but it is trial and error, and it might be 2 more months before your refrigerator can be fixed. Someone will be back on Oct. 31."
Sears said they would reimburse us for a rental refrigerator which we have gotten, but it so small we cannot fit the food we need into it. Apparently, that is what SEARS authorized. They would not install it in our house because the non-working refrigerator is in the space for a refrigerator. They installed it in our garage. My husband is 85 and I am 80. I am incapable of going to the garage because of my recent ankle surgery, and my husband has difficulty managing the stairs multiple times each day. We are having a very difficult time coping with the situation. When I explained the situation to SEARS, I was told, "We understand and are so sorry for any inconvenience."
The food in the refrigerator and freezer spoiled because my husband was with me in the hospital and the refrigerator smells like rotted food even after it has been emptied and cleaned. We want the refrigerator removed from our home due to the smell and potential for mold.
We have bought from Sears for 64 years and never been treated so poorly! I do not recommend SEARS appliances to anyone, and the extended warranty is definitely not worth the price. Think twice before buying anything from SEARS. They do not stand behind their products, nor do they honor their warranties.

Quite possibly the worst internet shopping on the internet! First, the confirmation emails have links that don't work. Next, the website won't recognize your order number. After many contact-us messages I finally got a tracking number. Only took 2 weeks to get my order, and it was the wrong item! Go to the website and try to initiate a return and the website keeps redirecting you back to your order status (maybe that's how to find your order status!). Then you end up calling, the electronic voice tells me it's a third party vendor and I have to go thru them, then it gives you a bad number (just won't work). Tried to talk to a person and was put on hold for over an hour, just to be hung up on. Did the on-line chat, got the same bad number and a promise I would hear from them within 72 hours. Then what, wait another 2 weeks? I WANT MY MONEY BACK! THEY STOLE MY MONEY!!
