Don't learn the hard way as we have - Save yourself the stress, hassle, time and cost that we are having and buy from one of the reputable carpet sellers. When you're spending £100s or £1000s don't take the chance of something going wrong and hoping to have some customer support from SCS.
Now after my experience and speaking to numerous people in the industry about SCS including independent carpet inspectors have now learnt of their reputation within the industry and know now to steer clear of SCS in the future.
I have never experienced this with any other retailer - if it wasn't for the £1000 we paid out for this poorly fitted and rough looking carpet it would be comical.
We purchased a carpet for our hallway in December, the carpet is defective (which their fitter who returned to try and fix it told me) and the fitting is (in their own fitter who retuned to look words) "the worse I have ever seen".
So not just my opinion their own fitters opinion.
SCS said the carpet was fine without even looking at it - I insisted a surveyor came and looked at the blatant and obvious defects which they did (another day off work at my expense), the surveyor would not speak to me at all during the visit, took photos of the defects and left, SCS later denied he has taken any photos of the fitting defects and even though he looked at the thresholds again SCS denied that he had.
SCS customer service is awful, they lie are rude and constantly fob you off with excuses hoping you will just go away.
sent numerous emails with photos, they didn't receive them, emailed again 3 weeks ago with photos, still no reply, back on the phone again next week and undoubtedly they've lost it or have no recollection - the last email they actually waited on the phone to confirm the received it.
carpet is 10 months old now and looks terrible (the carpet fitter stetted it looks 7 years old) as has gone flat and matted, cost us £1000 and the best advice they could give me they is to wash it even though its clean, no kids or dogs and has never even had any shoes on it.
Carpet was cut to short by their fitter up to 1cm in places according to their second fitter and wont fit in to the door threshold bars. the stair risers had to be glued on as also cut too short, don't fit in to the grippers and are hanging off and dog eared - looks crap.
Ive been arguing with them now since May, The shop will not help and are completely useless and say they can't help and tell us to speak to customer services, customer services just lie and fob you off with excuses, lost our complaint so we have to start again 3 months later.
This story goes on and on.
Now going to have to pay for an independent carpet inspector and consider small claims to sort this out which is more cost to us and a waste of our time.

There's not much I would recommend, the furniture we have received is of a terrible standard, material all wrinkled up, staples coming out, it's all sinking, the list goes on 😠 Service in store was good however the aftercare is awful, passed from Pilar to post, nobody is willing to take ownership, we have been completely miss informed when it comes to the insurance, full insurance isn't that at all as after 18 months you have to pay £80 to get someone out to anything structural and this is not covered in your insurance at all. We had to be sent a whole new sofa as the first one was so bad, they actually said "this must have been a Friday afternoon job" We also got told to "bye some wooden boards from b&q & put them under the cushions to stop them saging" This is the first time we have bought new sofas, we paid £2000 for them and they haven't lasted at all. we are absolutely gutted and totally disgusted with SCS, the whole company is a joke. I'm actually crying as I write this because I'm so upset that we are now stuck paying for sofas that are sub standard and broken & we can't get the majority of the issues sorted out as it's not covered in your so called full protection. In a nut shell this is the only bit of furniture I have bought from SCS so maybe we have been very unlucky but regardless of what we have bought the customer care has been awful😠😠😠😠😠😠😠

Ordered a corner sofa and 2 seater from the castle vale branch. Very helpful staff. I had measured the room wrong and I was nervous to fo back and tell them but they were great, I chose a different sofa and it came in 4 weeks. Beautiful sofas and great quality.

We went to SCS at Cannock yesterday and purchased a new suite. We were served by Liz who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the brands and we are more than happy with our purchase which will be delivered next month. Thank you.

If I could award minus stars I would.I am not really sure how this company stays open.I had the "pleasure" of dealing with the Purley Way store. They are managed by a gentleman called Stuart and he seems to think that he has some sort of level of customer service.If you buy flooring from this company beware!!! The fitters operate independently to them and from my experience it would seem the fitters can just choose when they want do your installation. SCS never answer the phone, Stuart's comment of the day was, " I'm not here to run a call centre." The only shining light in the store is the lady running the administration section Danielle. I ordered vinyl flooring and they made my extremely frail and old customer wait in all day on Saturday without bothering to inform us that they would not be attending.

Had carpet down ..holes appeared ..they replaced it .they replaced it twice ...backing was not attached..
They finally after months of debate , refunded me .
But over the two yrs the carpet price of the carpet had gone up ..they refused to give like for like with the same price it had gone up to .
Refunded ..so free carpet ..but the carpet is so bad you wouldn't want it even for free..
Replaced carpet , shopped in a small store .
The manager at the scs store in Mansfield was very rude and abrupt .
The c.e.o.was rude ..everyone dealing with this ..ir just ignoring my problem , was about as rude as you can imagine .
they rip you off ..provide tat ..its never the quality you see in store.
The in store carpets and furniture are quality , but you receive a very poor equivalent.
Disgusting. Imagine you got free carpet , and still wanted to RIP it up.
That's how bad the quality is

Delivery driver Colin 21 and Marian from the Basildon 24 distribution centre brought our three piece settee and armchairs this morning. I received a phone call from them to say they would arrive within 30 minutes to one hour. They did and manoeuvred my furniture items into the house and placed them exactly where we wanted. First class service, politely delivered. Very pleased.

So far amazing!! We have used SCS before for a chair and we had a great experience. Naturally we went there after having a great experience last time, we found what we wanted with a lot of help from Carol as we had really specific requirements, it was so easy! Even considering buying carpet from there once it gets measured. All in all a great experience, Carol was knowledgeable, helpful and extremely patient! Fingers crossed the rest goes as smoothly as it did last time!!

SCS have sent two 'technicians' to review the loud, irritating now grinding noise of my sofa to claim that this will reduce over time! This was not evident or sold or discussed at POS.
After months this squeaking noise, not evident at POS has worsened and SCS refuse to take ownership that a sofa is for relaxing, not for frustrating.
Avoid this company as £1000 for a two seater recliner sofa that screeches when you sit on it and screams when you use the recliner aspect negates your life even if you are not battling cancer as I am, and SCS are well aware of.
SCS do not even have a decent complaints procedure and the more one contacts them, the more one realises they are a cowboy outfit which I intend to report to cancer support in the hope they do not negate others persons battling cancer as they have negated myself.
PTN the news today regards false reviews and tripadvisor, as I believe SCS reviews should be investigated.

Whoever set up the customer service at SCS is a total twit, how do you get your order delivered if nobody at the store you made your purchase picks up the phone.
I'm talking about SCS at Beckton in East London, they are good in store when you buy a table and chairs like me 6 weeks ago, but to arrange delivery by phone is an impossibility, even when going through the automatic call system on the SCS head office number and option 1 which connects you to the store the phone just rings and rings, i even went through to speak to someone at the SCS head office and they said they would try and get through to the Beckton store but with no luck, they said they would send an email to Beckton and ask them to contact me urgently but I've received no call or email from the Beckton store, I'm really disillusioned by all of this runaround and rubbish customer service at SCS, so much so that they will be receiving a refund request due to their useless system for trying to get a delivery.
I was going to buy more items from SCS, but after being messed around so much i will be looking elsewhere.

I bought a sofa from scs southampton store last year ,i took guarantee for 4 years with the purchase ,i am very angry and frustrated because the colour is coming off and now it looks like i bought it second hand ,i called the store who said i should talk to the insurance ,when i called the insurance the said that its scs who i need to talk to .i bought a expensive sofa and spent extra money on insurance because i wanted it to last me few years ,now when i see the sofa i get frustrated .

worst thing we ever did was find a sofa in scs, we bought the dream 4 seater curved sofa and love chair. The sofa comes in 3 parts and when it arrived it slotted together but had 2/3inch gaps where it slotted together and the chair had a bent mechanism so it was digging in to the carpet on one side as well as a list of other after sales issues. Firstly it takes forever for them to get back to you. When the first technician came out he was rude, arrogant and basically told us we were being to picky! And that is basically all we had for the last 4 months, we finally Decided we would change for something else because all they told us is the gaps in the back were tolerance and weren’t prepared to do anything, anyway we went to the Chester store to check the colour on the new sofa and when we arrived all the staff scarpered so nobody had to speak to us I finally had to find someone to ask for the manager who wasn’t in so I spoke to the assistant manager and when I tried to tell him what the issues were but he just kept saying “ you’ve chosen something else now haven’t you,” just to shut me up he really didn’t want to know also the admin girl called after us when we were leaving to remind us we owed them more money for the other sofa. As you can imagine we were less happy when we left, so decided to cancel the order completely but surprise surprise they got back to us within 24 hours to arrange to take the sofa away within a week but not to worry we have bought from stokers Chester down the road who are borrowing us a sofa until our new one arrives and who have given us excellent customer service and more contact in 7 days than we have had from scs since purchasing in January.

Had a suite delivered from the Livingston distribution centre we got a phone call with a time when the driver Scott S and delivery crew dave b would come the guys arrived when they said great service they checked the suite and also asked us to have a look to make everything was ok before taking a photo of the suite before leaving thanks for the great service
