I bought a Scanpan frying pan in 2015 but this year the pan was starting to stick. I reached out to Scanpan last week to ask them for advice and the next day their authorised dealer in U.K. ( HAUS) reached out and asked me to send a picture of the pan. The same day they came back and asked me to send them back the pan. Which I did and they explained that there was no defect but the sticking was caused by a build up of oil. I would not disagree with that.
However as a gesture of goodwill HAUS has offered to send me a new one. I have to also commend the incredible customer service at HAUS, my queries were dealt in a matter of hours.

We purchased a number of scanpans because of the lifetime guarantee however with in 15 years 3 of the pan need replacing because the coating is coming off. I have tried to get the company to do something about it. and got no where. We have notice that they do not do a lifetime guarantee anymore. i wonder why? do not expect them to last or for customer services to every get back to you.

I got their Scanpan CTX 28 cm for Christmas and it took about a month to seriously wear out the non stick coating, which is supposed to be (advertised as) really durable! I tried to return the pan, but the company obviously adopts a Blame-the-Customer policy when it comes to returns.

I think the pans are too expensive for what you get -- they seem to be of reasonable quality, but they do not perform as well as they should. Their much-vaunted surface, is not nearly as durable as they claim. When I tried to take advantage of their warranty, because my pan had lost its non-stick properties despite being cared for as instructed, I was met with huge resistance. I eventually sent photos, and they asked me to send them the pan for exchange, but when I did so (after spending a lot of time and money carefully packing and shipping) they sent it back, claiming that it was not covered by warranty as the damage was due to "use". Any reputable company would have stood by their products.
In response to the Scanpan reply, I would happy to provide photos of the pan. I have tried to post them here, but there doesn't seem to be a photo facility. There is no "massive" oil buildup on the cooking surface (and none at all on the flat surface of the pan, where the cooking is done), and none whatsoever on the flame guard. There is indeed some on the bottom of the pan, but I try not to use that side for cooking... It is not an honest response from the company.
